Introduction

Hello Fellow Smite Enthusiasts, I am BYtheHORNs if you do not recognize this name i would like you to do something for me

Research!:

SERIOUS POSEIDON ( WELL ....... SORT OF )

http://www.smitefire.com/smite/guide/serious-poseidon-well-sort-of-2690

Anyways This Guide ( which should be apparent at this point ) is about Tyr the god of JUSTICE!!!. and will hopefully give you some helpful insight into this Norse brute and how to cope with the assured JUSTICE!!

if you like the guide or have any tips i would Be Grateful for any so feel free to express any opinions you have in the comments below

Remember This is what i use when playing Tyr but even then builds are situational and DO NOT follow a guide 100% these are tips that come from MY experiences you may find something you like better so be open minded.

Your Lesson in Justice

Tyr

Pantheon: Norse(a manly pantheon)

Role: Warrior

Type: Melee Physical

Lore:

Tyr. The embodiment of mankinds impossible ideals. Man is a malleable creature, but a God is stone, shaped only by the harsh weather of expectation. And none have a greater burden of expectation than Tyr, for he is Courage. He is Honor. He is Justice.

Courage is not the absence of fear, but the will to face the frightening.

Fenrir, the mighty wolf, was foretold to wreak such devastation on the Gods that they sought to bind him. Tyr, clothed in courage, brought the beast to their prison, where the Gods prepared shackles.

Honor is not a stubborn oath, but the integrity to uphold what is right, even when it is not easy.

Under the guise of a test of strength, twice the Gods bound Fenrir, and twice he broke free. On the third attempt, Fenrir sensed a trick and demanded one of the Gods place their hand into his mouth. If the binding proved magical, Fenrir would take the hand. Tyr agreed.

Justice is not adherence to the law, but a code of fairness and morality.

Bound by the mystical ribbon, Fenrir devoured Tyrs hand. It was the price to be paid. And Tyr paid it willingly. Even Fenrir deserved justice.

One handed, Tyr is worshipped as a pinnacle of righteousness, called upon for valor in battle, balance in law, and the fortitude to face the impossible. As the cloud of war blackens the world, and fear grips the people, Tyr is stooped by the weight of expectation. With blade in hand, he takes the field. For he is Courage. He is Honor. He is Justice.

Base Stats:

Health 475 (+80)
Mana 230(+40)
Movement 375
Health Regen 8(+0.72)
Mana Regen 4.4(+0.29)
Attacks/Second 1(+0.021)
Magic Protection 30(+0.9)
Physical Protection 15(+3)
Physical Power 39(+2.25)

Abilities

Passive: Unyielding
Stuns, Taunts, Fears, and Mesmerize cannot affect Tyr for longer than 1s.
He also has a swing chain ( 1/.5/1.5x damage and swing time )

(His passive is AMAZING this allows Tyr to escape situations where other gods would not also makes it easier to confront tanks like ymir especially if you have Qin's blades .)

(As for his swing chain if taken into consideration allows for more efficient wave/jungle clear as well as good damage output)
Ability #1: Fearless
Tyr charges forward, damaging enemies. Assault Stance: Tyr pushes all enemies along with him, hitting them 2 times and knocking them up in the air. Guard Stance: Tyr hits each enemy only once, passing through all enemies and knocking them away.
-Damage: 40/90/140/190/240 (+50% of your physical power)

(This is Tyr's control allowing for the manipulation of his enemies and when pared with BlinkBlink can become a fearsome force within the battle field.)
Ability #2: Powercleave
Tyr makes a massive melee attack, hitting all enemies within a 180 degree cone. Assault Stance: Enemies that are knocked up in the air are knocked away. Guard Stance: Heals Tyr for each enemy hit (max 3).
-Damage:70/120/170/220/270 (+50% of your physical power)
-Heal:45/65/85/105/125 (50% of your physical power)

(This is the Skill you should always max FIRST! due to it's massive damage and AMAZING heal while in Guard Stance it allows Tyr to stay in fights he shouldn't and allows for further control when it is combo'd with Fearless while in Assault Stance)
Ability #3:Change Stance
Tyr changes between Assault and Guard stances. Changing stances refreshes the cooldown on Fearless and Power Cleave. Assault Stance: Gain Physical Power. Guard Stance: Gain Protections.
-Physical Power:10/20/30/40/50
-Protections:8/16/24/32/40

