Welcome to my guide for Nemesis, Harbinger of Justice

I am a casual player who primarily plays conquest. My preferred role in conquest is the solo lane, however is my favored jungler/assassin by far, thus this is a guide for jungle .

This is my third smitefire guide, and I intend to update it, so feel free to comment things that should be added/edited.

Regardless, lets move on to the legislacerator herself, Nemesis!

Items

This section is built around the build above as well as situational items. Do note this build is for a quick and powerful , thus I mostly do not include sustain related items. You may also note that this build does not have very much penetration. This is because of 's passive effect as well as ' ult , which allow you to bypass protections relatively easily.

Another note on the item choices for this guide from a professor proxy article: "Nemesis only has 2 moves that have any scaling. Best case scenario Swift Vengeance (hit the target with both dashes) and Slice And Dice (hit the target in the middle area) have 50% scaling each. Together they’re 100% scaling. So if you go for a full power build her entire kit gains around 300 damage before protections.

This is why you don’t build Nemesis for power. You build her for basic attacks because she can easily chase and stick to targets, is very difficult to fight because of her debuffs and shields, and naturally has high attack speed as an assassin (which synergizes well with Qin’s Sais). Qin’s Sais and Critical hit items are much better ways to improve your basic attacks than raw power."

Conclusion

is the fastest god in Smite (although might have a bone to pick with that). Her movement speed, attack speed and kill speed combined are unmatched by any other god. She may not have too many tricks up her sleeve, but packs quite a punch.

I hope you enjoyed reading this guide, and to all those curious about the title, a legislacerator is a Homestuck reference to a legislator who lacerates those convicted. A fitting title to blind justice herself.

Nah the whole point is that legislacerators are those that enforce blind justice through violence. Threshecutioner would be a good title for an guide though given the whole sickle thing.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Ichavail, especially on a jungler... But I understand why it could be used (especially on a solo {{Nemesis]])
I do not build crits on as I tend to use her as a tank killer; DPS is more important in that case than crits (except if no one is goind defensive in the opposite team...). So yes, if you build you probably won't go crits.
is really good at killing tanks or healers due to her abilities, and I think that the current meta is a good opportunity for her to shine.

@Vithaliy, thanks for that comment, this guide hasn't been updated in quite a bit.

Firstly just to note: this guide is reflective of me 3 months after having started playing smite. was my first jungler, hence I used the beginner jungler stereotype on her of building full power without regrets. I believe my build at the time was the first one listed above except replacing with and replacing magi's blessing with either , or .

Would I recommend this build today? Only if you want to pubstomp newer players (I was going like 20-1-10 with this build back then since I was being paired with people way under my skill level XD).

I do still think the first build listed there is viable, but you need to be up against a team where can really take advantage and hypercarry your team, which is not most cases. Hence as of late, I've been utilizing the "tankier build" with and the majority of the time (although I can't say I've played all that much as of late).

However, more of a bruiser is very, if not more viable than my more 'glass cannon' style builds in the current meta. Personally, my play-style with her is much more attuned to the 'glass cannon' archetype, so I take advantage of that in my matches since I'm more practiced with it, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to most players after all this time.

To address the points brought up: would work great as a replacement to / if you want to grab another tanky item for the / build as well (I would not grab and however, not quite as efficient). Some good options for that you already mentioned like , or (I would also include and , perhaps if you're going to help its passive).

I will say that magi's blessing regardless of the nerf is still a solid pick since it gives you a lot of security knowing you can go all in without being CC'd, especially with a more 'glass cannon' build, but I'd probably grab something heavier if I was building more as a bruiser.

As mentioned above, is awesome on nem, especially paired with . I would only grab on a bruiser build if the enemy has a lot of slow immunity or if I want to grab that and then a different tank item from (eg: they have 4 physical, I'd grab and ).

I'll see if I can update the guide to include some options for more bruiser-style builds and also get rid of silly options like as your last item and my first two out of date recommended actives.

Hi!!

As is getting much more screen space recently (thanks to CycloneSpin mostly); maybe it could be interesting to update the build after last patches. Especially considering that had her shield buffed (decreased cooldown by 2s).

I've seen in previous comments that was not recommended, but I guess it has been updated in the meanwhile cause it "only" cost 2850 gold now. I'd put that instead of .
Also, Magi's blessing has been nerfed, so maybe not a good choice anymore.
It can certainly be replaced by or .

Also, Weak3n (in this video) recommends Sould Eater, but makes sense if you don't have any healer. and can be real valid choices as well.

What's your opinion guys?

After throughout testing, yep, it's true that is extremely situational, it was only effective with 2 or more tanky dudes.
Also is great with the current meta since a lot of solo laner are not taking so that you're not arriving late in lane. Otherwise, it's a little gamble 'cause until you have your 2nd item (ASPD for me) is more effective for jungle clearing, which may make you fall early game. But after that, it's really power-you-up for everything! So it's gamble, but really worth it.

@FemFatalis And for as 2nd pick, I was taking it to counter her poor early game for an "aggressive" start. But with the recent patch, I think I'll switch to much more Effective/Cost items as 2nd pick and delayed it to 3rd item.
As second item is pretty awesome. It give everything you need for a AA god focus like (ASPD, Power, Penetration) for a cheap cost. Plus, it's going well with her passive. also is an excellent alternative, less power for more survivability. But with the nerf, it may be less viable ...
I wouldn't recommend on her. Her early game is really poor and you need some ASPD to make viable, which delay the pick. With her terrible wave clear and the nerf of the number of stack, it make this item viable only in late mid/late game. Maybe using more aggressively you can counter balance that, but it's too much a gamble for me.

