Hi, I'm a bird, but on the internet, no one can imagine it !
More seriously and as you can guess, I'm a smite player, and my main are Ra, Anubis, Ao kuang , and a new one : Aphrodite
I played her only a few time , but since now ( the moment i write this guide), I never lose with her.
So, I was thinking of sharing love with everyone, but it's illegal to harass people, so i'll just share my build...

A small reminder : In Joust, there's no left and right lane, only one middle, with 6 jungle camp placed on the side of this middle lane ( Mana and speed next to the phoenix, and damage situated around the middle of the map )
This placement affect the gameplay : you'll constantly face each other, all together ! But there's small trick to know.
Aphrodite poke combo
Aphrodite, is one of the strongest healer in the game, but have only few way to damage enemy. In teamfight, she is the queen, and in solo she stay alive most of the time. Most of time, some people say "lol, OP god you noob, l2p a normal one !" . Never forget that there isn't any OP god, only OP player, it's how you play it that will define if the god is good for you to play, or not. Person who rely only on how good is the god, aren't playing like they should.
Anyway guys, feel free to comment under this build ( even for doing bad joke ! ) I'll try to update if you told me interesting stuff ;).
See you in game !
P.S.: For more information, search "IceBerserk" in Smite, and have a nice day !

Stay away from Stone of Gaia with Aphprodite. She has enough sustain. Stick to Bulwark of Hope or perhaps Pestilence. And even so, Void Stone is the best magical defense item for her. It should be your default choice for magical protection, and the other items for when you are behind, like you mentioned.
heavnly agility is a core active on almost all healers, and for Aphrodite, it's a must.
Items explanations are okay. They are a bit long and repetative, but other than that, you explain very well the choices between them.
Skill section is as it should be. Nothing much to say. Though, the skill section is a bit lacking. Rather than explaining what the skill actually does, which most readers know by already playing her once or reading the skill description by mousing over the skill's icon, you should put more emphasis on the actual uses of those skills. When to use which skill, how to use, when not to.
For example, explaining how you shouldn't use Back Off! while you are linked to an ally that is chasing an enemy is vital, so that you won't assist them in getting away.
Another example would be that if you have an ally that you need to save, straight up kissing the enemy to stun them would put Kiss on cooldown, where as kissing your ally before, then stunning the enemy and then casting your birds will stop and damage the enemy while healing your ally and granting them movement speed.
Also, in the poke combo, you should put Back Off! at the end of it instead of loving embrace. You have another damaging skill which also helps you disengage, what else can you ask for poke? it's better than auto attacks.
Gameplay and teamfight is a bit lacking. In 3v3, there are constant fights. Who is the ideal soul mate, when to heal, when should you use birds to heal and when to damage, things like that. As you said yourself, Aphrodite is a support character who relies on allies. Her teamfights are her greatest aspect.
The guide itself looks nice. Good BBCoding, though there are quite some grammar and spelling mistakes. I would like to mention that in SMITE "resistance" is more often referred to as "protection", or "defense", but it's just a quality of life kinda thing.
Also, in the Advantages / Drawbacks section, you could try and make it a little bit more clean. Just writing general strengths / weakness, like "High Sustain", or "Long Cooldowns", would make it much more easy to understand and visually more stimulating. In the spoiler you could expand a lot.
Oh, and there are way too many colors in the Active section. It hurts my eyes.
Overall, I can't vote for this guide. It is incomplete, but has potential. I'll wait for you to expand it and improve and then decide.
You can level Love Birds both level 1 and 2, but since this is a 3v3 joust I'll let it slide since you start at level 3. Just know in the future, if you go into conquest, you can't level the same ability at 1 and 2.
As a support-ish type, don't get Greater Sprint, get Heavenly Agility. I know you list it in alternatives, but I'd consider it a core, as a healing god.
Since you only have Soul Reaver against a non MR team, let's do a bit of logic here. The only teams that build MR are ones with tankier fellas - more than just a mage with voistone, but seriously tanky teams. That means the only ones you wouldn't build Obsidian Shard on, and Soul Reaver in its place, are teams without bruisers or tanks. This means they are building damage and not health, so its passive effect is less impressive. In its stead, I'd suggest Gem of Isolation. Your Love Birds keep the passive rolling, it gives nice tankiness while a solid amount of magic power. You can obviously keep Soul Reaver as an alternative, as you already have, but I'd heavily suggest that you suggest Gem of Isolation.
