Hunter's Cowl will provide us with the lifesteal we need, 60 power, 20% attack speed, 15 MP5, and an insane 25% attack speed aura. If you are not near a teammate, you are granted 10% movement speed
Ichaival will provide you with 80 power at maximum stacks, 30% attack speed, and slows enemy attack speed by 21%, this is an insane early power spike. As you will have 35% attack speed with
Leather Cowl
Odysseus' Bow provides us with 40% attack speed at a very cheap price of 2100 gold, not only that, but it provides us with an awesome passive. The passive is that every fourth basic attack triggers a chain lightning that damages nearby targets which help with boxing and wave clear. This item is a killer in team fights as the enemy's health zap down drastically.
Atalanta's Bow provides 25% attack speed (45% attack speed with passive proc), 40 power, and 10% pen, with 30% less movement penalty to backpedaling, attacking, and strafing with the passive proc.
Qin's Sais provides us with good power, attack speed, and extra damage to high-health enemies.
Titan's Bane provides you with 40 power and 20% penetration, plus your first ability is granted 20% additional penetration every 10 seconds. We are building this mostly for 20% pen that we will be getting on our auto attacks, that make us SHRED tanks and objectives much faster.

Asi provides 25 power, 20% lifesteal, 25% attack speed, and 15 flat pen. The passive adds up to 35% lifesteal in total, this is triggered when you go below 30% health and this can only occur every 15 seconds.
Wind Demon provides 25 power, 15% attack speed, and 20% critical strike chance. With the passive, for every time you hit a critical strike, your attack speed is increased by 15%, movement speed by 10%, and 10% penetration.
Deathbringer provides us with 50 power, 25% critical strike, and the passive increases crit damage by 30%. This is a very expensive item but will make you hit like a truck in the late game.

Be sure to combo your abilities by the following:
Place
Shifting Sands behind your enemy and then
Impale them into it
or
Disperse into them, this will knock them up, and you can
Impale them into a wall or the
Shifting Sands that you placed before the leap if you're more advanced with it.

The others deal some ridiculous amounts of damage in a short time, Anhur seems to not be able to deal much damage, even to mages and fellow hunters (I'll admit it deals a nice sustained damage to bulky targets, even Athena and Belona with their 100% damage reduction to AA, especially compared to the other hunters I mentioned)
- These builds were more viable a few patches ago. I wouldn't go with these builds right now, as this hasn't been updated in months and they're probably not optimal. Question: do you check enemy ADC builds during/after the game? If you can recall, what have they been building typically?
- If you want a general, more current ADC build to try, check the ADC chapter in my Conquest guide here.
Anhur is considered an early-game god, at least with regard to his damage potential in comparison to some of the more late-game hunters like Art. In order to take advantage of this, you need to play pretty aggressively in the early game. If you're trying to find your first main hunter, is it possible that you're playing a bit timid, or just not comfortable with the game mechanics or other details in general that might not allow you to play in an aggressive way?
- One key to getting bonus damage is to trap the enemy in his
Shifting Sands, which also should allow you to more easily connect with your basics due to the slow.
- How would you evaluate your skill level with regard to using his skills well? This build set doesn't provide any details on using his skills, so if you're not using them well, that can be a big difference-maker.
Impale into either his pillar or a wall to get the stun, that's a big loss of potential.
Impale.
- In a general sense, you want to also avoid damage as much as possible. Poke when you can, avoid taking damage you can anticipate. For example, don't stand in the minion wave when facing gods that use line wave clear like Charyb or cone wave-clear like Medusa...stay away from the minions overall against Art, so she has to choose to blow her best wave-clear on either the minions or you.
There are a ton of other things we could potentially cover here, but that might be a start. I don't know your experience level so it's a bit hard to advise. Hope this helps. If you're not finding yourself able to use his
You can use his leap if enemies are attempting to gank you by jumping straight up and down, which can also be used to avoid incoming damage if you can anticipate well.
You can use his leap on enemies, which creates a knockup. That knockup immobilizes them to the point where if you're quick enough, you can then combo w/
If you hit 5 before the enemy, take as much advantage of that as possible. If they don't have an escape, use it on them if they're hurt at all and go for a kill. If they do have an escape, try to have it baited out so you can use your ult without them getting out of range, etc.
You're going to get way less overall from the meta bow build (Cowl, Ich, Ata, Silver, Qin's, O-Bow) if you've got a god like
As Kriega said, you're looking at a different power curve when you go with a crit build. Bow builds start early with
