Introduction

Nike is one of my favourite warriors, due to her simple yet effective kit. She's a very safe pick and this build will give you some insight into how to play her adequately. Please leave a vote and a comment if you enjoy the build!

Pros and Cons

Pros
★ Fantastic wave clear.
★ Easy to play.
★ Excels in team fights.

Cons
🚫 Lengthy cooldowns.
🚫 A bit squishy (early game, at least.)
🚫 Vulnerable to CC.

Items

Gladiator's Shield

Gladiator's Shield is an early game solo lane item that has more recently come to light in the meta. On Nike, this item is great, as the stats favour her greatly (particularly the CDR, much needed) and it provides some additional sustain to her kit, with the passive HP5 already coming from her 2.

Ninja Tabi

Nike is a mana hungry goddess, and Ninja Tabi responds to this need efficiently. If you want the bigger power spike, Warrior Tabi is an option, but you are sacrificing a lot of sustain, and if you have a mediocre jungler who does not do mana camp for you, you may be left distraught.

Jotunn's Wrath

One of Nike's downfalls is her hefty cooldowns. Enter Jotunn's Wrath, providing 20% cooldown reduction, along with power, penetration, and mana. This item is good, period. It works on almost all physical gods, and is just an overall great item. The cool-down reduction is essential for Nike, as already stated.

Spirit Robe

If you haven't already, at this point in the game, you will likely be rotating out of solo to come and help your team in teamfights and securing objectives. Spirit Robe gives protections to help cope with the magical damage on the enemy team, and the final bit of cooldown needed to push Nike to max CDR. The CCR in both the pure stat itself and the passive is also very helpful and potentially life saving.

Runic Shield

Mages are designed for the late game (typically) and Nike is going to be at the forefront of the battle, being the solo laner. Due to this, absorbing damage whilst still putting enough out can be tough. I haven't seen much Runic Shield and I don't know why, because it's such a great item. It's cheap, the stats are super helpful, and the aura is impactful to say the least.

Titan's Bane

Of course, Titan's Bane is required. This item doesn't need much explaining, but just to clarify, the percentage penetration is most effective in the late game, and being able to actually damage the more tanky characters on the enemy team is made more possible with this item.

Skills

Rend

Nike slams the ground twice, sending out fissures that deal damage. If a target is hit twice, that target loses protections for 5 seconds.

If Nike's 'Plan of Action' is active, Rend gains an additional attack. If a target is hit three times, that target is disarmed.

Ability Type: Line
Damage: 50 / 85 / 120 / 155 / 190 (+40% of your Physical Power)
Protections Shred: 4 / 8 / 12 / 16 / 20
Disarm Duration: 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2s
Range: 50
Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80
Cooldown: 14s

The ability that makes Nike so good. Sheer damage, ridding the enemy of protections for a generous duration, disarming them for up to 2 seconds, and offering ample range.

Plan of Action

Nike draws upon her vast battle experience to plan her next move.

Passive: Nike gains HP5.

Active: Nike's next ability gains bonus damage and a special effect.

Ability Type: Stim
HP5: 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30
Bonus Damage: 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60
Cost: 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50
Cooldown: 18 / 17 / 16 / 15 / 14s

If this ability is not being used, Nike is essentially given additional healing (aka. HP5). If the ability is activated it gives Nike additional buffs to her other abilities, whilst also offering bonus damage, going up to 60. 60! That's more than pretty much every physical item in the game (exlcuding Bloodforge, but you build that anyway.) I can't get over it.

Valiant Leap

Nike leaps into the air, then crashes down at a location dealing damage and knocking up enemies.

If Nike's 'Plan of Action' is active, she travels to the location much faster.

Ability Type: Leap
Damage: 65 / 115 / 165 / 215 / 265 (+60% of your Physical Power)
Range: 55
Radius: 15
Cost: 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 / 75
Cooldown: 18s

Generic leap, hard to land if Plan of Action isn't used. Don't waste Plan of Action on the leap though; always use it on Rend, or maybe Sentinel of Zeus, if necessary. Does a decent amount of damage if landed though. Also serves as a knock-up. Pretty good crowd control, but the second you land, you want to attack. You can anyway, but trying to hit a flying target is easier said than done for imbeciles like myself.

Sentinel of Zeus

Nike transforms into an armored sentinel and sends out a shock-wave that damages and slows enemies around her. While in this form, she gains 40% of her max health as a shield.

If Nike's 'Plan of Action' is active, Nike instead gains 60% of her max health as a shield and applies a 60% slow.

Ability Type: Ground
Damage: 100 / 165 / 230 / 295 / 360 (+70% Physical Power)
Slow: 30%
Shield Duration: 10s
Slow Duration: 6s
Radius: 40
Cost: 90 / 95 / 100 / 105 / 110
Cooldown: 100s

Teamfight? This ult is beauty. Chasing down a target? Don't sweat it. Running away, and being chased by some unwanted mistake? How unfortunate. For them, that is. There's not much to say about his ultimate, because it's simple, easy to understand, and effective.

Combos

Combos are pretty self explanatory.
Wave Clear: Use her 2, then 1. If you can, bait out the enemy CC which would otherwise cancel your abilities, for more success.
Poke: Same as wave clear, but throw some autos in when you can.
Killing: 2, then 1, then 3, auto until they're about to go out of range, then 4. The shield should win you the fight, as it is so strong.

Hey there Elusus. If you don't mind, I would like to comment on your Nike build. Just a little background into my experience with Nike. I currently have 142 matches with her with 666 kills, 439 deaths, and 1329 assists. I have found that she excels with a bruiser build with high cooldown reduction to use her abilities as much as possible. She is more ability based than auto attacked base, but I could see her doing okay with some attack speed. I am basing this off my own experiences so take what you want out of it. Obviously if it works for you great, but I could see issues with it.

Thank you so much for the reply! I appreciate you pointing out the flaws in my build and I'd be happy to fix them. I've played Nike alot since making this build so I noticed a few flaws already that will be fixed in the update I'm working on. I'll say what I think about each thing you said.
Devourer's Gauntlet - "not necessary with her since she gets additional HP5 from Plan of Action which helps alleviate that a little bit" - I completely forgot about this! It would make more sense to build HP5 than lifesteal if anything.

Blackthorn Hammer - "I think there are better items for her." - You're probably right. The main reason I choose to build Blackthorn Hammer is because I'm not a good player. Supposedly, Nike is one of the easier warriors, so I made this build forgiving to players, at the cost of slightly better stats. I think I'll add in an alternative for stronger players.

Hydra's Lament - "I wouldn’t use this and go for more penetration in the build like Titan’s Bane" - I build Hydra's just because it's one of the few items that provides cooldown and power. I understand building her as a bruiser opens up many more sources of CDR (e.g. Breastplate of Valor) so I'll have to look into this when updating the build.

Hide of the Urchin - "I just don’t like that you put it last" - why did I put it last? It was 4am when I made this build, but I absolutely agree that building this item last is ridiculous! Why did I do that... 😂

The Crusher - Yeah, I like the Crusher in general on Nike. It just works, granted the other stats have been covered. It's not something I would rush to build but it works.

I'll give you a shoutout in the build update. I'm working on some visual changes along with item changes. Thank you so much! ^-^
