Baron Samedi throws his snake forward, wrapping any enemy god hit and dealing damage every .5s for 2.5s and applying a ramp to root.

If a god hit is above 30 Hysteria, the snake will also lash out at nearby enemy gods who stand too close after 1s. Enemies hit by this are injected with venom that applies a ramp to root and deals the full damage over time immediately.

4 Y
Baron Samedi pulls the souls of the living towards his Coffin, becoming immune to Crowd Control and taking 50% reduced damage. Enemy gods within range are caught in a Vortex, dragging them towards the Coffin and take damage every .33s. When an enemy god reaches the coffin their soul is ripped out, causing them to be stunned, take a large amount of damage based on their maximum health and gain max Hysteria. This ability persists for 3.5s or until an enemy god is pulled to the coffin.

If targets being pulled are above 30 Hysteria, the pull strength is increased.

Chapter Title

This build works for most mages in my experience but for him in arena its unstoppable. The first game i played as him i used this build and finished with 15 kills and only 4 deaths so your survivabilty is quite high and the damage you do with your 1-2-3 combo after landing a first hit with a basic kill most gods instantly. Hope you guys enjoy this build as much as i do!

There really is no need for Doom Orb when you can get Bancroft's Talon.

Build order is horrible. Levelling order is wrong. You overcap cooldown reduction. Your main magical penetration is an item for attack speed mages.

I will suggest an improved build in a simlar style to the original one: Shoes of the Magi, Chronos' Pendant, Soul Reaver, Spear of the Magus, Breastplate of Valor, Rod of Tahuti.

What I would actually build for Arena: Bancroft's Talon, Shoes of the Magi, Chronos' Pendant, Spear of the Magus, Typhon's Fang, Soul Reaver.

I will have to agree with the general assessment.
  • Leveling is way all over the place. You typically want to target one skill to prioritize. In this case, it's likely to be Vivid Gaze, due to the lower CD and easy poke potential. In a teamfight mode like Arena, you may decide to prioritize Consign Spirits, though, to offer more support to nearby teammates. This would be up to you. Just wouldn't suggest your current leveling order of continually varying leveling in a cascade.

  • Arguable, perhaps, but I don't usually feel Mage's Blessing is worth it in Arena. If I were to go with a blessing, I'd consider either Attacker's Blessing or Specialist's Blessing...Attacker's is nice for the early pen, while Specialist's (my likely pref for Baron) is great for the early CDR and eventual MS.

  • Continuing, I like the additional MS due to Baron lacking an escape. I'm guessing this is why you have Breastplate of Valor in your build...to offer some protection and survival. But BoV is helpful against physical gods only, and you may be encountering an enemy comp with higher magical threat. BoV then would be significantly less functional.

  • And yeah, you're overcapping CDR. Don't do that. I suggest dropping BoV as a standard item. I do feel Chronos' Pendant is a key item for him here, and would prefer building it earlier. You can keep Shoes of Focus if you'd like, but might appreciate a bit more pen from Shoes of the Magi. Keep in mind, you've got additional options for more CDR. Potion of Magical Might gives you 10% CDR for 3 minutes (or until death), and you can also pick up the Mana buff, which also gives you 10% CDR (but for 2 minutes).

  • Very strongly suggest against Demonic Grip. He's not a boxer like Freya, and you're just asking to be completely blown up if you're trying to get function out of this item. Yeek. In addition, you got Rod of Tahuti 4th, which really hurt your power curve and delayed your effectiveness. You mention that the first game you played him, you went 15/4. I would guess that either the skill level of the opposing team was low / your team's was high, the enemy team absolutely didn't know how to play against Baron, or both. If playing against me, I can guarantee that we'd be focusing you. Lack of escape in his kit, only protection is built late, etc., and building items that really don't go with his kit or are in a non-efficient order = juicy target.

  • Unlike Kriega, I would prefer a tankier version of Baron rather than a glass cannon. If I could do it in my comp, I'd consider stacking Warlock's Staff and probably pick up Mantle of Discord. That combo would help keep me alive and in the middle of a teamfight. The other items I'd consider core would be Shoes, Chronos' Pendant, and Spear of the Magus. The last item slot would be situational.

Baron is great built tanky especially with items like warlocks, gem of iso and rod of asclepius however I feel like Warlocks just isn't worth it in arena with how bad it makes your early game and the likely chance your stacks will be stolen.

so after reading your post i reworked the build and tried it in a game for updating my post (dont wanna post something without trying it first) and i have to agree this works much better i do believe the BoV is interchangeable depending on the opposing teams set up but for now ima keep it out

and i know i butchered the leveling order in all i honest i should have just left it out until i knew for sure

looking at the build now whats your opinion
