Mid Role

  • Overview: This build is catered to a somewhat Ability-focused Chronos that typically has both high ability and auto-attack damage, using the fourth section on his Wheel of Time. I would heavily prioritise the fourth section (over the third) to deal incredible damage with his Auto Attacks (which has higher damage potential than using the third section). Chronos excels lategame via his high auto attack damage from Accelerate, whether it’s for structures, objectives or enemy players.

  • Early Laning: As Chronos doesn't have the best early game, play a bit passively at the start, avoid tanking the minion wave and use his Time Rift to poke the enemy Mid if you have already cleared the minion wave, unless you go a low sustain start (in which case be conservative with your mana). The second section of Wheel of Time helps to reduce his massive mana consumption in the early stages of the game until you have an item like Book of Thoth or Soul Reaver or Warlock's Staff online to help with any mana problems. Use the first section for health sustain when you have finished clearing a wave and need to regenerate lost health.

  • Starting Item: Mage's Blessing is generally the best starter for efficient wave clear in the early game, and allows for good poke damage, but with the three potion start you will need to be conservative with your mana and avoid taking poke in lane, as otherwise you may have to back which will allow the enemy mid to take the middle xp camps and possibly invade red buff.

Hunter's Blessing can also be an acceptable starter due to Chronos’ slightly higher auto damage early game than other mages, allowing him to harass (using basic attacks) mages' with unsafe early clear, though this is a starter better utilised in the carry role.

  • Movement: Shoes of the Magi is my standard preference due to it's flat penetration which is useful for early game damage. However, Shoes of Focus can also help with early mana sustain and provides a small but useful amount of cooldown reduction, and works well with Book of Thoth and Book of the Dead.

  • Cooldown: You can get Chronos' Pendant lategame on Chronos himself as a lone cooldown reduction item, or pair it with Spear of Desolation. However, you don't necessarily need 40% cdr if you can one-shot people.

  • Attack Speed & Penetration: Hastened Ring can be acceptable as your only Attack Speed item in Mid role if you prefer Obsidian Shard to Demonic Grip. If you do pick up the ring, I would only recommend getting it earliest at third item or later to use it to its full potential where Chronos' secondary function as an ADC becomes strong after having a high power item/ high power in his build.

Demonic Grip is currently perfectly acceptable in the Mid role due to Obsidian Shard now being more restricted to burst builds. If there are three tanks (e.g. tanky solo, support, and jungler), then you can replace Demonic Grip for Obsidian Shard if you wish. Soul Reaver can help with tanks as well.

  • Protections & Survivability: You could pick Celestial Legion Helm if you face a Physical Jungler that you feel poses a big threat and/or a Physical Mid laner with a good early (e.g Ullr), however since the item's nerf I believe there are better options. For instance, I would get Winged Blade instead for some health for survivability or to counter Nemesis when she uses Divine Judgement. Magi's Cloak is also a good pickup against heavy CC team compositions or Assassins/Junglers with global ultimates (e.g. Thor), though Mantle of Discord can fulfill this role suitably as well.

Carry Role

  • Overview: This Build is catered to an Auto Attack - focused Chronos , using the fourth section on his Wheel of Time. Try and avoid being pressured early game, go with a Guardian with good clear such as Ymir , Khepri , Ganesha , Sylvanus , or go with a Support Warrior such as Odin for a safer early game (otherwise you will have to play quite passively if you are out cleared in lane).

  • Early Laning: Avoid getting your team's Damage and Void Buff stolen , and if outclearing your opponent in lane, consider stealing their Buffs if you are not too low on health and mana and if you seem to be safe from ganking, otherwise farm safely in lane. Get Shoes of the Magi first and then Warlock's Staff soon if you wish to buy it as the stacking requirement makes your early game weak, then buy perhaps Bancroft's Talon for sustain or Demonic Grip for consistent auto attack damage.

If facing the prospect of being against intense waveclear and pressure in duo lane, then Mage's Blessing can be bought to clear fast and farm passively during the laning phase (Void, Damage , sometimes back XP camp). If behind, farm safely making sure to Ward nearby jungle routes and try to split push when it is safe, but don't look for fights if you are underleveled.

  • Starting Item: Mage's Blessing is a decent choice here as you will be using your abilities to clear the wave in the duo lane with some mana leftover to either take your own teams buff camps or steal the enemies.