(This is the reason Tyr can out put a lot of damage Switch between Assault Stance and Guard Stance refreshing your cooldowns allowing for you to spam your abilities, also the protections and damage are really good early game.)
Ability #4: Lawbringer
Tyr leaps through the air, bringing indiscriminate justice upon all enemies in the target area, and slowing them.
-Damage: 150/225/300/375/450 (120% of your physical power)
-Slow: 25% for 3 seconds

(In my opinion one of the best jumps in the game although it has a long cooldown due to the fact that it is your ult you are completely cc immune while jumping so no pesky fenrir jump catches or those last second ymir freezes also the damage can be really high if you build high damage)

Pros/Cons

Pros:
+Great .... Dare i say it Sobek like control
+Amazing Sustain with Power Cleave while in Guard Stance
+A great escape/initiate tool with Lawbringer
+One of the Best Passives in the Game
+great passive Damage and Protections with Change Stance

Cons:
-Has a pretty steep learning curve for first timers
-Has to be right in someones face to do damage due to the fact that he is melee
-in terms of jungling he is not easy

Items (Solo)

Mark of the Vanguard

This item Provides:

100 Health
5 Magical Protection
5 Physical Protection
and a Passive 5% Damage Reduction

(This item is Purely a early game item ( hence it being a starting item ) it's benefits will be basically irrelevant by the 10 minute or so mark.)

Warrior Tabi

This item Provides:

30 Physical Power
9% Attack Speed
Unique- 18% movement speed ( not stack-able with any other boots, shoes or greaves)
Passive- 15 Physical Penetration

(This is your Primary Movement and really only gives you slight benefits so don't be afraid to just only get tier 1 then get your next item ( i don't usually but you can ).)

The Executioner

This item Provides:

30 Physical Power
20% Attack Speed
Passive-Basic Attacks Reduce the Enemies Protections by 7% + 5 for 3 seconds
( Max. 3 Stacks )

(This is your shred against the enemy as well as some more attack speed allowing for you to get your basics of more for more harass.)

From here you should analyze your situation: if your'e fed feeding or in between this should determine your choice.

Your Fed

Focused VoidBladeFocused VoidBlade

This Items Provides:

30 Physical Power
50 Physical Protection
Passive- 25 Physical Penetration

(This Allows for you to do massive damage especially early game also giving you some protections which should help with the hunter ( carry ) or any physical jungler. If you feel you need to help your team you should replace this with Voidblade )

Your'e not Fed nor are you Feeding

Jotunn's Wrath

This Item Provides:

40 Physical Power
150 Mana
15 Physical Penetration
passive- 25% CDR ( cooldown reduction)

(If your'e not so fed this is a really good option cheap and gives you some more poke as well as better damage output, the Mana helps to.)

Your'e Feeding

Frostbound Hammer

This item Provides:

25 Physical Power
325 Health
Passive- Basic attacks reduce the enemies movement speed by 25% for 2 seconds

(This item is good if your'e underfed or in need for kill securing and gives you a little bit more survivability. This also has some Synergy with Ankh of the Golem )

Again Analyze your Situation, Which type of damage is posing more of a threat to you Magical or Physical?

Physical Protection

Witch StoneWitch Stone

This Item Provides:

45 Physical Protection
15% Movement Speed
15% Attack Speed
Aura- enemies within 55 feet have there attack speed reduced by 15% as well as having there physical power reduce by 25

(Due to the possible Focused Voidblade Focused Voidblade of Frostbound Hammer you shouldn't have to get heavy physical defense so this is a good replacement giving you some chase as well as reducing the enemies power and attack speed. this is especially effective against hunter. But if you have to get heavy physical go for hide of the Nemean Lion .)

Magical Protection

Bulwark of Hope

This item Provides:

60 Magical Protection
450 Health
Passive- when below 25% health this reduces all damage by 50% for 1 Second. this affect can only occur once every 60 seconds.

(while giving you lots of magical protections the shield is an AMAZING effect also mitigating physical damage. the health also works well with the Ankh of the Golem )

Deathbringer

This item Provides:

50 Physical Power
20% Critical Strike Chance
Passive- 50% increase to Critical strike Damage

(This allows for Tyr to deal ALOT of damage with his basics especially the 3rd hit of his swing chain.)

