Introduction

Hi y'all, I'm back for a build for Scylla this season. First of all, I want to apologize to the mods for not updating this guide during Season 6. I was just very busy with life and I finally got the time to update it. Anyway guys, mages are absolute nuts in season 7. Hi-rez buff them so much, gave pen, power and cool down so they can get rid of hunters in mid lane. Please read the note as you see the items above. I hope you like it and please leave a rating if you don't mind. Thanks. :)

Items...

Quoted:
What item do I start with?

- In season 7, you can either rush Chronos' Pendant or Charon's Coin as a first item or you can skip it, go finish boots first then comeback later to your first item.
Majority of mages right now, I say pick up Chronos' Pendant and Charon's Coin all the time, probably 95%, either that or some mage go Doom Orb.

Quoted:
What boots should I get?

-Both are great item, however if you are rushing Chronos' Pendant, it would be better if you stick to Shoes of the Magi so you get a lot of power. If decide to go Shoes of Focus, yes you will have more cool down but less power.

Quoted:
Why Phythags?

- I personally like the magical life steal and the newly added penetration to it. Note this item no longer has cool down in it.

Quoted:
Soul Reaver?

- Soul Reaver right now is very good, a ton of magical power and now it has penetration.

Rod of Tahuti is a great item for last item. Again, a ton of magical power with this item. You gonna be one shotting people with it.

Optional items:

Typhon's Fang can also be a great item for replacing Spear of Desolation or Rod of Tahuti. It's up to you.

Divine Ruin This item is pretty straight forward. If you are laning against a healer, pick it up. It will shut them down pretty easily.

Sic 'Em (1st Ability) - You want to level this ability after you're done with Crush. Later in the game. This will do a lot of damage. At max rank, Scylla summons two hounds if they are close together.

Crush (2nd Ability) - You pretty much want to start with Crush. This will give you her minion clearing in the early stage. Late game, this ability deals a ton! you are also slows while in the circle and have the enemies' protection reduce.

Sentinel (3rd Ability) - (!!!) Do not focus this ability that much.

I'm a Monster (Ultimate) - As long as you focus on 1st, 2nd and your ultimate. You should be fine. Late game, this deals a 1000 damage with full build! :)

Quick Learner (Passive) (RECENTLY CHANGED) -It's pretty much a free magical power. Each abilities gain 25 Magical Power for each max rank. Total of 100 Magical Power.

Combos

Scylla's has 3 combos. Follow the Icon below. This is how you use Scylla kit. Make sure you hit them all for that sweet sweeeeeet sweeeet damage!

> >

>
(Note: This combo alone can one shot someone in late game w/ full build.)

Tips/Advice

First advice I can give you it's a no brainer, if you're playing Scylla please focus on squishy targets. Don't go after tanks like Support or Warriors (Tanks), they will most likely build magical protection against you. I would advice you to focus on Mage, Hunter and Assassin if you can. Only attack tanks if you know they are like 6-7 levels behind you or maybe later in the game when it's time to push objectives or grouping up as a team.

Second advice is if you are getting gank a lot by the jungler and dying to mid lane a lot. I would recommend warding your lane. This is a very common strategy and it will help you not to feed in the game. At least stay behind towers, communicate with your jungler, talking trash and spamming vgs is not gonna help you win your game. Just try to be patient, farm as much as possible and come back later in the game.

Informative Videos

If you are looking to know more about Scylla and want to get better at her. Why not watch a couple of videos where I learn to play her? Keep in mind, this will only give you a general idea on how to use her. I strongly advice not to follow their build due to the items changes from Season 3 to Season 5. Anyway, here's some very informative videos and a little bit funny stuff as well. If you are new to the game I advice to watch some vids. :)

Conclusion

In the end, Scylla is pretty fun to play. She is always known for her late game status. Anyway before I go I just want to mention that I don't have any history when it comes to coding this guide, I pretty much follow the SmiteFire guide for coding. I tried to make it neat as much as possible. I hope you guys find this guide helpful. Please take one second to rate the guide if you like it. Thank You and have fun with this build!

Capping CDR, getting Bancrofts and not Poly on Scylla... I can’t recommend this build at all.

In Regards to Build 2 (Joust/Clash/Siege) Season 4:

I generally like the build, but in a perfect world. It almost seems like an "unobtainable" build to an extent. In total, it's going to be 15,500 Gold, not including any Consumables you may want; which is pretty pricey in Joust, Clash, and Siege.

