A baron samedi guardian? This may get alot of controversy even after barons healing nerf a couple months ago, but I wanted to create a guardian hybrid because of how supportive baron samedi can be... the heal, the snake which slows the person to a stop and his ult which gives anybody the succ. I mean hades used to be a tank, so why not have baron a tank?

I knew it, I knew you didn't know how to build.

Your solo build overcaps CDR by 10%. Even worse when you consider blue buff gives 10% cdr. Spear of Desolation? What's your goal with this item? Did you mean to get Spear of the Magus?

I don't think you need Genji's and Void Stone. You already have 30% CDR from both CDR boots and breastplate, I would swap genji's for like a spirit robe or mantle and swap cdr boots for (depending on if you go or , if Genji's get pen boots for sure).

Support build has bad build order and is way too selfish (ethereal staff and celestial legion helm are not SUPPORT items), and your only aura item is built last.

Better build order/build for support: , Lotus Crown, , , , .

, , are not items to build in a solo or support build. and can work in a solo lane build.

can work in a solo lane build. The other situational items and such are fine, but I would include more like: , , , , (debatable, and only for support, depends if you have someone like diving the backline), , Shield of Regrowth, , , , , , (solo lane and if building thorns to counter crit).

might not be a support item in a sense that doesn't provide auras or benefits from your team, but that doesn't mean it can't be built by a support, as long as they compensate with auras later in the build.

It would be better if I tested it but I cant until tomorrow so don't jump to conclusions saying that "I cant build" I can build, give me a situation and i will build it.

I will say here, Luka, when you're on the newer side of theory-crafting/building, I strongly suggest you try your builds before posting. Go over the builds you're considering, and make sure you aren't making mistakes like overcapping CDR, and that the items you've chosen make sense in terms of build order and fitting in with the kit.

Let me seize this thread of comments to say.

Lukatomic, it's fine to admit that you still don't know how to build. There's no shame in that, all of us didn't know how to build when we started playing the game either. It takes a lot of time, reading and testing to learn all the small details there are for items and builds. Hell, I'm playing for 6 months and I STILL don't know how some things and gods work.

But at least you have the most important things: you want to learn, you're open to feedback and you don't come here and say "I've built on and went 20/1, so this item works for me!!!1!".

What I would recommend you:

1. Spend some time in jungle practice with a physical and a magical god, and read EVERY item and EVERY passive.

2. Keep in mind that all stats have soft and hard caps. Cooldown Reduction, for example, caps at 40%. Crowd Control Reduction also caps at 40%, if I'm not wrong. Movement Speed, Power, MP5, all have caps. That's something you have to keep in mind when choosing items for a build.

3. Also, be aware of the price of the items. I'd recommend not buiyng very expensive items at the beginning of the build, unless it's a stacking one (, , , and ).

4. Every role has a build pattern. Not when it comes to items, but when it comes to functions.
I'm not going to write examples here, but if you check some builds from other authors (me, Bran, Kriega, Myst, Gulf, Boogie, etc.) you'll see a pattern for each role.

Like I said, don't feel bad or sad for not knowing how to build, learning is an evergoing process. And, unless your name is Kriega1, you wasn't born knowing everything about everything :p

CCR is also capped at 40% and Thebes is something I'd recommend mid-late build because of its price and the fact that it doesn't need active stacks like the other items you mentioned, Vini.

As for practicing in jungle practice, I at least dont need it for chernobog as that build has been used for every game I played with him as my KDA has a positive number. If you want to see it click Here

I'll echo what Bran said. Sorry, Luka, but I have to down-vote as well. Kriega has already posted a good support build, so I would list that instead of what you have. As for solo, you can go more bruiser with lotus crown and being your two main sources of protections, but you need to counter-build your opponent during the laning phase, which means buying protections against their damage type (physical or magical). If you get against a physical opponent, I'd get instead of focus because you'll have 20% CDR from BoV and 10% from the mana buff. I'm glad to see new people here trying out various builds, but yours...yours need some work.

