How does this sound:
Shoes of the Magi
Breastplate of Valor
Void Stone
Relic Dagger
Spirit Robe
Gem of Isolation or any other damage item of your choice. I picked this because it has CCR and health: good for bruisers.
Blink Rune
Magic Shell are good relics. If you do not trust your team, you can get Purification Beads.
Bran/Gulf, thoughts?!
[Edit]: you're overcapping CDR by 10% with your build, Gary.
20 from breastplate
10 from relic dagger
10 from spirit robe
Shoes of magi was chosen to satisfy author's desire to do damage.
xing was buffed where he does damage for each spin and the throw. So enemies will be slowed for 2 seconds after they are thrown. I am guessing it takes about 1 second for them to land. So effective slow duration is 1s (i think). Which is still pretty good if you can hook at least 3 enemies. But understand that I get power CCR and Health from gem of iso. That satisfies author's desire to do damage while letting xing be an effective bruiser.
Wanna play a burst mage or assassin? Play something like susano or zeus. Do not try to fill this role with a tank.
Lastly, I invite u to give me your gamertag. I wish to look at your match history.
Same here. This build *could* work if you had someone on your team to keep the enemy busy, but I don't see it working at all if the enemy team is focusing on you.
As he said, he likes it best for fun, and when there's a dedicated tank.

I chose 2 of the better matches in terms of representing his general offensive concept.
There are others I didn't choose where he didn't do well, and it looks very hit or miss, not just on Xing but in general. And this is what we would expect.
And I bet you Taço could make this work sometimes.
If he was saying that this is an overall Xing strat, fine, you've got a point. But that's not the case. You play him more like a close engage mage and pick and choose your battles. This is like newbiemj's Serqet tank build or a glass cannon Athena build (that Salad has used to great effect)...you don't play them the same way. Don't argue about doing the normal Xing thing. That point has already been made and agreed upon, and you going back and forth is beating a dead horse, which maybe you like because you're an animal hater or something, but I'm not. I love animals.
And just to clarify...I wouldn't build like this, even if I wanted to go damage.
In S5, I'd get Shoes of the Magi, Void Stone, Relic Dagger, Celestial Legion Helm, Soul Reaver, and Ethereal Staff or Spirit Robe or Gem of Isolation or Mantle of Discord maybe. I wouldn't get Tahuti because his scaling sucks for the most part.
In S6, I'd probably drop Reaver due to the nerf.
Yea i guess Ethereal Staff would work too since it gives health and CCR
I suggest in no particular order:
I would only get Rod of Tahuti and Soul Reaver on burst mages who can confirm their damage from a distance like Zeus and Nu Wa. That and most people don't build much health so the passives of those two are a bit wasted. If you're facing a tanky team, then I'd say they would be worth looking at.
I hope this helps you, Gary. Like I said, my knowledge is a bit rusty, but this should be a good start.
BUT...although I get the concept of Shaman's Ring + Relic Dagger to cover MS...I'd absolutely bypass Shaman's, which is meant for damage potential, and just get either Reinforced Shoes or Shoes of Focus. Again, Shaman's is just a damage potentiator, and that's not Xing's main function. Well, I guess in this particular build it is...but I honestly would never build this way. I'm probably boring like that, but I'd only build him as a traditional tank.
So...the glass cannon damage build is actually pretty functional that way, but if I see a Xing build that way, I'm going to tell my team to blow him up. But I'm pretty sure this person gets some good damage and kills.
However, if you play him like he was meant be played, then yes relic dagger should be core in arena.
It sounds like you're assuming he's going to do the normal Xing thing and be the initiator, blinking into a group of enemies and taking some heat before he throws X # of enemies back toward his teammates.
However, if you're watching the enemy team and know when their beads/escapes are down, this helps you pick select enemies that might already be distracted or separated from their team. With a high damage build, he could even use it as a single target control to isolate and finish an enemy.
Of course, that's not his best use as we all agree. Looking at the scaling on his abilities (ult excluded) makes it pretty clear that his best use is high CDR for ability spamming, and building pen over power to help his base damage. High power doesn't benefit him nearly as much as many other gods.
