Viability / General Use: Medium viability. Bridge item purchased early in a game to provide a specific power spike for temporary advantage.

Advantages: Very low cost, good power and mana / mana sustain for the price.

Disadvantages: No penetration. Relatively weak stats as a match progresses.

Restrictions: Magical gods only.

Discussion: This is a bridge item intended as an alternative to traditional stacking items such as Book of Thoth. Similar to Thoth, it gives a boost to power and mana for more ability use. At a significantly lower cost, it can give a temporary advantage against players building full T3 items, so is meant specifically to provide early pressure.

Its stats are fairly weak compared to full T3 items, and it is suggested to replace it late-game.

isn't doom orb technically a tier 2 item?

Yes, you're correct. I'm covering T2 items that end as a T2 item without the possibility for upgrade to T3, as they're close to T3 in some ways. I already did that with Asi, Berserker's Shield, and Dynasty Plate Helm as well.