My first recommendation would be to switch Spear of Desolation with Obsidian Shard. Maybe you're picking-up Spear of Desolation for the CDR or to keep all the Pentration as "Flat" Penetration, but all-in-all, I just don't think this item gives the bang for its buck; I'm just not completely sold on this item even with the changes it has gone through. You can retain the same CDR by picking-up Shoes of Focus (but you'll lose early Pen), and will be generally more effective against tankier Gods with Obsidian Shard.

Second, would be Bancroft's Talon. I like this item, don't get me wrong, but other items can over shadow it. I would recommend picking-up Polynomicon over Bancroft's Talon for the sole reason of having that extra MP on your next basic attack. How many times as Scylla have you used Sic 'Em and Crush and the bloody bastard is on 1HP (figuratively)? Too many to even talk about. With Polynomicon, you greatly improve your finishing ability in general and when and opponent uses Meditation Cloak if your combo can't do the job.

Third, I would pick-up Rod of Tahuti before Soul Reaver. When buying an item like Soul Reaver I'd like to have as much power as possible already online. By grabbing Soul Reaver 5th, you are limiting the output the item can do initially.

Lastly, I like Soul Reaver, but only if I'm ahead, and under certain circumstances. If you're looking for a "Bonus Damage" item, I'd opt for Ethereal Staff instead. With Soul Reaver, I assume you were looking to get Bonus Damage Procs on Crush? Soul Reaver will only allow you to do this every 40 seconds where Ethereal Staff hit every 10 seconds. The next argument some would make would be "but Murmz, Soul Reaver hits for 10%, and Ethereal Staff only hit for 5%." Don't worry I got you covered...this is true, but in a span of 40 seconds, Ethereal Staff will Proc 4 times where Soul Reaver will only Proc 1 time, making Ethereal Staff the more effective, and damaging item.

With all that said, the Final Build is looking like this:

Book of Thoth
Shoes of the Magi
Obsidian Shard
Polynomicon
Rod of Tahuti
Ethereal Staff

Again, this is sort of what I've been using w/ her in Season 4, so please take it with a grain of salt. XD

I think Ethereal Staff is better than Soul Reaver in pretty much every way.

Cheaper, only 10 power less, extra health and CCR, and you can get 10% of the passive in 10 seconds as opposed to the 40 seconds of Soul Reaver. So I think it's almost always a better option to build Ethereal Staff over Soul Reaver, unless you're dying to get that 10 extra power.

Exactly the point I wanted to make, but didn't want to say. I personally agree with you, and feel Ethereal Staff is better. I like Ethereal Staff even more when stacking Book of Thoth.

If you stack Book of Thoth with Soul Reaver, the 300 Mana that comes with it is virtually useless (in a sense).

I will edit my comment and make a more definitive stance on the last item.

Ucan tell ur not a good scylla player just of the fact u put a 2nd point into the ulkt instead of maxing ur crush first, and then going on to max the sic em

I don't know that you would determine the skill of a player by a 2 level order "inefficiency." You do have a point...but making that point doesn't require you to insult someone. I don't really get how some people can be so quick and comfortable saying these kinds of things to people they don't know.

In any case, Ron, Noah has a point... Scylla's passive makes her leveling order different than others...normally with most gods where leveling the ult whenever possible is a given, it's a no-brainer. However, in this case, if you were to level Crush at 9 instead of making I'm a Monster level 2, you trade a 100 damage increase (+120% scaling) from a base 90s CD ult for:
  1. 55 damage increase (+90% scaling) on a base 10s CD ability
  2. 20 power increase from Quick Learner for maxing Crush
  3. 25% penetration from Crush being at max rank
As such, optimal order level would probably be Crush at 9, I'm a Monster at 10, then additionally Sic 'Em at 13, and I'm a Monster at 14. You could even consider delaying more than 1 point into your ult until after you've maxed Sic 'Em as well, which would mean it would be maxed at 12, and your 2nd point into your ult would be level 13.

That said, that depends a bit on how much you value your ult. Even though it has a long CD, let's say you're great at hitting it...if ~100 damage might mean the difference in getting a kill and not, well, it might be worth the extra point in the ult if you're able to chain multiple kills often.

I also missed this detail...guess I'm not a good Scylla player either (in fact, I'm not, hahaha).

I really like your builds! It has very nice damage in these game modes, and late game is beautiful. Stacking is one of my favorite things to do on Scylla, since the stacking items are usually stronger than the ones that don't.

Having fun with this build. One slight suggestion for you to try out. For skills, maxing Crush (2) quickly can add damage because of the increase power and the lowering of targets magical resistance. You get slightly better damage overall by skipping the second I'm A Monster (4) and taking Crush to level 5 first.
