Chaac joust/clash build season 5

I recommend poking with Thunder Strike to minion archers and players at the start til you at least have bought Transcendence.

Reminders

Rain Dance won't heal you that well til your level 16+.

you will have low mana til you buy transcendence and start getting minion kills which probably wont happen til your able to completely buy soul eater by yourself.

DO NOT use abilities on any tanks/warriors keep them for mages/hunters/assassins just hit tanks/warriors with your basic attack which will charge your passive Overflow for free use of a ability.

Jungling

To start you can Poke with your Axe and use your spin to kill minions with ease as long as you have at least 1 other person near you helping. Later on in game you can solo jungle for anyone by later on (at least having completed or close to completing Soul Eater).

Pros / Cons

Pros

after you complete Soul Eater this build becomes very tanky where you can press forward against hunters/mages/assassins.

Cons

Slow mana start so you have to stay back poking at archer minions or other players so mages/hunters/assassins can kill minions.

with this build i average 10-15 kills while still able to tank 2-3 Gods at same time and at times i have been known to fight against 5 in clash while still not dieing but everyone plays differently no other chaac build worked for me and i made this myself

Chaac's job is to tank and he does that just fine with a bruiser build which does not include Transcendence.

actually you can find Chaac under Warrior which means he is a little damage a little power if you wnt ot be a tank just pick a guardian tanking is main job for them

If you read Gulf's one sentence, he actually mentioned doing fine with a bruiser build. This means exactly what you said...a little damage, a little power.

Yours is more heavily on the damage side, but with a questionable set of items.
  • Firstly, not one of the items in your single build list has health. You have some protections (arguably not enough, of which I'm in that camp), but your survival increases if you're able to balance protections and health. Not sure if you're familiar with the concept or not (I won't assume either way), but in case you're not, refer to The Word of Thoth, page 7, chapter 1.2, "Total Effective Health / 'eHP'."

As such, it's good you've employed some protections (full glass cannon Chaac would be awful), but not building any items with health isn't optimal.

  • I'm actually okay, situationally, with building Transcendence. He gets fairly good and consistent damage (and easy wave clear) out of Thunder Strike, Storm Call has great scaling, and even his healing has very functional scaling. Since it also has mana (he can be a mana hog), CDR (he's ability-based), and you're suggesting it in a good location (built 2nd is fine), it's a reasonable item for him when focusing on more offense, if you've got another teammate or two that are going at least partial tanky. I'm keeping in mind that this is for Joust/Clash, as I would never suggest this for Conquest.

Only thing is, I wouldn't build this every time. If I had teammates that would benefit more from their own stacking (Devo's for an ADC or Thoth for a high-scaling mage), then I would probably not get Trans, or at least delay it. Your build gives you no option to do elsewise, so the flexibility of this build is lacking. Better direction or options for readers would be preferred.

  • Now Soul Eater, I just can't get behind. You typically don't get lifesteal for Chaac. Sure, the CDR is also nice and the power is good, but first 3 items and no protections, and you're just asking to get focused. I don't care if you're a warrior with higher base health and whatnot, you'll still get blown up if players spot your build and know what they're doing.

Also, since he has healing, there's a decent chance the enemy team will build anti-heal, rendering the lifesteal aspects of the item a lot weaker. You might also have another healer on your team, making it an even greater chance you get countered here.

  • Stone Cutting Sword might make a little bit of sense...but not much. For you going as offensively as you do, having this as your sole penetration type item (and build last to boot) is very questionable. Yes, you can sometimes keep enemies sort of close with the slow from Rain Dance, but if you're also swinging with basics, you'll be slower than them. You need stacks for max effectiveness, and unless the enemy is trading melee blows with you or is stupid, they're not going to just stay in range unless the rest of your team is able to also help lock them down. This is not a good item for him, as you don't even have anything else in your kit that would help you get those stacks more quickly or efficiently.

  • Then you're going with both Meditation Cloak and Belt of Frenzy. Situationally, maybe I can see this combo being best, but no other relic options? Uh uh.
As such, I'm okay with the first 2 items, not okay with SE or SCS, and feel you're missing on health and more immediate pen (either via Void Shield or Brawler's Beat Stick situationally). Going a more damaging Chaac is fine as long as your team balance is appropriate, but often your team is going to see you choose Chaac and figure at least one tank slot is covered. Then you'll start stealing their stacks for your Trans, and possibly dying because the enemy is focusing you. And unless you don't care about SCS stacks, then you're not going to be tanky enough to take the damage you'll likely receive.

Stone Cutting Sword last item and mentioning "jungling" in joust/clash?

this gives you more protection and reduces enemy protections for a short time plus there aren't many good items out there i used to use shifters shield before they removed the magical protection and gave it to under 50% health but season 5 they changed that