Alternatively, Chronos can make good use of Hunter's Blessing as it will make his auto attacks in the early levels (1 to 5) hit just as hard as some hunters, though with this starter your waveclear will be slight worse with abilities.

  • Attack Speed, Penetration and Alternatives: Demonic Grip is typically core on Chronos in the Carry role as Obsidian Shard lost its structure percentage penetration. Hastened Ring is a possible (but not required) necessity in this role so you can chase enemies incredibly fast with hard hitting auto attacks when your Accelerate is active with its passive movement speed, and is a valid option.

Typhon's Fang is a good lifesteal choice if you pair it with Bancroft's Talon , be mindful though of the fact that the lifesteal from this combination can be countered hard by anti-heal.

Getting Spear of Desolation will also improve your poke and structure damage due to its combination of cooldown, power and penetration at a price that isn't too offsetting (Though you can replace this with something like a Divine Ruin for antiheal – which is typically the case in a lot of games, Telkhines Ring for auto attack damage etc...).

Solo Role

  • Overview: This build is focused on surviving the hard pressure in the solo lane against primarily Warriors or some Guardians, a few Assassins and a few Mages. When playing Solo against Warriors, avoid getting in close proximity to them in the early stages of the game and make sure you clear the wave from a distance.

  • Early Laning: Although not an amazing start , getting Warlock's Staff soon is important for health as Chronos has a low health pool and stacking it is rather long, although it will help counter Warriors later on, especially ability focused ones. If you have plenty of leftover mana , Time Rift can be used to poke the enemy Solo laner in between minion waves. The stun from Stop Time is also incredibly useful in interrupting some Warriors primary clear , e.g. Nike and Rend, giving you a good lane advantage.

Additionally, avoid getting your Mana Buff stolen as it can be terrible for Chronos' Mana even with Mage's Blessing due to the solo lane having more encounters between minion waves. And finally , buy Wards after your first trip back to the Fountain, as Unexpected Ganks from the enemy Jungler can be excruciating to deal with, especially if your first relic when playing Solo is Teleport Glyph instead of Aegis Amulet or Purification Beads.

  • Starting Item: Usually, I would take Guardian's Blessing for safety and extra tankiness in lane, helping to lane against enemies like Erlang Shen and Achilles.

Alternatively, Mage's Blessing allows for efficient, fast wave clear in the early game to avoid taking too long to clear the wave (which may open an opportunity for the enemy Solo laner to either bully you in lane or steal your mana buff) and allows for decent poke damage as well.

  • Protections & Survivability: Getting Breastplate of Valor (if against Warrior/Assassin) after Warlock's Staff allows you to increase your tankiness until you get Demonic Grip or Obsidian Shard to increase your Magical Penetration.

If against a Magical god in lane, consider getting Genji's Guard in place of where you would get Breastplate of Valor . Sell Breastplate of Valor or Genji's Guard lategame for Polynomicon or another suitable burst item .

  • Alternative Options: If you happen to be ahead of the enemy Solo/team and winning your lane quite easily, then the defense item ( Breastplate of Valor or Genji's Guard ) in your build after Warlock's Staff can be ignored completely and you can instead go straight into Obsidian Shard (or Demonic Grip), Polynomicon, Soul Reaver or Rod of Tahuti and then possibly Chronos' Pendant for last item.

Relic Choices

General Advice/Summary

  • Key Core Item: As stated earlier, Demonic Grip seems to be a more CORE choice on Chronos this season (in any role) since Obsidian Shard had its structure damage removed. Any of you Chronos players out there that aren't too keen on Basic Attacks, well it's time you improve those.

  • Early Game Safety: Remember to avoid getting too aggressive early game, unless you've got some help in Lane (Duo lane, or with Jungler in Mid/Solo). As a late-game hyper carry, your early game is pretty weak and you're especially vulnerable before you've got your ultimate.

  • Late-Game Movement Item Replacement: If you are in the late game / have leftover gold, and if you already have two Magical Rings (e.g. Hastened Ring + Demonic Grip, then you can consider selling Shoes of the Magi for another item, possibly a third Magical Ring ( e.g. Telkhines Ring ). This item combination works best for the ADC role, however for most of the game Shoes of the Magi is core.