Ankh of the Golem

This item Provides:

35 Physical Protection
550 health
Passive- 1% of your Maximum health is converted to physical power

(This ties you build together because tyr has generally high health this allows for more damage while allowing for a more health based build or at least items possible.)

Items (Jungle)

There is a a lot of similarities between this and the solo build above. the only differences are that Qin's Blades is acquired, Mark of the Vanguard is replaced with Bumba's Mask and Ankh of the Golem is turned into your main physical protection.

Qin's Blades

This item Provides:

30 Physical power
15% Physical Lifesteal
25% Attack Speed
Passive- Basic attacks deal additional damage equal to 4% of the Targets Maximum health

(This allows the Shredding of tanks and other bruisery characters. Be warned the life steal isn't much so do not be to reliant on it.)

Items (Support)

This will be added once i make a solid support build. which will take some experimentation.

Match ups - Solo ( In lane And Ganks )

Anubis

).
Anubis Egyptian God of the dead. While not the hardest Magical god to go against he does A LOT of damage with his combo ( , , ).
He will out push you for most of the Laning phase your best chance to push is by using Hand of the Gods as ofetn as you can. a good way to poke the anubis down is buy Blink early and wait until he uses Plague of locusts blink behind him the wait til the animation ends then use Fearless (make sure your in assault stance) and push him back into tower or into teammates it may result in a kill. If the Anubis is In the Jungle make sure you have Purifiacation beads as to avoid the Mummify , and most jungle Anubis Players players will buy BlinkBlink so be careful.

Hades

The God of the Underworld Greek that is .... Anyway he has Great sustain with his huge heal from Devour Souls which not only heals himself but the minions or allies next to him.

While in lane with Hades make sure he dives into the wave with Death from Below before going to clear or initiate because while tank Hades does not do much, Damage Hades is what most people solo with and he does a lot once built up a bit and that poke can tremendous damage if you get hit with the 1 and 3. The best way to kill a Hades is let him push and if he dives into the wave and if he is close enough to your tower push him back and just try and put him down quickly.

When Ganking a Hades just make sure he has dove before going in because it is hard to chase a Hades due to the fact that he dives away and if you get close and they are aware they will most likely silence you with Shroud of Darkness . Just remember to be aware of the jungler and you positioning because if you dive the tower, or go in with no escape and the Hades realizes it you be receiving the most painful hug you have ever received in you life. And if you cannot get away or the jungler comes around when your'e at low health well you'll be seeing Hades again quite soon won't you.

Hel

Hel Goddess of the Underworld ( Norse under world not to be confused with Hades ). Amazing sustain, High Burst and Arguably one of the Funniest jokes in smite. This dame will MURDER YOU ! if you allow her to get you low.

Like any other mage, once she has hit a certain point ( that being when her Repulse/Inspire is leveled up ) she will out push you with ease just make sure you don't get poked down to the point where she can easily burst you. The best way to kill a Hel is instantly burst her. With Tyr you are going to either need to get her into tower or a big creep wave or have ***itance form the jungler.

When Being ganked by a Hel . Unless she is under fed or you are confident in your ability to kill her don't engage, Since Tyr is not going to 1 shot her she'll most likely just heal any damage you do right back up.

Hercules.... welp your'e lane will be very boring just two muscle men whaling on each other and then healing all the damage up. good luck

The best way to Deal with a Hercules in lane is to well Not deal with him it's futile Mitigate Wounds will heal all the damage the you deal plus some once he ranks it up. Push your wave back off and wait for a gank ( it will usually take at least 2-3 to take him down ). Be careful though he will try to poke you down Avoid the Eathbreakers and Driving strikes he will try to shove down your throat.

When ganking your only real way to kill him is if he is low or WAY out of position. So while your getting the buffs near by just watch and wait to capitalize.

Kali

Kali RageBlood Lash
Siphon Blood

Loki

Decoy
Aimed Strike
The Trickster god has well... many tricks up his sleeve and will not hesitate to try and use them on you. From DecoysDecoy to teleportation from Assassinate this trickster is well... tricky.

Since the nerfs to Loki's DecoyDecoy you will see him less often. But if you do it shouldn't be that hard to out push him and from my experience with Loki solos they will probably vanish to place there decoy or vanish and get some poke out on you with Aimed Strike and if you let that poke go unpunished or get low enough the Assassinate will most likely pick you off.

