Introduction

Hello guys, this is my second guide and if anyone is interested, check out my Anubis guide :D Well since if anyone read my previous guide, they will know that I will accept all forms of criticism. They can be positive or negative comments, and if I receive a downvote tell me why so I can improve my guide and make adjustments. Thank you for your time and I hope you find the guide useful :DDD

Pros/Cons

Watcher's Gift
Pros
1.Her passive allows her to move either direction with no movement speed penalty.
2.Her ult Petrify can do wondrous things if used correctly. Def one of my fav ults in Smite.
3.Her Acid Spray can clear minions well later and can be used to attack enemies with an additional angle due to the cone projection.
4.Decent escape with Lacerate

Cons
1.Can die pretty easy. Not as squishy as mages are, but still relatively squishy.
2.Her viper shots require skillshots. Missing them all can leave you in a vulnerable situation.
3.Her ult Petrify is almost useless if the enemy isn't directly facing you. Damage is halved and no stun.

Items

Warrior Tabi I go for this just because it offers more physical power and for Medusa that's a plus.

Transcendence= Build this item first or second depending on you so you can start building stacks from early on. Medusa is mana hungry from early on will need this item to keep her sustained. Plus the passive will come in handy later when Medusa starts to turn crazy :3

Bloodforge= I build this item for sustainability with it's lifesteal and it grants a nice physical power boost as well. The passive allows you to build 3 stacks where you gain physical power and lifesteal increase for 4 sec for every successful basic attack.

Hastened Fatalis Now this is my favorite item for Medusa. This is what will make you Medusa Queen. As long as you are hitting a target, your movement speed while shooting basic attacks won't be hindered. Plus with Medusa's passive of no movement speed penalty, you will move even faster. You will become agile like Green Arrow and be able to keep up with those who run away as long as you're hitting them. You also get a nice 30% ATK speed.

The Executioner This will increase physical penetration and adding more ATK speed. With this your are near becoming Oliver Queen. You shoot as fast and move as fast as Mr.Queen ,but the damage is not yet complete.

Deathbringer HEHEHEHE here it is. With this final item, you WILL become the GREEN ARROW. The crits will be doing good damage and with your ATK speed really high, those crits will come up quite often. Now go, and protect your CITY!!!!

Situational/Substitutions

Rage You can build this along with Deathbringer and replace another item for it. I do sometimes to increase damage capacity and go wreck the scum that infests the city.

Devourer's Gauntlet You can build this instead of Bloodforge to increase the amount of stacks and while this is a good thing, it takes time to build up stacks and if you are having a tough time killing minions then this item will not help you to it's fullest potential.

Qin's Sais You can replace another item for this one if the enemy team has more than one guardian such as Ares, Ymir, Geb or they have multiple tanky characters such as Tyr, Odin, Sun Wukong, Guan Yu or a combination of both.

Malice Now this item is up to your thoughts and combinations, but if you want a high risk/high reward Medusa build this along with Rage Deathbringer and you will just kill everything in your path provided you are skilled and confident enough. A more detailed build using this will be made available in the near future.

Actives
Combat Blink This will be your last resort escape move. With this you will become as elusive as a spy unless you get triple teamed. You already have an escape with Lacerate. This is meant for activating it after you used the ability and still being chased/attacked. You now have two tricks up your sleeve to escape.

Greater Purification This is a must have for CC counter. Anytime you get caught in CC, you use this to escape. Or if you are feeling daring, you use it to escape the CC and directly attack the God who used that CC ;)

With both of these actives and your build, you are the Green Arrow with the elusiveness of The Magician :DD If played right you will keep killing and never be caught or defeated. With the crits, ATK speed and these actives, you are a force to be reckoned with.

Maximum Killing potential build

Now this build I only recommend to players who use Medusa well or just use hunters in general well because this build is a high risk/high reward situation. This is basically a hunter's version of a "glass cannon", your damage output is menacing and if you have a rhythm going and you're heating up in kills, you will attract Thanatos to reap all the souls you leave behind in your wake. Yet this has a huge flaw is that you are defenseless and literally will die faaa***sstt because since you are putting basically everything into crits and power you are leaving other areas very low and weak. So it's up to you how you play this and here we go

Tools for killing

Ninja Tabi Build this for some physical power and a Movement and Attack speed increase. Some of you if you wish can replace this for Warrior Tabi, it's all up to the player.

