Ok, so this is sort of a follow up to my arena post this morning. I have worked out some different arena builds for odin for myself and thought I would bounce them over here for feedback. I have stopped blink/ult building in Arena. I worked up some different builds trying to base them a bit off of what I saw on Bran's arena builds for him.

Balanced enemy team

Mainly physical

mainly magical

heavy counter build

I have all of these builds initially centered around hard cc because that has been a big problem in the majority of my matches lately. In the first three build the 3 spot will be used for if needed and then the 4 will be modified with an item for more cooldown if needed. The six in the first 3 builds will be for other situationals instead of as needed.

I haven't had a chance to test all builds or even the ones i have tried out of these extensively yet but the mitigation and damage taken numbers have been more acceptable to me. his damage has initially been pretty good as well.

another quick question for anyone game to answer.. I have seen some builds on site that give as an option but I haven't seen as a pen option for him. is that because attack speed isn't a big thing for him and tied to refresh on the stacks of resistance reduction?

If you want pen on Odin, you get items like Jotunn’s, Crusher or Void Shield. E.g, warrior Tabi, blackthorn, jotunn’s, void shield, oni hunter’s, spirit robe.

His main role should be an ultimate spamming, physical tank. That's literally all he's good for. Stone Cutting Sword has no place in that kind of role. Masamune works because of movement speed, health, situational defense. These are nice things to have in an ult spamming tank. You also get a large amount of power (50 power is really good) as a plus.

Also, I'm suggesting you not play Odin. He isn't very good right now. DMBrandon has him as a D Tier god. Play Achilles.

In arena he can be pretty good. I have been having, mostly, a fine old time with him. Masamune I find different ways to fit in there. Been tinkering trying to find a balanced build that works for me and figuring out where I want to put the pen in. Different depending on if against magic/physical/counter so it's still a process.

i have been using void here and there but was holding off a bit on getting too aggressive until i am more comfortable with him, but i will probably work jotunn's in at some point. I am pretty sure that a couple of Bran's relic dagger builds that i have ran had jotunn's late.

Odin doesn't have an attack progression that I know of, so he's more of an ability based character, which is why SCS isn't usually mentioned. Your basic combo is the "bird-bomb", followed by either your ult or your 3 and AS doesn't really help out with those.

also, going non blink/ult my damage taken/mitigated has gone up like 15-20k and my damage output has been about or close to double what it was.

Hmm, I would say in most instances, Pest for anti-heal isn't nearly as big of an issue in Arena as it is in longer modes like Conq. What you're trying to do when building anti-heal in Conq is allowing the damage to get to a point where they have to back (if you don't outright kill them). Sustain and being able to farm by staying out is incredibly important in those modes. In arena, not so much. This isn't to say you shouldn't get anti-heal, but in the early game, I might even say that you could easily delay Pest until later, when people have leveled up their healing skills, they've built more lifesteal, etc. And keep in mind, your ult has 100% anti-heal.

And if you'd like to go bruiser-y, you can also always consider instead.

I have a major issue with your Heavy Counter build. You've got 0 CDR in it. He's a heavy ability user. And with your shield, I don't like the in there either, though I hear you on the proliferation of CC. So I guess you can run in and just face tank things, but without enough CDR, I just don't see it as being effective in the way that I'd play Odin.

I will say, I will probably never prefer a non-Blink/Ult build for Arena over others. It is his most defining ability, and if you're able to pick and time your targets and use, it's incredibly powerful, specifically for teamfight modes like this. Only time I might back out of getting Relic Dagger (which, also remember is getting a relic CDR buff in the Mid Season patch in less than a week) is if all enemies have an escape, and I see like 3+ s at the start.

Sometimes I feel like I need early and late and then I have instances on the other team similar to me having an Aphrodite on my team that never even used her linking ability the whole match yesterday. I normally do insert brawler's as my pen late if there is a healer.

I do really like his ult, but with all the heavy cc i have been seeing lately, i usually get zerged a lot even with his ring due to lack of group support so I feel like i just have to be ready to watch my own back since my team isn't there for me a lot of the time.

I understand about the cooldowns. I do really like having them for him. I was just so frustrated yesterday when i made the builds I didn't consider it on the heavy counter build for some reason. how about for the double counter build.

I will definitely start paying more attention at the start to see if anyone builds phantom right off the bat.

Hmmm, if you're going for a heavy tank build with counter function, I'd back out of having 3 items that have strong mana sustain purposes. Blackthorn gives CDR and high MP5 at low mana. That's really more useful for Conquest, though the overall stats here are nice for the power and health as well. BoV has the CDR and high mana pool. Genji's has some CDR and high MP5. I mean, you'll never run out of mana in that situation, but this is again Arena, and you just don't need that much mana sustain. You'll miss out on other utility.

For the most part, I might get Blackthorn + Genji, or Blackthorn + BoV, but not all 3, and not BoV + Genji.

Thanks for the additional input, I will definitely try out those options. What I have is working, but just because it's working doesn't mean what you have won't work better. You have a lot more experience than me with him as well so I really appreciate the extra time you gave giving me those options.
