Hey, Rexorama.

So, I actually like the thinking behind some of your choices, but I feel that things could be done a bit differently if we are looking to maximize efficiency.

I'll start with the fact that you aren't starting with Hunter's Blessing. In my mind, this is a Core starting item in Conquest for ADCs (I'm assuming that this is what you mean by "strong lane", which is a term from Dota if I'm not mistaken).

I also think that you may be overestimating your ability damage/significance. Artemis generally gets more damage from auto attack focused builds than ability focused ones. For this reason, considerations should be made such as:

As my final point for now, when considering DPS, it seems like you are placing a lot of reliance on Vengeful Assault. For example, in your "vs tanky" build, you have no Attack Speed built whatsoever. If you look at the numbers, this will hurt your damage output by a significant margin.

Overall, I feel that the build could use some improvements, and I hope to help in any way that I can.

before I decide to give any kind of feedback.

does this guide mostly have arena in mind? or also other non conquest modes which start at lvl 3 (joust etc)? cause assuming the skill lvling I can see it is probably not meant towards conquest.

It's pretty bad regardless of mode. You should not take Transgressor's Fate at level 1 in Conquest because Suppress The Insolent is your main wave clearing tool. I would also drop Soul Eater and go with Bloodforge as my main (and probably only) lifesteal item. Also, The Executioner is better than Titan's Bane for pen because even though Art has an attack speed steroid, it won't always be up and the extra attack speed helps against both tanks and squishies. It also helps with her passive when she has enemies slowed, stunned, or rooted. And what's the deal with meditation cloak? That relic is really only useful in Assault, even when upgraded. It's worthless in Arena due to how close the portal is and it takes up a slot for a more useful relic like Aegis Amulet or Purification Beads. As for Loki, don a Mantle of Discordia and laugh as he ults you, gets stunned, and you run away.

So, no, this is not a strong lane build unless you're up against low-level players who don't know how Art works and/or cannot easily escape her damage.

@Gulf/Myst/xZeroStrike

These builds do not help play towards any of Artemis's strengths, and I can not recommend them.

I've added some people to this chat that could help improve your build knowledge.

Your builds are missing:
1) attack speed
2) penetration (kind of...you have penetration, just not the right kind. You need the executioner in there)
3) some sort of dps option: qins sais OR 2-3 crit items.

Gulf has most things covered. I'll add, for the creator of the guide, why some items shouldn't be built over others.
Now, I've never tried Talaria's on Artemis, and I can see the appeal for it in Conquest to get back into lane quicker after a back, but Ninja is overall still a better pick for Art early game. It boosts her attack speed and mana, which she needs as she only has one clearing ability, Suppress The Insolent, and she relies on that and basic attacks entirely to clear her waves. Not running Ninja will make lane clearing that much more difficult, and early game difficulty is something an Art definitely doesn't need.
Soul's entire passive goes wasted on Artemis. Transgressor's Fate and her clear don't do enough damage to justify the heal on ability. On top of that, it has less lifesteal than either of the two better options until it is stacked, at which point it ties in lifesteal with Bloodforge.
I don't get why people build TB on Art except for structure damage, but Art's structure damage mostly comes from her high AS rather than pen or true power. Exe is by far superior over TB for Art in every aspect, since your abilities are not your main source of damage, your basic attacks are. Always. Your abilities are just there to assist you in hitting those basic attacks easier and faster, as well as helping apply a little bit more damage when they're available, but not enough to pick TB over Exe.
The only gamemode I'd consider defensive items is Assault, since in that gamemode you're all packed together as a tightly knit group of kindergartners with no way to escape your inner demons. There are a couple exceptions like Mantle of Discord or Magi's Cloak to aid you against certain unfavorable matchups, but otherwise I'd steer clear of them. And yes, Shifter's does provide power, but there's better options: Crit or Qin's.

Overall the builds are not viable in any remotely competent level of play. At the moment, it's either Devo or Transcendence build into crit or qin's or a mix of both. Some examples:

Think that's all said. Anything else I should add to that?

After the buff I would not switch out Devo's it gives you 29% lifesteal, if you would combine it late with an Asi assuming the opponent has no anti heal you have ~50%. you will heal each basic as much as you would with only Asi without passive, and this still procs giving you ~80% lifesteal.

if your opponent does not have anti-heal they will have to oneshot you.

TB late is still potentially a thing against a tanky comp. This doesn't mean it replaces Exe...normal build structure would get Exe mid-game and TB as probably a Boots replacement.

Ninja Tabi vs Talaria Boots
  • Artemis doesn't try to clear the wave early. She is looking to poke out the other ADC and relies on her Support to help with clear (pairs well with Sylvanus, Ymir, etc.). I would recommend Warrior Tabi.

Soul Eater
  • I wouldn't go as far to say that the passive is "completely wasted". Artemis does more ability damage than you may think. Her Cooldowns are extremely short for a Hunter which is why the damage numbers aren't high. This is offset by applying that damage 1.5 times more often than your typical Hunter.
  • I might also mention that she has a much easier time stacking Soul Eater than something like a Devourer's Gauntlet, especially from behind.

I don't think TB affects structures anymore, so that's even less of a reason to pick it up. It's great on characters that can burst down an enemy with abilities, but, as you pointed out, Art relies primarily on her basic attacks for damage, so exe is the superior option.

A crit build should basically be Rage, then Deathbringer, and maybe Poisoned Star if the enemy isn't building Spectral Armor and/or Hide of the Nemean Lion.