When ganking it is important to Make sure Vanish is on cooldown and just control him for as long as you can and since he is squishy you should be able to take him out easily.

RAAAAAAAA with some skill and luck that sound will result in your impending doom with his healing capabilities, base damage output ... out the wazoo and one of the weirdest jumps in the game this Egyptian sun god will Bake you in honor of his chicken brethren.

While in lane the best way to deal with a Ra is stand your ground. While his push is well pushy it is not very difficult to bully a ra out of lane. Just assert your dominance, threaten him with barbecue sauce and watch him run around like a chicken with a ....... very large norse man in the same lane as him. Seriously though you have a lot of damage and can easily take him down just watch out for possible ganks also be careful with your positioning and you should do fine.

When ganking a Ra just make sure your teammate(s) are aware of you and push him towards them with Fearless . Since Ra doesn't have any leaps or dashes it is easy to contain him and take him down. Note that Ra players will throw their Solar Blessing down and either keep running or move in silly patterns just force him out and make sure your teammates capitalize. This will result in chicken dinner.

Well Looky here it's Tyr great sustain great damage and a reliable jump with Lawbringer .

The Way to beat a Tyr or for that fact any other mirror matches is well your knowledge on the character and your skill. While you and the other Tyr have the same kit you or them may utilize it better and wreck the other. In lab settings none of you would win but this isn't a lab so there are more variables like jungler ganks or bad positioning so be aware and play your best.

When ganking a Tyr it really depends on you positioning and your teammates whether you will get the kill or not.

Vulcan

Thumper XVIVolcanic Overdrive

Zeus

Aegis Shield

Zhong Kui

Zhong Kui the Demon Queller has great sustain good damage and amazing natural protections He is not to be triffled with..... well until Recall Demons is on cooldown

While in Lane it is imortant to try to stop zhong kui's farm the best way to do this is by disrupting the exorcism that will collect them stacks. Well how does one Disrupt with Tyr well ........ * Facepalm * you use Fearless of course! Wait until he has applied the card approach him and push him away from you minion. If your in guard Stance just tackle him when he is about to use Exorcism. It takes a lot of practice but if mastered you won't really have to worry about Zhong Kui for long.

When ganking a Zhong kui at the first sight ( unless they are near their tower ) will most likely use Recall Demons right away to prevent them from being cc'd or increasing his protections to survive the assault he may even go on the offensive and try and kill you and your possible teammate.

Match Ups - Jungle ( In Jungle and Ganking )

Jungle Anubis will clear camps faster so if he is good with his routes you will have a hard time getting mid camps When ganking an Anubis make sure you do not get hit by the mummify. if you can avoid it it'll allow you to get close enough to him as to use your combo or use the opportunity to leave either one.

A lore section is useless filler to pad a guide's word count. Also, gameplay is the entire point of a guide. It's not "Tyr for dummies," it's more like the US Army manual on handling firearms.

Also, grammar is a thing.

Baptism2 - Thank you i appreciate the kind words about the guide and i do say im coming close to findin a good all around support build for him though it has been difficult

elias0 - i personally dont get Cdr boots because im usually in a sitaution where i need to burst so having the extra pen helps alot especially when you have a tankier solo like a Hercules or a Guan Yu

Subzero008- i respect the fact that you have opinions and that you may not like certain things but im not going to remove some " ****ing lore section " just because you say so

it is hard to do a gameplay section due to the fact no game is the same i do plan on doing a tactical sort of section but to be honest this is a build not a how to tyr for dummies

down vote it all you want just because it is incomplete i dont plan on contacting you when im done you can come here or check on it for yourself

I do apologize for the lack of "upkeep" on this guide but personal issues have arisen i do plan to come back to it soon and hoepfully finish it.

Remove the ****ing lore section, it's the most useless thing in the game. I respect that this is just a draft, but it shouldn't have been published in this state. I mean, just look at that sad and empty matchups section.

What is there is good, but this guide is lacking in everything else, especially gameplay.

Incomplete, downvote. Feel free to contact me later when this guide is updated, and I may change my vote.

like your build but prefer cooldown reduction on boots whats your opinion on them?

This is an outstanding guide. I haven't tried it yet to measure its effectiveness, but assuming the build is good, it's certainly something for others to model as far as level of detail and thoroughness. I can't wait for you to finish the "support" build.
