Build Guide Discussion (37) More Guides

Purchase Order

Example Build (In order) Notes General items/build that you will have.

In the general order, however you want to progress them differently and maybe switch the order between Crusher and Soul Eater.

Bloodforge/Deathbringer are swappable.

All of these 'backs' are based off the order you should buy them. If you have surplus gold, obviously either buy consumables or start the next item. NEVER upgrade relics until endgame.

Build Item Assassin's Blessing Assassin's Blessing
Build Item Jotunn's Wrath Jotunn's Wrath
Build Item Warrior Tabi Warrior Tabi
Build Item Soul Eater Soul Eater
Build Item The Crusher The Crusher
Build Item Hydra's Lament Hydra's Lament
Build Item Bloodforge Bloodforge

Leaving Fountain Notes In this phase, you want to basically start off as a basic Jungler.

You can buy potions/wards, because you are left with 100 gold.

For your relic, I usually buy blink. If they have someone with early game cc that poses a threat, buy beads.

Build Item Assassin's Blessing Assassin's Blessing
Build Item Mace Mace

First back Notes In this phase, you should've backed once after getting 1600 gold. You want to buy T3 Boots in this, and nothing else, besides consumables.

If you have a surplus of gold, try upgrading into Jotunns.

Build Item Warrior Tabi Warrior Tabi

Second back Notes For this back you want to upgrade Jotunns if you hadn't already.

If you did on the first back, skip this phase.

Build Item Jotunn's Wrath Jotunn's Wrath

Third Back Notes You want to build Soul Eater early, but if you build it too early then you are a lot weaker and have a slower progression, which is why I put it as your third item.

In this phase you generally just want to focus on Soul Eater because it is so cheap, but you can buy consumables in this back, and maybe even another relic if you're level 12+

Soul eater is a great lifesteal item for Awilix because it provides just enough of everything to make her much more prominent mid game.

Tip: Also, with Soul Eater you want to go for the Oracles by Gold Fury. They give a total of 10 stacks.

Build Item Soul Eater Soul Eater

Fourth back Notes Crusher on this one for CDR, damage, and (mainly) attack speed. This will be your main attack speed item.

Crusher's passive also helps with your 3's clear, and general damage.

Build Item The Crusher The Crusher

Fifth Back Notes Hydra's Lament is a very good item for Awilix due to it's good power and CDR that it gives. It's passive also gives Awilix more damage after her combo.

Build Item Hydra's Lament Hydra's Lament

Final Back (SITUATIONAL) Notes In this back, the items you choose don't really matter all too specifically. It depends on what the enemy team is building/what gods they are playing. For all I care, it can be magi's cloak or some defense item.

Build Item Bloodforge Bloodforge
Build Item Deathbringer Deathbringer
Build Item Magi's Cloak Magi's Cloak

His massive amount of CC in his kit leads to a big threat towards Awilix, only if he has allies around. (Which most of the time, is the case.) His ult is very good towards Awilix, but the main reason is because of his Chains. While trapped in his chains you can't use your 2 or your 1, usually making your 3 useless, and thus your 4 useless. To sum it up, don't get hit by Ares' chains. Please. ) [2] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 96 [display_name] => Baron Samedi [url] => baron-samedi ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => Baron's 3 slows, and if you're high hysteria it's really bad. Baron's 3 combo is a threat towards Awilix because she is very squishy, and it does a lot of burst damage to her. v Click read more v ) [3] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 85 [display_name] => Kuzenbo [url] => kuzenbo ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => "Woah what? This useless ninja turtle? How???" Well, to put it short, his 'Shell Shield' ability mixed with Nemean Lion, and Thorns is crazy good. Awilix basically 4 shots herself. ) [4] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 4 [display_name] => Zeus [url] => zeus ) [scoreVal] => 3 [notes] => Simple. Use an ability, detonate. Ymir's damage mixed with his CC is a tremendous threat towards Awilix. (click on the threat levels to see others) ) ) [minor] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 36 [display_name] => Isis [url] => isis ) [scoreVal] => 4 [notes] => Isis' 1 is very good towards Awilix with the damage it gives, but most of all you can't root her with your 2 and can't knock her up with your 3. Her silence is also very effective towards Awilix. So yes, to the 3 people that play Isis rejoice! You counter the god with 7 players! ) [1] => Array ( [god] => Array ( [god_id] => 41 [display_name] => Tyr [url] => tyr ) [scoreVal] => 4 [notes] => Last but not least, actually kind of the least effective. Tyr has a bit of CC with his combo that can throw Awilix players off, but besides that nothing much counters her. ) ) ) 1

Awilix' threats

Welcome to Awilix! Glad you can join me, and the other 6 players that play Awilix in this amazing adventure!