As for the rest of your guide, you have solid reasoning. The grammar and spelling are average but you get your point across without too much trouble. I'd add more in about exactly how to teamfight - as a 3v3, there's very often skirmishes. Sometimes it takes more than just knowing what abilities do what - when should you be kissing your teams bruiser/guardian so you can follow up on his engage, vs kissing your assassin/mage/hunter so you can ult and keep them alive? It's things like that people REALLY need to know to be successful. So a section on that would help.
Also, I'd give a brief rundown of how to 3v3 Joust, since this is a guide solely for that. Mostly, what do you do when you've pushed them to tower or phoenix but they have waveclear. This can make a 10 minute game into a 30/35 minute game.
Nonetheless, good guide, and definitely deserves any upvotes it gets. Kudos!
On teamwork you could be more specific on what do you need to do stay back focus on doing damage focus on healing etc.
From the title I get this is a joust build. as you already said you can go support or mage (solo lane) aphro. this already results into 2 different builds (a lot of time under 2 building tabs) one with the support one with the mage build. Why because both can ave a different skill order (love birds is in both always prio and the the other goes for a more 4-3-1-2 prio (support) and the other with A 3-2-1-4 prio (more mage). Also because it joust you have two ways of things playing out what depends your role as aphro. 1 of the others will always be a hunter or assassin for the adc. and then you have the other player being or a gaurdian or warrior defensive (in this case you need to do more damage) or a mage and a warrior offensive (in this case your thew support).
now the build. as I already stated I haven't played aphro a lot but I can say soem things about it. also take the point about 2 completely different ones in account so both look more clean. well let's start.
First your starter and actives.
Shoes and Rod of Healing is a pretty nice start with some pots but then meditation as active. Picking actives requires thinking ahead. You are a mage and what I have seen from mages is that their mana would only drain quickly in early game. but in mid-late game their MP5 is high enough too keep their mana high rendering a med useless. remember you don't need too clear the wave alone (most of the time) both your adc and gaurdian/warrior/mage are helping so you won't need to spam your Love Birds unless your going too push or you are getting more outpushed. So you won't need to use med in early game this way.
In the actives tab I see some actives that depends on what you are support or mage. and still I miss some (really rare in use) actives that can be devastating. Also as aphro you need to watch out for a Weakening Curse (one active that works always nice against healers you forgot).
well you got the term core a bit wrong. this has 1 thing of the part of the support and mage in both different tabs. and the other are from the first back section. The core is mostly 3 items (the core by this god is Shoes of Focus, Rod of Asclepius and (off course) Rod of Tahuti) all the other items are situational.
because CDR being important on aphro you will always make the item after shoes and rod another cdr item. this depends on the other team. has the team 2 phys then Breastplate of Valor has the team 2 magical then Chronos' Pendant.
the other 2 items depends on what am I playing support or mage. well I will start with the support items, because I don't know much of being mage aphro.
well because you already build shoes and rod and your cdr item you now get too choose 1-2 other items before your going too finish rod. this also depends on the other team mostly you will take hide of urchin when you have a mixed team because it gives a lot of protections and the 5 item being Sovereignty for the aura and when you have taken pendant. Otherwise it would be Bulwark of Hope (or Stone of Gaia if you want more health regen but you already got the heal) when you took breastplate as cdr.
Unless you have a full phys or full magical team then both items will be defense against the kind of team it is.
As mage you will pick a pen item and the other being or lifesteal or something else.
As Pen I would recommend taking Spear of the Magus because of your Love Birds doing DoT (if I'm right) this will allow you too stack it when you hit Love Birds.
The other item would be poly or Soul Reaver depending the way you want to do additional damage.
(still I think support aphro works out a bit better)
about skills if I'm right when you hit Kiss on an enemy god your soul mate will do additional damage too any god for the duration.
the bbcoding is fine (could always be improvement but it's good enough. (it isn't super important but I find the icons and double brackets, something that must be in it too make it understandable for other instead of searching the database for the item someone mentioned etc.)
Hope you can do something with this. It looks great and is pretty good but the build section is a bit messy what leaves for a no vote from me. 0
