Notes Replace Blackthorn Hammer with:

Brawler's Beat Stick - If the enemy team has a lot of (self)healing. The 40% reduced healing on the passive when hitting an ability makes it easier to kill your healing opponent

Titan's Bane - If the enemy team builds a lot of protections. The passive makes it easier to shred through the protections.

Magi's Cloak - If the enemy team has a lot of crowd control. The passive makes you absorb a single hard crowd control or root effect. The protections and health helps give you a bit of a higher chance to stay alive when escaping

Void Shield - If the enemy has a lot of physical damage. Recommended when the enemy team has 4+ gods with physical damage. This item gives you a little bit of power and health, but the most important ting: 50 physical protections. Also has a physical protection shredding passive

Ancile - If the enemy has a lot of magical damage. Recommended when the enemy team has 4+ gods with magigcal damage. Gives you 40 power and 10% CDR, but you buy it for the magical protections.

Introduction

Hi there fellow Smite players! My name is Caralicious (PC IGN = Dkatcity) and welcome to my basic Da Ji guide. I just picked up playing smite again after not playing it for more than 1,5 years. I had a very old laptop that could barely run this game. At a certain point in time it gave up and I couldn't play Smite anymore (It would overheat my laptop). After much procastrination, I eventually bought a new one and the first thing I did was install Smite again. I started playing it around beginning/mid season 4, took a long forced break and here we are now, season 6.

I'm a casual Smite player that mostly plays Arena (~60%). Started out as primarily a hunter player, but shifted overtime to the assassins. My favourite god to play at the moment is, as you guessed it, Da Ji .

Enjoy my guide!

Ps. I would love to hear your opinions (Positive & Negative) in the discussion section

Pros and Cons

Pros

- Kills squishy targets easy due to her passive Torture Blades & Horrible Burns
- Good engaging
- Can chase enemies very well
- Easy to learn
- Has an Auto Attack Cancel (AA Cancel) for the more skilled players
- Can set up teamfights with her ultimate Paolao

Cons

- Is very squishy herself
- Engage is also escape
- Purification Beads counters her ult
- Not so great early game

Item Choices

Attacker's Blessing - Provides you 20 physical power for the early game. When fully stacked (100 stacks), it gives +10 penetration. Stacks are obtained by damaging lane minions and enemy gods. Assassins Blessing isn't a good option, because there are not many camps to clear

Warrior Tabi - Da Ji is a burst-type assassin. Attack speed from Ninja tabi is not needed on her. The +20 extra physical power from Warrior Tabi helps Da Ji better

Jotunn's Wrath - This item is core for most (if not all) burst-type physical gods. It provides you 40 power with 10 physical penetration, some mana but most importantly 20% cooldown. This helps you keeping your abilities up for doing the big damage.

The Crusher - Provides 30 physical power, 20% attack speed and 15 extra physical penetration. The passive is very helpful for burst-type gods, since it gives your damaging abilities 20 extra damage + 15% your physical power over 2 seconds on enemy gods.

Hydra's Lament - Gives you 40 power, 10% CDR and some MP5. The passive on this item synergizes great with Da Ji, since her combo's include AA's. The passive provides 50% additional damage to the first AA after using an ability within 8 seconds.

Blackthorn Hammer - This is my personal preferred item. It provides 35 physical damage as well as 350 health and 200 mana. This item helps you sustain in a fight or escape a bit longer. It's passive provides you 10% extra CDR when above 25% over your mana and 50 MP5 when under 25%. Since you have an extra 350 mana (150 from Jotunn's Wrath and 200 from this item) and the 50MP5 when under 25% mana, you're spending most of the time utilizing the 10% extra CDR. This means you've capped the CDR limit (40%)

Bloodforge - Gives you a whopping 75 physical power as well as some lifesteal. When killing an enemy you receive a shield with 200 + 10 per level health and 10% bonus movement speed. At this point in the game, you're enemies do a lot a damage themselves. This shield helps you dive the backline after getting an easy kill on a squishy.

Combo's

As stated earlier, Da Ji is an easy god to learn. Her combo attacks are pretty easy to execute, since her 3 Trickster Spirit teleports you to an enemy.

Here's a list of combos that can be used:

Simple Combos (No Auto Attack Cancels) [AA = Auto Attack]

-> -> AA ->

-> -> -> AA

-> -> -> -> AA

-> -> -> -> AA

Harder Combos (With Auto Attack Cancels)

The only difference between the simple and the harder combos is the use of AA cancels.
Start your attack. Before , AA -> Cancel -> Then and AA again. Then end your combo

Extra

Want to have some fun and have guaranteed kills 95% of the time? This works easier if your team is far behind or have teammates that help you. Bait the enemy team close to your fountain, then use Paolao and pull some of them into your fountain. The fountain will do damage to them and finish them off with One Thousand Cuts

Summary

Da Ji is a high single target damage goddess that can set up teamfights, but lacks of a good escape when fully committed to a kill. Consider if going all out is needed and make the right decisions. Her combos suit both players who pick her just up and the more experienced players with her AA cancels.
