Now, looking at your build... I believe you have too many damage items and only one defense item (Lotus Crown). Also, the buying order you made isn’t optimal. I’ll give my opinion on what I’d build for her.
Start: Guardian's Blessing, Chalice of Mana, 2x Healing Potion.
Final Build: Shoes of Focus, Breastplate of Valor, Heartward Amulet, Lotus Crown, Rod of Asclepius, Mantle of Discord.
Other option would be: Shoes of Focus, Genji's Guard, Lotus Crown, Spirit Robe, Rod of Asclepius, Mantle of Discord.
These builds will give you 40% CDR and will make you super tanky.
However, if you want to build damage items to increase her heals, I’d consider items like Chronos' Pendant, Spear of the Magus, Spear of Desolation, Void Stone and Rod of Tahuti. But again, if you’re gonna build full damage, you might as well play mid and be an utility mage. Supports need to be able to take some damage, especially in the endgame and if your solo isn’t tanky enough.
Also don't get mana chalice in support role. It's a waste of gold.
Go guardians, tier 1 shoes, and 3 health pots/3 mana pots. With Guardians and blue boots you shouldn't need mana chalice past the first couple of levels.
Also, Genji’s offers 10% less CDR than BoV.
Some individual comments:
Balanced, Phys focus #1: Breastplate of Valor + Oni Hunter's Garb. BoV prioritized due to need for phys protection earlier, and the importance of CDR is obvious. Oni Hunter's is pretty synergistic (similar application) to Aphro's passive, and the mitigations will help with ALL incoming damage, not just magical. Has great CDR, and also CC reduction which will be helpful for her since she has no escape.
Balanced, Phys focus #2: Sovereignty + Genji's Guard. Sov for the aura, Genji's for the CDR and mana regen.
Balanced, Mag focus: Genji's Guard + either Celestial Legion Helm or Breastplate of Valor. Not all that optimal...Genji + BoV is almost like mana overload. Celestial is okay if not facing a lot of ticking damage. Sov and Lotus are alternate phys protection options, or Spirit Robe perhaps if magical protection is by far the more dangerous threat.
So, I thought about picking Oni Hunter's Garb instead of Heartward Amulet for the second defense irem, but unlike more aggressive supports or warriors, Aphrodite should be in the backline, healing teammates and switching between targets, not in the enemies faces. With that in mind, I considered Oni Hunter’s to be less effective than Heartward, simply due to the effective distance (55 vs 70 units). But of course, it can be effective in certain situations.
I know you dislike Lotus Crown on Aphro, because she’s a single-target healer, but the 20 protections can make a difference, both for her target and for herself. Besides, her healing is a 3 second DoT (or HoT, in this case), so the additional protections would last 8 seconds total. With 40% CDR, she can proc the Lotus passive 100% of the time, because her 3 wll have a 8 seconds cooldown. So she basically has 20 additional protections 100% of the time.
Consider that you and your link can be in two places at once. That means you can hit Back Off! on multiple enemies if you're spread out in a teamfight a bit. Staying in the backlines and just healing is also both an optimal situation for you (e.g. they're not focusing and killing you) and a non-optimal situation for your teammates. Why? Well, when you build like this, you're probably one of the tankiest people on your team. You can take more hits, and you getting hit means your squishy teammates are not. And as you all know, you're not necessarily going to be left alone anyway. They might be focusing you no matter what, in which case...Oni brings more to the table.
And although you'd prefer not to get hit in the face, the fact of the matter is, Love Birds is both healing and damage, and if you're only using it for heals, you're not getting the most out of it. And to confirm hits more easily, you need to be closer...both for that AND Back Off. So, if you're tanky enough, being in the midst of a fight, soaking damage for teammates, and getting your 2 damaging abilities off here and there is actually not a bad position for you.
Regarding Lotus Crown, unfortunately, that's not how it works. It doesn't refresh on consecutive ticks of healing. Once it triggers, it's a straight 5 seconds of duration, and it cannot trigger again for 10 seconds (meaning it can only be up at max 1/2 the time, if your CDs are able to match the CD of Crown. Hence why I continue to feel it's a fine item in general, but not core.
*edit* Well, the change in Wiki happened on July 24, 2017, but the corresponding patch notes didn't change anything about Lotus. I went back through all of 2017 and couldn't find anything, though I scanned fairly quickly and could have missed something.
In any case, notes now don't say there's any cooldown. Changing that. Sorry to everyone for the stats to have been incorrect for so long.
I’d login to test it, but the servers are under maintenance.
That’s why I wanted to have a second opinion.
