Notes War Flag has a very nice synergy with Insatiable Hunger
Always take Purification Beads or Aegis Amulet if you don't want to go wrong. Heavenly Wings, on the other hand, can be very effective against gods with a lot of mobility or a lot of slow. Blink Rune Can be used more aggressively to get closer to the enemy without using our escape.

It allows you to heal yourself in laning phase and stack minions for your ult. Always max Butcher Blades first, this allows you to have passive power and give you true dmg. To be activated before the start of a fight and its effectiveness is increased with attack speed. Regurgitate is the ultimate, to be used at the start of the fight to cripple the opposing gods. For 5s, he will have basic cone-shaped attacks (AOE). I like to lvl this when possible to reduce the cooldown. Insatiable Hunger Give you a 10s stackable buff 3 times, which gives you mouvement speed and attack speed.

Introduction

Hello everybody,

I have been a smite player since the beta, I have never done a build but always actively watch existing sites of this kind. I like to work on unconventional builds (Not Meta) for casual matches. So I present to you my first try with a build of Bakasura a little more bruiser and which gives an alternative to Hastened Katana.

The primary goal of this build is to be more resistant for 3vs3 fights in joust, while keeping the ability to stick to the opposing gods.

I hope you will have fun trying it out and leave me your comments for suggestions

If you're looking to do a guide, what I often do is check which gods don't have an updated guide or don't have a good quality guide and make one by that basis.

gonna agree with some points bran already put in there. The attempt at a slightly more bruiser Baka by swapping hastened for a frostbound is doable, but in that case I would stay closer to incorporating the qin's exe combo as those items are even more core.

another option is to fully opt into a bruiser Bakasura, especially with the joust meta more often than not being 2 bruisers. which can be done by 2 starters:
animosity or War Banner, like you said in joust upgraded starter often isn't reached because of the low exp gain as you're splitting with 3 people. Benevolence slightly changes this. the XP5 helps reach it sooner. it will however stay the late game option. banner will provide you with more fighting power. With this approach you're going to be looking at primarily items that incorporate health and attack speed. The core items of this build being: Ninja Tabi, Frostbound Hammer- Talisman of Energy. for physical defense you might think of Berserker's Shield which sin;t a bad option, but then you're going to have to round the build out with an additional physical defense item.
it might sound weird but I think you would be better of grabbing void shield leaving one spot for more of a flex pick of an item (e.g. toxic blade).

I expect this to do decently well in a joust bruiser matchup as that true damage and being hard to kill will allow you to do more damage against a double bruiser comp.

I did some testing last night with alot of variation with Animosity.

Your build presented his pretty much the more efficient, that can be tune with some situationnal items. (That I present in the build). The build really start kicking arround lvl 9-12.

Hey SirPoupo,

Welcome to the site! I'll start off the comments with some of my own.
  • I like when people do off-meta build concepts. Depending on the god, the meta can be very boring, and is often a universal "one size fits all" type of build...e.g. the current Hunter meta, which doesn't account for different god kits, steroids, etc. So I'll keep that in mind with your build, of course.

  • Now, we know that Baka doesn't have a reliable attack speed steroid; it's attached to his passive and requires killing an enemy (minion or god). So it's not good to rely on it, meaning that he needs enough AS in the rest of his kit. Your current itemization does cover that. I also think War Banner is okay...you're unlikely to be the main wave-clearer so you're mostly going to get assists, and the added MS and AS will help, though situationally. But you should indicate which upgrade you're looking to get, either in the notes or the writeup.

  • Your "off-meta" part is mostly Frostbound Hammer from what I can tell (with extra health from Toxic and War Banner), which has always been somewhat of an alternative to Hastened Katana. This is potentially okay, and in a teamfight mode like Joust, this control allows you to help your teammates apply more damage as well.

  • Now, I do have a problem with your build having no flexibility. You've got a single set build, and this is a problem when it includes an anti-heal item like Toxic Blade. Sure, healing is pretty common, but you're not necessarily going to want it in every matchup, so if anything, there should be another category for situational items, or you should show at least 2 builds, one of which would be an anti-heal build.

  • While Baka's Butcher Blades deals true damage, I still think you want a main DPS item, and I also think there should be an option for additional penetration. For DPS, when building high AS, that's usually Qin's Sais, which is obviously better against high-health gods, but is still effective against lower health enemies. For pen, in maintaining high AS, I think your standard go-to would be The Executioner. In looking at your build, the items that would be flex/situational to me would be Toxic Blade (as previously discussed) and Odysseus' Bow. Asi could be another, though I do think it's a solid item for him to provide some sustain when fighting.

  • Finally, I would say that Blink Rune should always be a relic option. It allows Baka to close distance quickly without blowing his escape.
Altogether, I think you're fine going with a slightly off-meta build, but I feel there is room for improvement of the concept. Would be curious to hear your thoughts.

I agree with you for the diversity of the builds. I add those I had in mind. (I had not seen the green cross to add choices)

There isn't much of a choice when we don't want to build Hastened Katana. You understood my choice regarding Frostbound Hammer as an alternative correctly. Regarding War Flag, I was trying to find a starter item, which we could finish before the end of the game without losing too much efficiency. Currently almost no starter items can be completed in Joust.

Regarding Blink Rune is a mistake on my part because I use it myself. To initiate fights.