Transcendence Builds physical power and it's passive is great with it's stacks. For every minion kill you gain 1 stack and 15 mana per stack, for god kills it's you get 5 stacks. 3% of your max mana is converted to physical power, max.50 stacks.

Hastened Fatalis Now you know that I love this item for Medusa so most likely I will always include it.

The Executioner If I do replace Hastened Fatalis then this is the item I will replace it for. This increase attack speed as well just not as much as fatalis, but it gives you physical power. It's passive allows you to reduce your target's physical protections by 8% and by 6 points for 3 secs. So this tears away some protection allowing your arrows to penetrate better and for more damage. This will go amazing with all the crits you will build.

Rage Item for physical power and crits. For attacks that fail to do crits, your next crit will do more damage.

Malice For power and crits and it's passive is pretty interesting. When you successfully crit, 75% of your power goes to damage for 3 secs.

Deathbringer Self-explanatory, this is the item that will make your arrows as sharp as obsidian.

Skills

= This is Medusa's passive. Her passive allows her to strafe and move backwards with no movement speed penalty. Goes great with Hastened Fatalis

= This puts three orbs around Medusa which can be fired at anytime you want. You can also fire other abilities while still having the orbs around you, but you must fire the orbs 1st to continue using basic attacks. When hit, they apply poison for a small amount of time. It is advisable to active these when you are leaving you base so by the time you reach your lane, your mana will be recharged.

= I level this ability first due to the many benefits this ability brings. It does decent damage and can clear minions pretty easy later in the game. The real reason I love this ability is the extra angle is brings. When hit successfully the acid will go behind the chosen target and damage enemies behind them in a cone. So you can use this tactically to angle the shot and hit an escaping god .

= This ability is decent. It has more tactical use than actual damage. You charge forward and if you hit an enemy god they get stunned in place. It is great to chase down escaping prey to stun them so you can rape them with your arrows. It is also a good escape for getting out of sticky situations. The damage is not the best, but the other benefits outweight the low damage.

= Now this is what Medusa is known for. Her ult is one of my favorite ults in the game due to the amount of situations you can create with it. To start off the damage is pretty good if you hit the enemy directly. That's the only weakness of this ult. The god has to be looking at you directly for it to take full effect. So assuming they are facing you, this stuns them for a while and if you kill them while still stunned, a statue if left in your wake :3 You can use this to help a teammate in need by coming out of nowhere and putting yourself in front of the chasers and hitting it to stun them all allowing your friend to escape or even flip the script and kill them all while they are vulnerable. So much opportunities can be created and seized if used right.

Becoming Elusive

This section will focus solely on becoming the most elusive and hard to catch god in your game. If you can successfully time these escapes, you will rarely be caught or killed unless the entire team is chasing you or all your abilities on cooldown. I use three about 4 possible methods to escape using Medusa. If you can kill gods with your Oliver Queen skills and be elusive, you will be unbeatable and become REALLY annoying to the enemy team. It's like imagine having 15-0 and you are about to get killed and you constantly somehow slip away almost every time. It would annoy the **** out of people :3

1.You are being attacked and or chased hardcore, you turn around and use Lacerate Most of the time this alone should get you out of harm's way since she goes relatively far.

2. You used Lacerate and it wasn't enough? That's where your Combat Blink comes in. You have two possible escapes one after another. It is very rare to still die after using BOTH unless the entire team is after you.

3.This one should be used as a last resort due to it using up your ult. Only use this if method 2 fails and are still being chased down. If possible you lead them into the jungle and make turn in any direction and wait. Have him keep chasing you so he stays interested, this will leave him completely open to your ult since he will be facing you directly since he is chasing you. At any moment you choose, you suddenly turn around and pop him with Petrify to stun him and you make your escape. If feeling daring, you can attack him while he is stunned for a possible kill :3 PLOT TWIST!!!!
You can directly lead him allies and then Petrify him long enough for your allies to come and assist you. With this method, you can be pretty creative. :)

4.The ultimate escape, only use if you are level 20 and can't afford to respawn for those 60 seconds. Use any combination of Lacerate Combat Blink Petrify to escape. The order in which you choose to escape with this method is up to you. If you have all these available and you know your gonna die, you try and combine all of these to escape.