Luka, you should have two full example builds: one for solo and one for support because the former will get damaging items while the later will focus more on health and protections.

What kind of troll support build is this? Anyway if you're going to focus on one it should be solo.

Typical sort of build one would see for Baron Solo: /, ,/, (or another defense/situational item instead e.g. ), , /.

Also Soul Reaver is *** now on Baron. Do not build it.

Despite the nerf, is an option against high health team comps. With so many warriors in jungle and being built by literally everyone, this isn’t hard to come by.

I preffer instead of Breastplate, because Baron’s cooldowns aren’t that long.

Edit: About the videos, don’t forget that Stone of Biding is a bridge item and should be replaced afterwards.

Soul Reaver has been nerfed quite a bit + Baron's received so many damage nerfs + magus was nerfed that I don't think it's really a choice on him anymore. I haven't actually done any damage number tests though. But I know that ever since they nerfed Soul Reaver that Baron mid lane is dead.

I disagree, full CDR Baron is a nuisance. Celestial Helm was also nerfed, I'd rather get Lotus Crown, even for solo lane.

There's still no example build listed. And if you're going to stick with keeping a support build (which does NOT build hybrid) then you're going to need more alternative/situational items listed like and .

Hey Lukatomic.

A few points.

1. Why not start with instead of potions? Seems like a waste of his passive.

2. and can't be bought by magical gods. Remove those.

3. I wouldn't consider core by any means. In a bruiser/guardian build , its's situational, at best.

4. Is this build for solo or for support? So I can give more specific feedback.

I'm guessing this isn't for Conquest, but teamfight modes like Arena, Joust, etc. If it's for Conquest, this is just not viable. But as a tanky build, Baron could be somewhat functional as a utility.

That's definitely an oversight on not using Baron's Brew, as well as putting Ancile and Runic Shield in there when he can't purchase those.

Wouldn't get Fal or Jade. Even though they're "supportive," I probably wouldn't get Shogun's or Spectral either. And in a more supportive role, I probably wouldn't get Deso (or Reaver for that matter). It's a pure offense item and this isn't going for that.

Although Magus isn't core, it could still be good, IF you have enough other magical gods on your team that can help take advantage of the protection reduction. Even though it's a pure offense item type, it also helps teammates deal more damage, so it's offensive team utility.

The build for Baron as Support. Baron CAN be at least somewhat viable as Support (less so since his nerfs), but I just don't think it's that good for Conquest Support right now.

I have to disagree. Sure, Baron got nerfed and he isn't a top support pick (even before the nerfs he wasn't, imo), but his viability as a support isn't up to discussion. He's as viable as other guardians.

Yeah he's viable in Support and Solo. After his damage nerfs/magus/reaver nerfs his mid lane is dead.

You misunderstand. I'm not saying Baron cannot work as a support. I'm saying based on the original layout of his core items it wasn't good enough to be support. Magus like you said is situational. I think shoes of focus is perhaps situational, and should be considered alongside reinforced shoes. Things like that were what made the build itself questionable for Conquest support. Make better sense?

You can get away with just about anything in casual/low-ranked matches depending upon your team and the enemy team. It's when you're looking at higher ranked matches that certain gods start falling off.

The title says solo/support so I'm assuming Conquest. If so, lotus crown and should also be mentioned, as well as Thebes. You could also get an early , but I would drop completely.

That's exactly what I did, stone of binding is a great choice, i decided on book of thoth as the last core item but that might be a mistake, any other suggestions?

There are only two stacking items I think can be bought late and still be useful: and ; Trans because it gives you power, mana, and CDR right off the bat and Thebes gives you health and is real easy to stack on a support. As for replacement items, you have: , , , , , and . What you buy depends on what you need and the situation.

Thank you for the suggestion! I wasn't on the game when I made this so I forgot about ancile and runic shield, I I also was thinking about spear of the magus wasn't a true core, I'll try to find a core replacement for that, if not then I will ask you later.