@rilazari I'm not fond of on as a AA god and since she pretty squishy, you can't really stay long in battle to enjoy its passive. The CDR became usefull for her ult and maybe for roaming, but with you have a bit of a solution with more versatility.

@Greenevers I never though of on her, because you need ASPD to have a burst. But for heavy AA enemy (Currently, too much ADC in this meta), I should try it with , it must be awesome O_O.

@rilazari I've try as 2nd, it was nice if when I was ahead or already have, at least , at best also). Otherwise, only ASPD was too much a gamble for me.

As I say, is an adaptive slot, excellent if you're even slightly ahead, to enjoy her mid game potential (Soloing the gold fury also). Otherwise some defence could be an excellent choice. As alternative, I was more thinking of who is going nicely with your battle style: + ATK bonus for and first AA combo. After, then you're low life (or against a burst like ), some defence plus together with passive and even if the enemy burst/CC is down. + would be an excellent choice against a heavy CC team, I have to try it.

Within the last couple of weeks, I've come to the conclusion that all auto-attack assassins / warriors outside of the hyper carries should go a bit tanky. These include Arachne, Nemesis, Bellona, Osiris, and Bakasura. I'd say Bakasura can go either way depending how he does in lane. While Nemesis' late game is really good, she's not really a hyper carry. I think it's important for her to abuse her mid-game potential with her ultimate and to be able to stay in fights late, she needs defense.

The reason you go and / is because of the cost-efficiency and effective health it brings to the table. Say you don't build a bit on the tanky side. Unless you're ahead or fed late game, you'll be blown up in fights after you blow your shield before you do any amount of damage. You won't need magi's blessing if you have % mitigation as well as effective health. It's an either or, try both I personally like the latter.

I only go if I'm ahead due to its high cost and lackluster passive late game. Try out the build, but if you want to credit someone for this build in the future, make sure not to credit me, but Weak3n from AFK Gaming.

Interesting build. The playstyle would be drastically different from the other build though, more of a bruiser (might you say warrior?) approach to rather than the alternative more glass cannon approach. If you were going to go for a bruiser the build Greenevers provided does look particularly appealing (although I would always get over at least on ). It's particularly appealing because it's cheap compared to a crit build, getting you online much faster.

While I don't think that glass cannon/hyper carry is dead (especially outside of pro games), bruiser is definitely viable. I may consider adding that as a second build if I have time.

Could be replaced by a and one of the Mails by a Magi's Blessing? I've never seen as the tanky sort of jungler; for me, she seems to fall into the hyper carry class a la , , etc. Magi's Blessing is necessary for survivability, and is OP right now, but seems a little much. Otherwise, I do like the build, I'll have to test the two against each other.

Okay, so the season 2 build for Nemesis is completely different from S1 for some reason. CDR doesn't fare on her as well as most people thought it did. Instead, the way most people build her now is for her to get online asap with some attack speed. Instead of / , you could go for / . In fact, if you go , you can hold off until late game.

My current build for Nemesis (which is also the current weak3n build) is:

Crits work fine on Nemesis but with the build provided, I can guess that the early game is very lackluster and hard to get by. You need some early attack speed by either getting or in place of . achilles spear instead of HoG might be a good idea, I'll try it out! But, is very strong in this meta, and the slow effect will help your whole team instead of the fatalis proc only helping you.

I'd also suggest that you elaborate a bit more on using her shield. I often see many players use the shield ASAP when boxing when instead, they should be using it at the end of the fight or to wait to negate a vulcan ult or something of the sort. Good luck!

Back on topic, maybe a second, then sell it to get online and start building crit? There's no denying 's early game power, I just see it as useless compared to other attack speed items when you're critting mages and hunters for 800.

@FemFatalis, I will again speak in defense of . Nem's only slows for 2s, which is not enough time early game to get any hits off and make any real impact at all. Her ult, while it does give you movement speed and a slow, has a long cooldown that only gives you a 5s time frame to kill your enemy (during which the enemy can CC you, use an escape or pop ) to kill them. gives you kill potential all the time, regardless of what abilities are up, additional movement speed for roaming, and greater kill potential early game (although it is a bit lacking late game, you can always sell it to make room for or magi's blessing).

Does that mean it's worth it if you get or to compensate for these problems? Probably not, but it's an option if you want your actives to be and .

Also I'm still yet to test on nem. I've had the opportunity, I've just been wasting my time doing the oh so great Bacchus Jungle instead.

@Lleweilyn, there's no way to make viable right now. Think about it this way: with the price of (3050 gold), would you rather have 30 physical power, 15% attack speed, and a barely useful passive, or 50 physical power, 20% critical strike chance, and a tick based on your power? is cheaper than by 150 gold, and is actually better without because your auto attack speed might overcap. Little inefficiencies, sure, but I find the triple crit build much better than . There's a reason we don't see Unicorn builds on hunters anymore.

might actually be viable on this character; first time I've said that. My build would probably be , , , , , , but I just like the reduced cooldowns on and in the mid game. could easily be built second and followed up with or if stacking is possible on . Theorycrafting incoming; I expect to play lots of now.

@rilazari, I personally think is better with , since it won't overcap your attack speed. Also, is entirely unnecessary on , she has a slow as part of her kit as well as a slowing ultimate that increases her movement speed. would be useless compared to , , or .

@Zilby HOLY **** just reread your post and combo is inSANE. I'm totally motivated now. And the lifesteal will get her through the early game which is tough for her...ok I'm just going to stop talking now and go play . PM me in game or on site if you want to work together on this for your guide because DESTROYS the guardians in the meta right now and she could easily become top tier with this build or something like it.