Team Work

Medusa can be a great team player. She has amazing ganking potential with her ATK speed and crits. You can help allies in trouble by attacking them or getting in front of their enemies with Petrify to give them ample time to escape. She is a great team presence due to the fact that at any moment she can use her [petrify]]. The enemy has no idea when she will pop it, but that at any moment it can be shot. SO enemies who know Medusa will know then and tend to take a cautious approach never knowing when Medusa could pop her ult.

Conclusion

This build is meant for ATK speed and crits. Like I mentioned over 9000x previously you will become the Green Arrow when this build is complete. The rate of your crits will be amazing due to your ATK speed. You have literally the best escape section possible to make you the most elusive god in the game. You can rape everyone and still be completely safe if things get hairy. I can attest to this because the best game I ever had with Medusa was 26-4-8. I was raped with my arrows and I was rarely killed. The main reason why I was killed were due to being teamed up on by like 3 gods or more at once. So if everything goes according to plan, you can cleanse your city while rarely being killed due to the sheer amount of escapes. Well that is all I can muster up for Medusa for now. I thank you all for reading up to this point and I hope you guys enjoyed the guide and found it useful. If not, leave my reasons or areas I should fix :D

Hello there. Interesting build. I would give it a try to see if I like it, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around not having boots of some sort. I usually go with Warrior Tabi but retain the same other items you have.

Sorry brand new to the site so I don't have that nifty coding down just yet.

Here's the thing about this build. You're putting in 30% attack speed and a passive rather than 15% attack speed, more movement speed and power from Ninja Tabi or just 40 power and more movement speed from Warrior Tabi. This means no matter what you're losing damage from choosing Hastened Fatalis rather than a tabi on your abilities and basic attacks, losing speed for roaming the map, escaping, pursuing, etc.

Attack speed also gets less efficient the closer you are to the cap. With the attack speed from Viper Shot you actually manage to get over the 2.5 attack speed cap at this build (upon reaching level 8 specifically, which you would have done by the time you've maxed out Viper Shot). And that's not even including any attack speed gained with the purple buff! So not only are you dealing less damage with your abilities, but you're dealing less damage with your most potent single target attack as well.

Now this isn't to say that you cannot build Hastened Fatalis on Medusa to great effect. In casual matches you can catch enemies off guard with this choice and if you're fed enemies will have no way to run away from you. However, in any sort of competitive match you're better off with something else in regards to this build.

Where you CAN build Hastened Fatalis effectively on Medusa is using the Devourer's Gauntlet start ( Devourer's Gauntlet -> Warrior Tabi -> Hastened Fatalis instead of the standard Ichaival 3rd item). This allows you to take advantage of Medusa's passive while still having the benefits of Warrior Tabi and avoiding maxing out your attack speed.

(Just for reference I prefer Warrior Tabi to Ninja Tabi on Medusa since she still has a strong self attack speed buff on her Viper Shot and because it gives her better early clear). This start does leave you more mana dependent early game, but if you manage your mana reserves well and buy more mana pots instead of health pots, you should be fine.

Overall though decent guide, still liked the content for the most part :] +1

You have to have boots no matter what. Like why would you not get them?

I'm really new to Smite, and I've been testing around with Medusa, mainly in Arena, but also in the 3v3 Joust. I really like her. I'm using your guide as my go-to for playing her, mainly because the threshold for Crits and the speed at which she moves is incredible.

What game modes would you suggest this build be used in the most?

Great guide, thanks for writing it!

probably conquest and joust mainly as there you can farm stacks pretty well compared to arena.

It's something I see a lot of people do if they prefer to have Hastened Fatalis in their build. I do like boots and sprint better though (and well this build does explain the Combat Blink)
