Abilities and how to use

Passive - Rapid Reincarnation

When exiting the fountain, Jing Wei prepares for takeoff and then ascends into the sky, allowing her to fly over obstacles at an increased speed with CC immunity. Jing Wei can decline to fly by using the cancel key on her way out of the fountain.

Her passive allows Jing Wei to have way more sustain than other hunters because she can literally back after every wave and get to the lane fast enough for the next minion wave.
Rapid Reincarnation also allows Jing Wei to play in the middle lane because she will be able to rotate quicker than any other god in the game.
Note: You can use Rapid Reincarnation when you leave the ENEMY fountain!

1st Ability - Persident Gust

Jing Wei creates a gust of wind that damages enemies and knocks up enemy gods when summoned. The gust persists for 6s and continues to knock up and deal additional damage to enemies every 1s.

If Jing Wei walks onto the area she is knocked into the air and gains an attack speed buff for 7s.

This ability allows Jing Wei to deal alot of damage to enemies from the distance and is also very strong when chasing someone down by either placing it in front of him or into jungle entrances. After using Persistent Gust, you will have the opportunity to chase your enemy down even easier by knocking yourself up and using Agility.
This combo gives you a 40% attack speed buff and a Hastened Fatalis effect that will improve your chasing and boxing potential. It will also allow you to get away easier.

2nd Ability - Explosive Bolts

Jing Wei loads her crossbow with explosive bolts that augment her next 3 Basic Attacks. These attacks are wider, have increased critical chance, and deal area of effect damage.

Explosive Bolts is a really good ability to clear camps and waves quickly. Since the removal of Golden Bow, Jing Wei is the only hunter that is able to do aoe damage basic attacks, thanks to this ability. It is really strong in team fights and can do alot of damage to multiple targets. Use Explosive Bolts to clear waves and confirm basic attacks on enemy gods.

3rd Ability - Agility

Jing Wei dashes straight forward and gains a 3s immunity to basic attack movement penalties. She may use this ability while knocked into the air for a longer range dash and a 6s immunity to basic attack movement penalties.

Agility allows you to dash out of knock ups, which is a big deal because you are basically immune to a hard crowd control. Normaly this ability gives you the Hastened Fatalis passive as a buff for 3s. If you use Agility after being knocked up however the duration of the buff will be increased to 6s. Use the 1+3 combo to chase down enemies or to escape.

Ultimate - Air Strike

Jing Wei channels briefly before taking to the sky. She then flies forward and upward while covering the area below her in explosions that damage all enemies in the area. After her attack she hovers for up to 2s before landing at a ground target location.

Jing Wei's Ultimate ability is good to take down enemies that are trying to run away.
It can also be used in team fights, dealing enough damage to make your team be in an advantage. Air Strike is one of the safest tower diving abilities in Smite and should be used on low health targets that are running into their tower. It can also be used as an escape and is especially strong in the jungle since you can use it trough walls.

Explanation of the build

STARTER ITEMS

Shuriken

This item costs 900 gold and gives you 15 Physical power and is picked to be able to rush wind demon.

Boots

This item costs 300 gold and gives you a little bit of movement speed and will only be upgraded after wind demon is equipped.

These two items will cost 1200 in total and allow you to buy 3 Mana Potion's and 3 Healing Potion's which will help you to stay in the lane almost, if not long enough to finish your wind demon. It doesnt matter since your enemy will back anyway and you can buy your 8-Pointed Shuriken. After you have time to back again you can finish your wind demon and maybe even get Combat Boots.

FINAL BUILD

wind demon
wind demon

Wind demon will give you a great early kill potential and clear with Explosive Bolts at rank 1 while maxing Persistent Gust for even better clear and for damaging your enemy safely. It will also allow you to rank up Agility, which leads to extremely high mobility because you can use it more often. wind demon's passive grants you with 20% attack and movement speed, allowing you to chase down targets easier and also having more DPS.

Warrior Tabi

Warrior Tabi is an item that is in almost any build. You better pick Warrior Tabi over Ninja Tabi for better clear and sell it for Ninja Tabi in the late game for more DPS. If you are building Asi though, you should not sell Warrior Tabi for Ninja Tabi because you will overcap your attack speed by 18%, making Persistent Gust half as effective as it could have been. If you want to build Ninja Tabi, you should sell Asi for Bloodforge in the late game to get maximum DPS.