  • Item Inefficiencies: Whichever role you are playing Chronos in, make sure you do not build both Hastened Ring and Polynomicon in the same build, especially in an ADC build. They do not function that well together as they both require high Power from other items in the build to work to their maximum potential. Polynomicon uses high Power to make the damage from its passive stronger (More Power = Better Scaling), and Hastened Ring needs some form of high Power in the build to make up for the loss of damage you sacrifice to utilize its passive effect (the item offers only 50 power and 25% attack speed). I generally would restrict Polynomicon to burst mage or triple lifesteal builds, but would not get it in most ADC builds. The only way getting both Polynomicon and Hastened Ring in the same build and being decent would be in a very long game that grants Chronos a high amount of magical power from his passive Time Lord, which can make up for power loss from getting the two items, as the passive grants 125 magical power after 50 minutes.

  • General Tips: With the extremely low CD, spam Time Rift for damage poke on enemy gods when the wave is not around. Remember to Ward around the Jungle areas to your Lane after your first trip back to the fountain. If you've been burst to very low health and relics are on cooldown but your ultimate is not, then use your Stop Time on the enemy to stun them before you use Rewind so you are not killed during the windup.

It is also possible to play Chronos Jungle, but it is a very niche and risky role for him to play especially against assassins such as Mercury , Ne Zha and Serqet , which may make it a very unenjoyable role for him, although another Magical Carry, Freya , is viable in this role if not behind.

Thank you for reading this and I hope you find it useful. Builds from a Diamond Chronos (Wish he still had Basic Attack penalty removal on his 2.)

Remove the (5.20) from the title. Smitefire takes care of patch version for you now.
Kriega1 (48) | November 28, 2018 9:36pm
True, but Bran has a decent point for keeping so I think I may do so.
Branmuffin17 (239) | November 28, 2018 12:43pm
Ii'm personally considering keeping my patch reference anyway, even though it might be redundant. If they get to my guide from my personal page or another link, it's handy having the reference in the title.

very nice informative guide haven't played too much chronos but with this guide it will make easier

Most of the relevant/up-to-date info is the builds/build info than the actual guide.

You can watch this as well:

Yo Kriega,

Even though I don't play Chronos much (at all), I still thought of some questions.
  • You level Time Rift at level 1, over Stop Time. I can see the benefits of this being low CD (5 seconds), slightly lower cost (50 mana vs 65) and higher damage (132 including scaling, compared to 126 from Stop) with early opportunity for poke damage. That said, the AOE is pretty small and you're likely to only hit 3 of the 6 minions, where as with Stop, you can hit the entire wave in one go. Also, although the CD is long, having the initial capability to apply a stun in a weird gank attempt (unlikely to happen though) is helpful. As such, do you mind explaining a bit further on your level one skill choice? Or am I overthinking things way too much?

  • With his fairly nice longer-distance poke potential, along with some healing capability, and full restoration via his ult, do you still see the need for Book of the Dead in the 3rd slot in some of your main mid builds? With no pen before that, and how weak Obsidian Shard really is against squishies, I could perhaps see better use from a flat pen item (or even Demonic Grip which will have greater effect even against squishies) in that slot, delaying BotD just a bit. I know builds always need to have flexibility, but presenting best standard build order is also important.

Mind, I'm not questioning your knowledge here, I know you're a badass Chronos...just wondering as to reasons, or perhaps your consideration of better standard builds.
Kriega1 (48) | August 22, 2018 4:41am
1. Depending on how you auto the enemy minions before they meet the ally minions at the middle of the lane you can group more up for a hit using Time Rift. The main factor however is the cooldown - 5 seconds for Time Rift versus a long 18 seconds from Stop Time. Situationally you can consider it for a level 1 gank attempt at your team's jungle buff (but better to use relic), I wouldn't ever level it first for a in-lane gank attempt as it will harm either your waveclear or gank attempt (or jungle camp clear if it didn't affect the first two).

2. Yes you definitely need it third, he is just too squishy without it. Without it you can get poked very easily using his ult. Book of the Dead also isn't as effective for the self-heal from Accelerate as Warlock's Staff. You can get Demonic Grip but it likely works better with Telkhines Ring than Polynomicon, not to mention that Obsidian Shard allows for instant protection shred burst (against tanks, who stop you reaching the backline unless you're playing Thoth or Agni) in combination with Polynomicon. If you're ahead you can consider delaying Book of the Dead and getting something like Spear of Desolation but otherwise I would just play safe and get it third. You could also experiment with Shoes of the Magi but for this build I would stick with Shoes of Focus.

My alternative Carry build could be what you're looking for however it lacks lifesteal (therefore not ideal), though you could replace telkhines or rod for Bancroft's Talon, but that is an item I prefer to use in a Warlock's Staff build.

edit: outdated info for 2.

