Introduction

Awilix Season 4 Conquest Guide

Hello and welcome to my Awilix Season 4 Conquest Guide.
I played Smite since the start of Season 2 and love playing Awilix ever since.
She is one of the most versatile Gods in the Game and I for myself never got bored with her.
In Season 2 I reached Diamond 1, Diamond 4 in Season 3 and in Season 4 I wasn't really keen on playing too much Ranked but I already got to Plat 2 only through qualifying.
This Awilix guide is supposed to make you grasp a basic feeling of the god and not to give you expertise in every mechanic. I am making this guide because I see too many people fail with Awilix because they don't even know the basic mechanics or even builds.
This might explain the Winrate of Awilix currently Sitting at 41% although the God can dominate in the right hands and is not that hard to pick up.

Pros / Cons

PROS
-One of the strongest early games
-Great snowball potential
-Easy to pick up
-Satisfying plays
-Amazing Ganks/Rotation
CONS
-Weak teamfight potential
-Hard to come back from falling behind
-Hard to master
-Mana hungry
-Weak Lategame

Items

This Item is, despite other beliefs, the first Item Awilix should always pick up. Every ability allows you to hit a straight basic after using it and you also have to hit basics to set up your Feather Step. Also Awilix can make great use of the Mana regen because she is, as already stated, very mana hungry.
This Item was good in the Meta several Months ago and that was the time I really tried it on Awilix and I feel it really fits in the build. The damage is great to have on the Feather Step with essentially 100% scaling and the protections helped me stay alive countless of times.
Nothing really much to say here. Core item for most ability based Assassins.
So this might be a surprise now but I consider this Item possibly the best Item to pick up on Awilix. Feather Step, Moonlight Charge and Gravity Surge all proc this item and allow for additional basic attack to still have the debuff applied while attacking after using these abilites. The power and Health is also nice to have.
You can switch out Runeforged Hammer with Heartseeker if you want to have more bursty damage output once in a while but I prefer Runeforged Hammer because the passive is always applied and it offers some health. Mostly you would not be able to hit 5 basics in a fight to make use of Heartseeker a second time after engaging.
Great Item if you want to tear down squishies because the basics you would have to hit for the damage reduction can easily be managed during Moonlight Charge's knockup or just while setting up your Feather Step.
Nice on Awilix because it gives some Cooldown Reduction and the additional attack speed is really good to set up your Feather Step quicker and also to have more damage output during Gravity Surge's Attack Speed buff
Also core item on most assassins if you want to shred down Tanks. Pairs really well with Runeforged Hammer.

Skills

Summon Suku

This is the basic movement Skill of Awilix. You will mostly need this to engage in a fight or to set up your Feather Step, therefore leaving this Skill at level 1 is great because you don't need the extra damage and you want to have the mana cost as low as possible. If you cancel the ability while riding Suku it does consume Mana but does not go on cooldown. If you can engage without leaping off you should always do that to have a leap at your hand later on. Chaning this Leap into Feather Step is the best way to disengage because Feather Step and the leap off Suku grant you immunity to new damage or CC. Meaning you are immune basically until your Feather Step ends. Hitting something right at the front edge of your Targeter and then immediately using Feather Step is also faster than normal walk speed so keep that in mind when you need to escape and have minions at your hand.

Feather Step

This is the bread and butter of Awilix's Kit. If you master Feather Step you can humiliate almost everyone. The skill is quite simple. What basic attack would be next in your 3-attack-hitchain determines how Feather Step functions. If you hit one basic before using Feather Step the ability does x1.5 damage and if you hit two basics before using it you get x2.0 damage in an AoE circle. Aditinally, you always stun your enemy for the duration, which is 0.6 seconds. You can hit the enemy with other abilities to set-up your feather step but then no damage multiplier applies. Despite the range of the AoE circle you can use your Feather step from quite further making it a great gap closer tool and the stun also provides stopping power for most leaps or dashes if used with the right timing. As already said, this ability provides complete immunity to all new CC or damage during the duration, this means you can for example dodge any enemy ability by hitting ANY enemy and using feather step right as you would get hit. There are three exceptions for this No Escape, Gravity Surge and the pull of Paolao still can pull you out of a Feather Step. Bleeds or DOTs on the other hand still apply while you use your Feather Step so be careful about that. You can also use your Feather Step to get over small walls like Ring of Spears or Ice Wall if you hit a target behind the wall.

Moonlight Charge

Moonlight Charge is the completion of Awilix's kit and synergizes really well with her other Abilities. If Featherstep over an enemy facing you and immediately use Moonlight Charge a knockup is guaranteed. Imagine the knockup radius of this abilty just like Petrify but from behind. Since knockups are the strongest kind of CC in Smite you usually only want to pair your Ultimate with this if the enemy is far away and doesn't have any kind of movement ability. Otherwise just use the time the enemy is knocked up to hit some basic attacks and use your Gravity Surge when the enemy tries to leap away. If they try to dash simply use your Feather Step to stop the dash.

Gravity Surge

Awilix's ultimate is the final part of her lockdown kit. If you somehow can't follow the enemy, which you usually can with your other abilities, or if he leaps away this is the perfect part to get them back and secure the kill. If you want to pair Gravity Surge with Moonlight Charge always wait for the enemy to be close to hitting the ground before casting to ensure you get the extra hits on them while they are knocked up. Also don't be scared to use Gravity Surge just for the attack speed buff because it can be helpful in some situations despite having a very long cast time.
You can hit two basics after the ultimate with the enemy still being stunned to ensure a Feather Step with which you usually follow up has the x2.0 damage multiplier.

Playing her in an actual Match

Early Game
Early game is the most important time in the game for Awilix. You want to farm effectively while also prioritizing on early ganks. With one of the hardest hitting abilities early on in the game Awilix is a great threat to anyone in the game. Her kit is already really great to have a good damage output at level 2 and Feather Step allows you to negate some damage by timing it right. You usually want to invade if you can and prioritize on immobile targets and use Gravity Surge as soon as possible (not in the fight but early in the game as soon as you level it). You also want to try to snowball in early game to have a more pleasant mid-game

Mid Game
Mid-Game is really dependend on how you did before. If you played right and got only a little ahead you can go "head over heels" and try to get as many good ganks as possible and it is also really easy for you to steal enemy camps and get away with it because of your good mobility. (Don't really go head over heels and play stupid but don't be afraid to show your strength]
If you are behind in midgame your upmost priority is Farming. If Awilix falls behind she is one of the hardest gods in the game to come back with. Thats why you need to cooperate with your team to ensure your lanes are safe while you farm your way back into the game. If you get to shift ahead you can be a little more aggressive.

Lategame
Lategame you are rarely supposed to be engaging in teamfights but to pick squishies from the backline and combo them down, then escape as quickly as possible. Always wait for the enemy to make a mistake because you have a very strong punish. Also your ult will mostly be cleansed anyway so don't expect your ult to be the biggest game changer but somewhat of a beads burner although you can get some good kills and combos with it. Your kit makes you also a really good tank shredder which is why you can also pick offposition tanks if you need to.

Final Thanks

This was my first Guide and I wanted to make it compact to begin with.
I am planning on adding some advanced mechanics and other guides to make the whole page more advanced but thats for a later date.
I would really appreciate any criticism and ideas to make the guide better.
Thanks for reading my Awilix Guide!