Jing Wei's attack speed:
Lv. 1: 1.01
Lv. 20: 1.28
Max. AS from items: 85%
Without Persistent Gust: 2.1

Asi

Asi is a cheap lifesteal item that gives you its full potential without needing any stacks. It gives you incredible lifesteal with its passive and 20% attack speed for an amazing boxing potential. It also gives you 15 flat penetration, which will help you with tanky targets. And then we have Devourer's Gauntlet which gives you more lifesteal than Asi when fully stacked if you dont count Asi's passive in and Bloodforge, which can be swapped with Asi if you want to sacrifice lifesteal for more power and a good passive. If you want to use Devourer's Gauntlet instead of Asi, you should get Ichaival right after that because Devourer's Gauntlet has no attack speed and The Executioner would take too long since you need the attack speed as soon as possible. You can sell Devourer's Gauntlet for Bloodforge and you should swap Warrior Tabi with Ninja Tabi in the late game. Ichaival should also be swapped with Qin's Sais in the late game.

The Executioner

There are two percentage penetration items. The Executioner and Titan's Bane.
Jing Wei is a basic attack god, which means that she will make use of The Executioner's passive all the time. Going for Titan's Bane means sacrificing 25% attack speed, 3% penetration and a big support to your team.

Deathbringer

Now this is the point where you just annihilate EVERYTHING on the map. Jing Wei deals so much burst damage with Deathbringer, that she doesnt need more than a few shots to kill a squishy target, thanks to its passive. Some people like to build Malice instead, which i would not recommend. You can still build it if you really want it though. Poisoned Star is also an option to improve your teamfight potential or if you want to have more crowd control and reduce an enemy's damage output.

Qin's Sais

Going for Qin's Sais increases your DPS drastically against quardians, warriors and other high health targets. Some people like to go tripple crit on Jing Wei but she does not need that because of Explosive Bolts, however if everyone in the enemy team is squishy, going for a different item might be better (maybe tripple crit).

Gods that she counters/counter her

She counters:
Ao kuang
Loki
Annyone that has a knock up.
(She can dash out of awilix' knock if she dashes fast enough)

Gods that counter her:
#1 AWILIX, i dont have to explain anything i guess.
Freya
He bo
(Because she benefits from mobility)

Good team comps. Ending :p

Note: Jing wei is an amazing god with an amazing passive which allows her to do decent in mid lane. She can back every wave and come back with full health/mana which makes her unkillable if she doesnt get ganked. She will also not lose the lane because her clear is very good. You can do good comps as a carry but you can also do a supp-mid-jungle comp which works amazing.

(Joust 3v3) bacchus + Jing wei + awilix: jing and bacchus knock up awilix pulls.

(Conquest carry) Jing wei + athena: athena taunts, jing wei uses her 1, enemy flying into minions...0:38 FIRST BLOOD.
And if someone is trying to escape with low health: athena dashes taunts and jing ults.
Also shield wall damage + jings 1 drop like 2/3 of enemys health.

(Conquest mid) jing wei + susano + athena/fafnir:
Athena ults on susano or fafnir ults in susanos tornado. susano keeps someone in his ult, jing wei ult.
All 3 ults = 100-0 even if they are more then 1.
They beads out? Susano uses his ult smart. Pulls them back after beads are down.
They use sanctuary? Susano waits until its down and strikes with his ult. enemy still takes damage from both jing wei and susano even if they tanked fafnirs/athenas ult.

Thanks for taking your time to read this guide. I hope it helped you out. Have fun with jing wei!