I'm assuming you're here because you saw/got the new skin coming out in patch 5.15, or you got destroyed by a good one and you want a build/guide for Awilix.

Well, no matter the reason, Awilix is a really fun god to play and a broken one at that, if you can master her.

She is an early/midgame god that can dish out a lot of damage and is VERY mobile, allowing her to travel through lanes in seconds. She also relies heavily on her abilities. Miss one ability and your whole combo is messed up. High risk High reward situation. Awilix also relies heavily on snowballing and keeping ahead of their jungler/team.

Her playstyle is to get in, mess stuff up, and get out. (Like most junglers.)

Awilix has very a decently good clear for jungling, which I'll get into more detail later.

Well? Think you're interested in Awilix? Lets start you off with some things like her pros/cons. Then I'll show you her abilities, and some combos.

Pros / Cons

-Great Mobility
-Great Damage Output
-Great Early/Midgame
-Good Combo potential
-Decent Clear with her 3
-Crazy snowball potential

-Awkward/Bad Lategame
-Very squishy
-Insanely vulnerable to CC
-Relies too heavily on her ability combos
-If you fall behind you are done for practically.

1. Summon Suku (MOUNT/LEAP)
This ability summons her panther, Suku, so she can ride on him and traverse through jungle, and lanes easily. This increases her movement speed and gives her more versatility. Suku can also pounce on enemies dealing damage in a AoE radius.
This ability has an 8 second cooldown.

2. Feather Step (LEAP)
Awilix flips over the enemy you last hit in the past 1.5 seconds, in a range of 30m. During the flip she is immune to all damage, and CC, and roots/cripples the enemy she is flipping over. This ability changes with attack progression. If Awilix uses Feather Step on her second attack, it does an AoE damage.
The progression of damage between attacks with this ability is: 1 / 1.5 / 2

3. Moonlight Charge (LINE)
Awilix sends Suku out rushing towards the enemy dealing damage, and possibly CC.
If enemies are hit from behind, or the side with Moonlight Charge, they are knocked up.

4. Gravity Surge (STIM/PULL)
Awilix's ultimate gives her a Stim, giving her attack speed, attack power, and immunity to roots, slows, and knockbacks.
If enemies are knocked up by her 3, or by allies, she can pull the enemy towards her, dealing damage when they land.

So, as you can see from reading her abilities, Awilix has very high combo potential, and is kind of based off it.

A combo I like to use is: AA-AA-2-3-4

This combo is the 'advanced' combo, here are the base combos: 2-3 , 3-4 , AA-AA-2

Her 2 flips behind them dealing damage, and while you're behind them, if you're quick enough you can use your 3 to knock them in the air. With the 'advanced' combo you can deal AoE, flip, knock them up, and then ult to do insane amounts of damage. After your ult just auto attack, after all you have Crusher, and your Ult's stim.

AA means Auto Attack (Basic Attacks) for those who didn't know.

Tip: Your 1 is very often misused. You usually don't want to use the leap on Suku to engage, because then you have no escape whatsoever.

To counter this weakness, I usually buy blink so I can blink to engage, and summon Suku to escape.

Tip: With Summon Suku, if you cancel the ability while mounted, there is no cooldown on it. If you want to get off, cancel it so you can have it at the ready just incase you need to escape, or have movement through the jungle.

Tip: Try and bait out puro beads with your 3, be sure to prioritize exp camps.

Tip: Get rid of magi's cloak by using your 2 as that counts as hard CC. However, you have to wait a couple seconds to knockup with your 3.

Awilix's jungling is very similar to all other Junglers.

Her 3 is the best for clearing out camps, and try to hit all the jungle monsters with it for a better clear.

