General Counters

If you decide to play rank, or playing casuals, you should keep in mind people who counter you.

[*] Agni
[*] Bastet
[*] Bakasura
[*] He Bo
[*] Ah Puch
[*] Susano

People who might give you a tough time are..
[*] Nox
[*] Zeus
[*] Raijin
[*] Ah Muzen Cab
[*] Chronos
[*] Zhong Kui
[*] Serqet

Good teamwork

Some people Chang'e works well with are..
[*] Hou Yi
[*] Ullr
[*] Medusa
[*] Ares
[*] Xing Tian
[*] Well.. almost everyone.. as long as you can aim her ultimate.

Item Counters

Please be aware that people will eventually buy anti heals or items to slow you down. Although you may still be able to deal damage, healing after recieving damage will be impacted majorly.
These items are
[*] Divine Ruin
[*] Brawler's Beat Stick
[*] Pestillence
[*] Curse

Chang'e has a bunch of mobility. Anything that can hinder that, really puts you in a bad position, because not only are you slowed but now you can't heal ( normally people build anti heal mid-game- to late )

Conclusion

That's it guys. I hope you enjoyed reading/ using my guide. Feel free to comment and recommend more things to me. This guide is also based on what I've seen so far on Playstation 4, and items I use. Good Luck! Also, credit to Zilby for the template help <3

Here's what i'd build on Chang'e Mid: Start - Restored Artifact, 1 Healing Potion, 1 Mana Potion.

Build - Shoes of Focus > Chronos' Pendant > Divine Ruin > Soul Reaver > Charon's Coin/ Obsidian Shard > Rod of Tahuti > Elixir of Speed and Soul Gem.

Build Path 2 (Doom Orb Rush):

Start - Magic Shoes, Lost Artifact, Multi Potion/ Mana Potion OR Mage's Blessing, Lost Artifact, 2 Healing Potions and 2 Mana Potions.

Build - Shoes of Focus > Doom Orb > Divine Ruin or Spear of Desolation > Soul Reaver > Charon's Coin/ Obsidian Shard > Rod of Tahuti > Elixir of Speed and Soul Gem.

There's no reason to go Book of Thoth on Chang'e unless you want to do the Thoth + Breastplate combo against heavy physical damage comps.

Please. Don’t. Build. Magus. On. Chang’e.

Why not?

Kriega1 (120) | April 9, 2020 7:13am
Because current Spear of Magus is only good on 2 gods, Anubis and Ares. Even before the rework it wasn't a great item at all on Chang'e.

because she can't utilize the passive like at all. she has no tick damage.

magus only works when you hit the same enemy multipel times in the same cast, which none of her abilities do.

Also myst I disagree. Bancroft would do much more then magus. Since chang'e has a decent scaling on her 1 and the item's passive is useable at least

Agreed.

Solo build example 1 has 50% CDR...

Also the build paths of your mid builds are quite excruciating to look at. Obs shard third item.... Both Chronos' pendant and tier 2 doom orb within first 4 items.

Nevaeh Obviously | March 20, 2019 2:59pm
what would you recommend? As a sample build? Usually i would go stacks then, boots, then cool down, then penetration and power.
1
Branmuffin17 (331) | February 28, 2019 4:55pm
If I could opt not to choose one of the sample builds, and mix and match from items listed somewhere in the build, that would be good.

At this point, I probably wouldn't consider Warlock's Sash, but I can't say I'd never ever use it. I would never consider Typhon's Fang. That's just asking for a hard anti-heal counter. I can see potential use for Soul Gem, but any time a god has healing in their kit, I hesitate to build lifesteal.

Rod of Asclepius is a nice healing boost, but Chang'e doesn't have super high healing, so I'd consider it situational, but not necessarily core.

Obsidian Shard built 3rd isn't a good idea. Too early.

I like the Chronos rush option. I'm talking the item, not the sample build #1.

Most options at the bottom are good (except probably Magus, which I don't think works that well for her, and Fal, which basically sucks), but those are all items that can be considered throughout the build.

I would prioritize maxing Moonflower instead of speckling in random levels of Moonlit. I get the idea of wanting more of Moonlit earlier, but Moonflower just offers more overall...healing and secondary damage, including triggering item passives such as Soul Reaver, Soul Gem, Gem of Isolation, Shield of Regrowth, Lotus Crown, (possibly) Ethereal Staff, Divine Ruin, etc.

Double lifesteal on Chang'e?
Plus how Artio can be major and even threat at the same time?
Also your skill leveling order seems to be a little messed up.

i fixed the threats, and i'll fix the skill leveling this week.

Hi, just a quick one to say I tried this (in Arena) after having little success with Chang'e and it works really well for me. I'd never built defence before, unless I was picking something as a counter when I was falling behind. [Hide of the Urchin]] works really well, better than stacking with Book of Thoth or Warlock's Staff (for me as I'm quite impatient) I know I'm losing power but I found myself able to stay out of the fountain a lot more and I still had enough damage to harass. Nice job, thanks for sharing ;-)

For your main Joust build I would swap around Chronos' Pendant with Spear of Desolation in the build order, and I would also switch the order of Shoes of Focus and Warlock's Staff, but only if you start with Mage's Blessing.

So for example:
Start: Mage's Blessing, Uncommon Staff, 1 Healing Potion, 2 Mana Potion.

And for full build:
Warlock's Staff, Shoes of Focus, Spear of Desolation, Chronos' Pendant (once you have this sell Mage's Blessing ) , Rod of Tahuti, Book of Thoth.

yes! i ment for items to be that way, but i do not know how to rearrange items :(
1
Kriega1 (120) | July 2, 2018 1:27am
It's simple. Remove an item (by clicking on it) and a gap will appear. That gap will then be filled by any item selected in the item browser.

IceColdPappsi (13) | February 10, 2018 7:54am
W***up. Just doin the usual site check, new Chang'e guide, clickitty click.
  1. I noticed that the build section is all wonky. To rearrange items, click on it to remove it, and then reapply as you see fit. The build itelf, double stacking is never wise, unless you are really steamrolling, then go ahead. But since your playing with dummies, I don't think you would be like, 5k ahead in gold. Also, Book of the Dead shows up twice, don't know if thats a typo or not. Just go back in and edit it.
  2. Just the guide itself, I like how used BBcoding, or more tried to. Lists are a good tool, but don't forget the [ list ] and [ / list ] (without spaces of course) before and after to apply it. Also, some ability names in the guide don't show up as icons, so make sure the names are correct. I understand how hard it is to learn guidemaking, but a crash clurse and some trial and error get you acquainted with this sites many intricacies.
Good luck with your guide.

In your 'teammates for dummies' build you dont have much pen, you're double stacking, AND you're building Book of Thoth last??
1
Kriega1 (120) | February 18, 2018 6:42am
By lategame/last item the stacks on Book of Thoth aren't that important.
1
Nevaeh Obviously | December 28, 2017 6:08pm
Yes, I would double stack. I would usually build Book of thoth 3rd and warlocks 4th item. I just didnt know how to re arrange items on this yet lol. Also, Just in case my hunter is stacking 1st item or usually 2nd. I don't build much pen in my usual build because i prioritize cooldown more. Mainly for my ultimate, which is used for starting the fights. But in some cases, the enemy team is building WAYYY more magical than physical. So i build 20% cooldown with lots of pen. I dont know if you want the items or not but yeah anyway xD, i hope this answered your concerns?

Tlaloc1050 (17) | December 29, 2017 2:02am
IMO you should start stacking earlier especially if youre double stacking. And yes it did