Shiruken gives 15 power same as deathstoll. The passive of deathstoll is great sure but a few pots can replace it. You can also back fast enough if you have health or mana problems. The reason why i go for wind demon early and rank up my 2 as last one is because 1. it makes your basic attacks incredibly strong for the early game and makes you do tons of damage even in the early game which can help you alot. 2. it helps you clear alot faster and poke at the same time because you can rank up your 1 and with explosive bolts at rank 1 you can hit as many crits as Rank 3 explosive bolts. 3. its passive replaces an attack speed item and the movement speed if you are chasing someone down. I use asi because it is a good lifesteal item that gives you decent flat pen and good attack speed. I personally dont use devs because i think the attack speed on the asi increases both your dps and lifesteal and even if you swap warrior with ninja, devs are more expensive and selling warrior will make you lose money. Devs + ninja and asi + warrior give almost exactly the same dps its just a bit of a gold difference. Overall after you got wind demon, no hunter will have a chance to outbox you if you hit alot of basics.
I hope that my guide will be clearer in the future to make you unterstand why i go for this build.
Thanks for your support !

Welcome!

I'm going to guess you're (relatively) new, so first off, welcome to SMITEfire! We hope you'll stay with our community for a long time, place your own input, help your fellow SMITE players, and take part in various discussions around the place!

Jump into it: Your guide!

I guess you're not here for funny speeches, so I'll get straight to the point: your guide.
Since you're new to SMITEfire, it's understandable your guide won't be as "fancy" as others, but in due time, I believe you can make excellent guides.

I will list every point I want to make about your guide here, in points, ironically.

- Guide information: Your information provided is decent. You provide a lot of information regarding Jing Wei, which would ultimately be the goal of the guide.

- BB coding: Since you're new, and this is a first guide, it's understandable that [ you don't know about / don't know how to use / don't want to use ] BB-coding. However, BB-coding is a very important part to any "guide". Even the simplest of guides should have some form of BB-coding. It makes reading easier and more enjoyable.

- The build: I don't play Jing Wei actively, so I cannot judge the build.

- Information - Expanded: While your general information is sufficient and good, there are some problems. For example, you are very confusing in the "Who counters ..." section.
Example: You mention that He Bo counters her, but then you say: "Because she benefits from mobility". Does He Bo counter Jing Wei or vice versa? Be more clear on this.
There's also a lot of other valuable information you could add to the guide.
Example: An abilities section. Explain what the abilities do, when to level/use them and how to combo them. Also an items section where you explain why you should pick your items over any other and explaining the item benefits would be nice.

Overall, the guide provides "decent" amount of information, but you can do SO much more with this.

Your BB-code starting handbook!

I've used this for a few people now. I myself made a small spoiler that gives the basic BB-coding information. I'm going to drop this here for you also, so you can make use of it, and hopefully improve this guide or use it in other guides you make, should you do so.

Well it's a good thing i'm here. >c<

Build

6/10

Your build's starter items are still really weak in comparison to other items hunters could build. Early game movement isn't a priority. You're most likely not going to be ganked or poked by the enemy jungler and adc, so skipping the boots and working into cheaper items would be beneficial. The problem is that crit is SOOO expensive, it's the type of thing you wait until late game to get, because early cheap and effective items are so much more viable.
I still recommend death's toll, because if you look at it like there's two Jing Wei's in the duo lane, the one with death's toll has the clear advantage. You have potions in your build as well, but one of the great things about this girl is that her passive nullifies the use of them entirely! But if you are still building early crit, then buying early lifesteal, and upgrading your Explosive Bolts first would help your health and mana pool greatly (As upgrading Explosive Bolts first does not increase its mana cost, and would work better with your early crit.)

Focus more on lane clear and sustain. At most wait until your Explosive Bolts is maxed before going into crit. That's my take on it.

Slot 2: Warrior Tabi's fine here. Sometimes you can even build items before getting this, but no need to get that technical.

slot 3: Asi... I dislike this item for a few reasons. It's bad with the lack of power, meaning less lifesteal, but good because of the attack speed, passive, and price tag. One of the major issues is that when you build this, you lose the potential in Ichaival. There's next to no power in this setup.

The rest of the items are fine. To it's own extend you'd build them at some point or another.

Guide

8/10

The guide itself has much better BB-code now! I was much more interested in reading this guide now that you've spiced things up!!

I can see this build working well for a mid laner Jing Wei, not much in the duo as you'll be forced out all too frequently.

+1, not bad, but i'd like to see more. Keep up the good work! >c<