Boogie has some points about BBcoding being nice, but I'm in agreement with Marki on this one...the coding doesn't have to be all fancy. I personally am more concerned with the content. Coding takes time, and not everyone is willing to (or should be required to) put in the time. If you do, great, and it'll likely get you some extra readers. As long as it's not a straight wall of gray text, it's mostly okay in my eyes.

That said...the things I value aesthetically when reading guides are clarity of subject, spacing (e.g. not huge paragraphs), and minimal coding for highlighting specific points (or referencing the database). Both colors and sizing can make things stand out, and the coding for that is minimal.

Here's your Mid writeup, with some slight adjustments (and grammatical edits) that I feel make it a bit nicer.

Code for above

So you can see here that I gave an extra space in-between bullet points, grouped things together by subject and in general order of purchase in some cases (you had a discussion on Travelers as an alternative to Magi at the bottom, even though movespeed is picked up early). I also gave a slight size and color emphasis to subjects, which help preface the subsequent paragraphs.

You definitely don't have to do this kind of thing, but it's just one of those things that I feel makes it much more pleasant to read.
boogiebass (21) | April 4, 2018 12:04pm
Bran, The changes you made were what I was referring to when i said "fancy".

Didn't mean to imply it needed to be xzerostrike level.
Kriega1 (48) | April 4, 2018 11:52am
I can agree with this, the layout example you have given looks very nice. However, I only think that it's applicable for the mid, carry and solo sections, I don't see how I could do it when talking about relics or the general summary.
Branmuffin17 (239) | April 4, 2018 12:30pm
Challenge accepted!

code for Relics

As for the Summary, I'd perhaps rename to Tips. Seems more fitting.

Also, I'd move the writeup of the Jungle aspect into the Jungle section summary.

Code for Tips

Finally, in that "Item Inefficiencies" point, I might suggest adding Demonic Grip + Obsidian Shard there...

If I take the time to really read this, it's simple enough to follow.

1. Make it a bit easier on your readers. Your guide would benefit significantly with some BB coding (this has been suggested to you before).

2. You have some redundancies in your guide. For example, in build 5 (titled "Pro player Builds"), you mention: "CARRY BUILD BY EMILITOO (NRG PRO ADC PLAYER)."
Simply stating "Emilitoo's ADC build" is enough. Make small changes like these to make your guide a bit easier to read.
Kriega1 (48) | April 4, 2018 1:34am
I agree with point 2, that will be changed. However about your point 1: how is it not easy to read? Is the text too small? I don’t care if the guide isn’t fancy looking as long as it informs the reader.
boogiebass (21) | April 4, 2018 6:07am
Take a look at BME's Nhe Za guide. The fact that it's fancy makes it much simpler to read. TheZodiacWolf and Draisaitl pretty much hit the nail on the head. Too much plain text sorta turns the reader off.

You have good info in this guide. Take the time to present it properly. At the end of the day, it's your guide. Do w/e you want with it.
BestMinionEver (69) | April 4, 2018 2:12am
I think it would be nice with some more chapters (on chapter for mid etc). I myself like to use the table of content links to move to what I want to read.

I also like using color on the text.
like this

This means you have to use colors on items and gods though when using brackets to get the icon etc. So it is abit of a hassle.
But it does make stuff like this look a lot better:

Also feel white is a lot easier to read than grey, but reading a long guide in white might become hard on the eye. In a short guide like this I feel it is good. And having one color for gods and one for abilities and one for items is also fairly chill for reading.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough the first time. This is NOT a place for personal insults or consistent passive-aggressive / bullying behaviour. The two of you obviously have some sort of history, but that does not mean you are allowed to openly attack each other instead of discussing the contents of this guide.

I will admit that in the process of deleting some of the previous comments I also removed a perfectly healthy discussion about whether or not Fatalis is a suitable third item on Chronos (for which I apologise), and I will make sure to edit this comment to include those parts of the conversation so people who are interested in it can still hear your thoughts.

That said, let's not make this comment graveyard any bigger than it already is. If you wish to continue discussing this personal matter, use the PM system. Any further personal attacks / finger pointing ("He started it on Xbox!", "no he accused me on Reddit!", etc.) in response to this guide will lead to strict action being taken.

Final warning.