Awilix should go in this order:

Harpys by mid, (Only grab 1)

If you know how to play jungler, then you don't really need to read this, but I'll say some "Awilix Unique Jungle tips."

Use Awilix's Suku for traveling around the jungle/through lanes, but don't ever pounce with Suku unless you are about to recall. Always cancel your 1 so you have it always. It's like a permanent speed buff that uses mana.

For clearing with Awilix just use your 3 and then basic attack. If needed, you can use your 2's AoE (Hit twice, then 2) for clear. Her 3 is better for camps though, contrary to popular belief.

Overall, Awilix is an insanely fun god to play and can be considered Broken if you master her. (As majority of my friends call me out for...)

Have fun with the new skin that's coming out too! Finally we get a skin that doesn't look like a hooker on the street corner (Feline Fashion)

Also, Please don't pronounce her name "Uh-Wheel-Ish" I get that's the actual way to say it, but Awilix just sounds way better ;-;

Very solid first guide. Maybe we could share some ideas one of these days. I like your initial build, provides an interesting burst sustain option that really increases your fight and map presence. Might I suggest starting some alternate builds as well? The Katana tree is really good on her (all 4 items) so maybe things like starting Katana. Heartseeker is very potent on her; as are defensive items such as Mantle of Discord Breastplate of Valor and Shifter's Shield. Stacking up a Transcendence is also a very viable early option as the raw power, mana and CDR from it opens up other build pathing without sacrificing some of that burst damage, plus if you can fast stack it the early power is just gross.

The only other thing I noticed is that you label Moonlight Charge as your best camp clearing ability which outside of (arguably) level 1 is, in my humble opinion, not your best clear. I would usually recommend holding Moonlight Charge in lieu of Feather Step as Moonlight Charge is your utility CC and Feather Step is on a much shorter cooldown. Once you hit level 2 you can use both of them to quickly clear camps anyway until you get to the point where Feather Step is instant clearing camps.

But again, solid first guide and I'd love to hear more of your ideas. HMU in-game sometime if you wanna play, my IGN is Salad.

@Sumo, in your writeup on The Crusher you mention for the CDR, but it doesn't. Assume this was just an error.

Also want to hear your thoughts about Trans (with SE and Hydra's and no Jotunn's). Like...Trans, Warrior, SE, Crusher, Hydra's, situational.

Finally, Feline Fashion is my favorite skin =)
FlamingSumo123 | August 11, 2018 9:02pm
Sorry I meant Jotunns for the CDR. Yeah, trans could work but from my personal experience I enjoy jotunns more.

Feline fashion is the best skin lol

Deathbringer listed as a final possible item? What??? Also you could list some other viable items like: Transcendence, Brawler’s Beat Stick, Titan’s Bane, Mantle of Discord, Void Shield, Ancile, Masamune, Shifter’s Shield, maybe even Stone Cutting Sword.
FlamingSumo123 | August 11, 2018 9:06pm
Well I just listed some items off the top of my head that could possibly work. I’ll be sure to include yours.
Kriega1 (107) | August 11, 2018 11:59pm
Well Deathbringer doesen’t work on Awilix.

I take it you watch DukeSloth as well?
FlamingSumo123 | August 11, 2018 9:04pm
Nope. Did he have a build similar to mine?
Gulfwulf (68) | August 12, 2018 9:13am
He may have. I was referring to the fact that he pronounces it "Awilish" and not "Awilix". He even went to explain that it's pronounced the former and not the later after some of his viewers complained about it.

Solid first guide. Nice job.

Do Gold Fury oracles really give 10 stacks of Soul Eater? If so, I never knew that.

Also, I'd like to hear your opinions on the following items as situationals for her:

Titan's Bane
Mantle of Discord
FlamingSumo123 | August 11, 2018 9:16pm
Yeah those all work as situational items, and Trans can even be used to sub in for Jotunns first item.

Gold fury oracles give 5 each, so 10 stacks in total.
Thanks for the feedback :)
Branmuffin17 (311) | August 11, 2018 1:38pm
Oracles would be large jungle monsters, so 10 stacks between the two.
FlamingSumo123 | August 11, 2018 9:12pm
Yes, I said in total. Sorry for the miscommunication