Kriega1 wrote:
I never stated Fatalis wasn't worth it on Chronos, I just said it is unsuitable in the early game since the price increase (e.g Third Item Slot), and is only suitable for Fifth or Sixth Item Slot.
Solmain2000 wrote:
The fact that you say Fatalis shouldn't be bought third due the price increase is incredibly stupid in itself, this is because Fatalis does in fact have the most superb and utterly brilliant passive out of any item in the game
Kriega1 wrote:
As good as Fatalis passive is, have you noticed the stats on the item? It is no longer suitable third item due to its price increase because of the bad power curve it gives (10 Penetration and 25% attack speed for 2600 gold is not a good early investment), when you could instead build into a Spear of Desolation or Demonic Grip for instance
Solmain2000 wrote:
that does not change the fact that Fatalis has the least skillful and most broken effect within the game, so buying the item third, even though it's expensive, is still amazing
Kriega1 (48) | June 30, 2017 7:30am
"incredibly stupid in itself"
Isn't this unsuitable? Why have you quoted that part if you wanted to preserve the "healthy" part of the discussion?
Wayne3100 (42) | June 30, 2017 7:49am
You're right, this isn't what I would consider "perfectly healthy", so that's a bad choice of words on my part. I included these quotes because they're part of the discussion which was actually about the guide itself, and - while phrased harshly - none of these quotes break our site rules.

Personal attacks is where we draw the line, and it's because of the fact that several comments (from both sides) included personal attacks that I decided to remove all initial comments in the first place.

Is SmiteFire always this toxic may I ask? I mean, I've come too love smite but the community can sometimes be a bit hateful and I was hoping SF would be different.

No, last time something like this happened was the tigey incident 3-4 months ago and it wasn't this big.

No Smitefire isnt toxic like this. It only started becoming vulgar when a certain someone came along.

As far as I can remember, this is the first time I've stepped in like this since I started helping on the site as an admin (September 2015). I wish I had a better way to welcome you, but I hope you enjoy your stay regardless! :P

Nope, an incident like this one rarely happens, and they're sepparated by a big amount of time, like from 5 to 9 months

Well, due to the recent outcry on this guide, I decided to look more into the mess (and also critisize the guide)

Kriega, know that I don't agree with somne of the things you say/think (As for example the auto-delete thing to be a "possible improvement to the site"), but I need to say you're right in this discussion. Won't dive any deeper.

Now, for the guide and the build.

1. I generally don't like short, basic-bbcoding guides, but your information is really good. I found some spelling mistakes (As in your build for mid chronos, in the item thing, the word "defense" is written "defence"), but that doesn't take away the fact that you know what you're talking about.

2. I found your layout interesting. Various builds, for almost each role, and one from the SPL pros. While it's good cuz it's extra information, it's really crowded by text, that could be developed better in the actual guide.

3. I personally enjoy Ability-Based Chronos, so I will try out your Mid build so I can critize the guide more.

4. I want to see your reasoning for Poly over Pythags. Not that I think you're wrong, but just because I have a hard time deciding between both of them while playing mages with high auto-attack damage.

5. In the General Advice tab, you have some broken BBCoding words, like [[Demonic Grip and Obsidian Shard]

But that's pretty much it. It sounds like you know what you're talking about, but still, I would like to see this guide develop into a bigger and better version of what it is, at the moment, so I'll hold my upvote for when it's better polished.
Kriega1 (48) | June 30, 2017 6:08am
1. Defense is written as Defence due to English (UK) spelling not (US). Also I know my guide is kind of short but this is meant to be more of a build guide than a full guide hence why it is not as detailed.
2. The text crowding is not the best thing visually, but my notations are important for anyone using the build.
4. Pythagorem's Piece is a decent item on mages, but Chronos benefits much more from Polynomicon due to his kit already being somewhat based around auto attacks. Pythagorem's Piece is generally better suited for supporting mages (except Freya who can make some use of it)
5. Thanks I will fix that.
Oh and lastly I didnt say auto-delete I said auto-archive so its still possible for the user to tweak the guide/build to be updated, auto deleting is awful I know.

His guide is average and is made by an average player, take everything he says with a grain of salt

Ah ok. English is my second language and I had my first 4 years of it with US-English and the other 5 as UK-English, so the mix is just awful sometimes (Like I go from a "Let's eat a bugger for crying out loud" to "I wanna go to the pub with my mates")

Removed the discussion between Solmain2000 and Kriega1, since any discussion about the actual guide was largely overshadowed by - both subtle and less subtle - personal attacks, which are against the site rules.

Consider this a warning to both of you. You are welcome to openly disagree with someone, but focus on the guide and its contents rather than resorting to personal attacks. Any further negative comments will be deleted immediately.

Hi Kriega,

Before I start on my comments, I'll piggy-back on Zodiac's...providing the various builds in a separate sections (different build tabs) would clean up the top, especially since you have a lot of notation for each of those builds, and they're all for different roles. In the first build tab, I'd keep what you consider to be your main build (assuming mid) along with its general start, and any power/defense items you feel are appropriate for that role.

Each other build tab would be for a different role. As an example, see Stuke's SWK guide.

Anyway, let's see.

No argument overall on the build, build order, etc. Solid build. Perhaps Obsidian Shard is built a bit early, but with the other choices...don't really see a better spot. Question: do you really default to Soul Reaver as your most popular go-to 6th item? (I do see you say defense or alt power item is an option) I've just never been fully sold on the item, but I know it can work well...but my personal preference for him at that late-stage would probably be Chronos' Pendant. Anyway, if that's your main suggestion, keep it.

In your writeup below, you might consider breaking things down a bit further..."hey, in the early game, concentrate more on getting X item up ASAP, and use Wheel of Time's 2nd section to control early mana consumption, and the 1st section to heal up whenever you need it.

"Later, when you've built up power, switch to the 3rd section to emphasize his damage potential, but don't feel shy to use his 4th section, as his basic attacks will hit really hard...and it's also more functional when taking down objectives." Something like that...helps break it down from a mostly still big block of text. Writeup is solid though.

So, if you break down roles into different tabs, you can give a couple of full example for facing a magical ADC, and one facing physical. Then you don't have to write so much notation either.

On this build, I do find Doom Orb to be an interesting main choice, but I've never tried it so I can't say...but you obviously have and do, so...still find it an interesting choice, and too risky for my comfort. Can't argue with the price though, which I'd guess is a lot of the draw.

Also, you say replace Jade with Book of the Dead...but if you want to commit to basic attacks more, would Telkhines Ring be perhaps another option? Your option in the writeup seems to be between Telk and Hastened Fatalis...why not both (potentially)?

Same for Solo as Carry...if you have that other build tab, you can throw up a couple of different builds, showing not only the current one displayed, but also the one you describe below with Dynasty Plate Helm.

You suggest a potential Stone of Fal against a mage in lane...but I would say two things there...1, it's on the expensive side, so getting it during laning could set you back a decent amount...and 2, most mages in Solo won't be doing that crazy burst damage (barring the odd Ra or something with his ult, or maybe Poseidon)...and so, I might say that the added health from Warlock's Sash would be enough to offset potential damage early/mid-game, and past that, Fal might be okay, but not specifically as a laning counter...more as a general counter at that point. Just my opinion, though. If you choose relics well, you can counter that burst, and of course he always has his ult to heal up.

On relic choices, you've listed basically every single one...but in the body below, you only talk about Beads and Aegis...I'd list only the ones you strongly recommend.

We've sort of talked about your experimental ADC build in a different thread (another's Sol build), but I still am not sold on what is essentially double-lifesteal, between the early Bancroft's Talon (good) and Shaman's Ring (just not sold on it). I'd personally commit to basics with Hastened Fatalis...200 gold difference between Fatalis and Ring isn't a killer, especially if you can take advantage and get a kill early via the surprising burst from Bancroft's Talon.

Anyway, it's obvious you know your stuff. A bit more adjustment on presentation would make this even easier to read...mostly the build tab suggestion at this point. Perhaps a bit more specific detail on when to build alternate items in some of your different sections could also help. Anyway, well done.

@Branmuffin17, thanks for the comment.
Answers to questions/criticism:

* Mid - No, Soul Reaver is not a default item for me, its more of a example last item that I could build, but I usually build last a defensive item or something like Book of the Dead , but it works very well with Polynomicon late game due to the insane burst it provides (Glass Cannon build).

* Carry - I know Doom Orb is risky, but getting the item is the reason why you get Jade Emperor's Crown as that item will make keeping the stacks without dying much more likely. The reason why I suggest Book of the Dead as a lategame replacement for Jade Emperor's Crown instead of Telkhines Ring is due to the Health, lifesteal and higher power it provides allowing you to fight the enemy carry more effectively. I feel that Telkhines Ring would not make sense in a build that has Doom Orb as you would want a bit of lifesteal/health from a Book of the Dead or you could even keep Jade Emperor's Crown for protections so you dont lose the stacks from Doom Orb (higher surviveability). I know Telkhines Ring can work well with Hastened Fatalis but not in this build with Doom Orb, and also because it is quite expensive for the power it gives (80 compared to 100 from say Bancroft's Talon or Book of the Dead ).

* Solo - Yeah good idea about alternative builds with Dynasty Plate Helm. Also , yes you're right about Stone of Fal being unsuitable against a magical god in lane due to its expensive price (I never bought defense after Warlock's Sash anyway) , I will remove that item.

* Relics - I have listed a lot of relics as they can be useful in some cases to replace either Aegis Amulet or Purification Beads in some scenarios , e.g. Phantom Veil against an enemy team that has a Odin and/or Cabrakan.

*Experimental Build - I understand why you are skeptical of Shaman's Ring and it may be unsuitable with Bancroft's Talon as you suggested, however the reason I replaced it with Hastened Fatalis is since the increase to Hastened Fatalis price , it is no longer suitable as a third item due to the stats it provides for the price (200 gold can make a difference as it allows you to have items online faster than the enemy carry, giving you a lane advantage), while Shaman's Ring gives some power and attack speed along with a little sustain. After all it is a experimental build, and im probably wrong about Shaman's Ring, but im trying to find a way to place it into a build that Chronos make use of, maybe you could suggest a build for me that has Shaman's Ring in it as it is an interesting item.

* I guess I can add Solo and ADC builds to actual sections , I originally combined it with my Mid build so new viewers for my guide can see options for those roles as well (as they may not even be aware that you can have multiple builds in a guide), but I can probably solve this by changing the title of my guide.

Hey Kriega,

Thanks for the further explanation on Doom Orb. Makes sense. I think the normal use of it is as a risky early-game item for that potential power boost, as long as you can avoid dying. If so, I'd consider a replacement for it late game, rather than keeping it the whole time...especially if I died late-game, a replacement at the time it loses effectiveness might be good, as long as you have enough gold for something else that's suitable.

On that experimental build...well...I'll see what I can propose, but damn if I just don't play Chronos will always have the better inside scoop in actual function. So my thing with Shaman's Ring is that I have a hard time overlooking that one of its main functions is basically a form of lifesteal. It's static due to your own health/mana pool rather than the damage you deal in a normal lifesteal item like Bancroft's Talon. Yes, the attack speed is high, but the power is technically low...40 magical power, in combination with Wheel of Time's Section IV, is only an additional 18 damage contribution...not all that big to me.

Since the lifesteal aspect of the Ring is only when dealing basic attack damage to an enemy god, it's severely limiting compared to Bancroft's Talon, which will give you health back on abilities as well. As such, I see Shaman's Ring as a late-game item...the more attack speed in the rest of the build, the more you'll get out of the passive. Early game as the first attack speed boost, it's not nearly as functional. Yes, you get a good boost from Accelerate, but that's not your leveling priority. In fact, based on your leveling order, it's not getting up until late-game.

As such, I still feel an item like Hastened Fatalis would be more functional at this stage. Sure, it provides no power, but it does have 10 flat pen, and it provides more boxing potential and the added move speed for getting back to lane, rotations, etc. as well. 200 gold isn't much, but maybe it IS enough to delay things and put you at a disadvantage...again you'd know better than me. But I often find I'm not backing immediately when I have enough gold for that next depends on situation...if I'm okay in lane, I'm not running out of mana or health, etc., I might delay a back to get an extra wave in to keep the other enemy back or whatever...that's enough time difference to get pretty close to 200 gold.

Then again, maybe Fatalis is also a better item in the late game for him. As such, you wouldn't be boxing early/mid'd be looking to hold your own, and waiting to be the late-game hyper carry he used to be. Instead of forcing basic attack function early, just carry on with a focus on wave clear and forcing a stalemate in lane, and transition to basic attack function later. Personally, I'm thinking this makes the most sense.

As such...let's see...Starter item, Shoes of the Magi, Bancroft's Talon, Obsidian Shard, Hastened Fatalis, Rod of Tahuti, Shaman's Ring (or Telkhines Ring). Fatalis could be built later, but I'm already struggling with such an early Obsidian Shard and a possibly earlier Rod of Tahuti...

Thoughts? (Thanks for letting me ramble and taking me up on the discussion)
