So Hun Batz, is in my opinion the best jungler to have in teamfights. Fear No Evil will easily turn a teamfight on the spot, and with a close to 50 sec CD with max CDR you can just use it to force beads on key targets. His mobility is also great making him very safe to play. Damage output is decent as well, with some lucky crits with
Deathbringer and
Infused Strikes you got great burst as well.
I get a point in Overhand Smash first because you need it for mid wave clear and being able to chose from
Somersault and
Sacred Monkey at lvl 2 beats the increase in jungle clear you get from taking
Sacred Monkey at lvl 1 in my experience.
At lvl 2 I get Somersault if I can secure a kill with the slow (50% slow in combination with minion aggro is deadly at lvl 2) or if I have to get away from something like a
Brutalize or
Thor "spin2win". If I don't need
Somersault I get
Sacred Monkey for the jungle clear and burst damage.
From here on i max Overhand Smash, getting point in 1 or 3 at lvl 4 depending on what I got at lvl 2 (if I got
Somersault at lvl 2 I get
Sacred Monkey at lvl 4...), saving a point at lvl 8 to max it out and getting rank 2
Fear No Evil at lvl 9.
After maxing Overhand Smash I focus on
Sacred Monkey to get more burst and putting points in
Somersault only reduces the CD which isn't that important. And putting points in
Fear No Evil every time it is possible.
That is pretty much it for skills, some times if I just used Fear No Evil I might put a point in the 3 instead to max my DPS. But that is just minmaxing and not really important.
Starter build:
I prefer to go hidden dagger first, just because I feel comfortable with not taking poke etc as Hun in the earlygame, and it let's you get a early DB. But going boots/blink first is safer and makes for pretty good ganks when you hit lvl 5. So it is mor up to personal preferanse than anything else.
Early game is like every other assassin Warrior Tabi and
Jotunn's Wrath for damage CDR and penetration.
Midgsme I likegetting Spirit Robe for more sustain and CDR (50 sec ults are OP). But if I feel that I have to carry the game I get
Transcendence for the increased DPS. And of course the DB in combination with the passive for more burst.
Late game it is either Transcendence or DB depending on what k got midgame.
To finish I normally build Titan's Bane for the penetration vs towers and enemy protection. Unless I have to counter build someone, a fed ADC =
Midgardian Mail, your team is heavy on physical damage and enemy team is building protection =
Soul Eater or
Void Shield if you need protection yourself, enemy team is attack speed focused or is physical damage heavy =
Witchblade and if the enemy team is magical heavy =
Runic Shield. But 90% of the time I get
Titan's Bane.
Somersault you want to use to ether slow enemies without leaps or to follow enemies after they use their escape while at the same time slowing them. It is VERY potent early game for ganks due to the 50% slow.
Overhand Smash is pretty much a no brained DPS ability. Just save it for when you know that your enemy can't leap out of it, if the git escapes.
Sacred Monkey this ability takes some practice, but getting the hang of it is the difference from a ult bot
Hun Batz and born monkey king. It is great for just chasing a kill or to juke incoming damage. It is hard to explain how to use it in a guide. But for chasing a single target you just have to trust in yourself to hit it. Because to TP to a target it has to be the next target hit or the last target got hit. Example: you got an enemy god and a minion, you hit the enemy god before pressing 3 again and you will TP to the next hit which will be the minion. Or you double tap 3,hit the god TP to him/her and can then engage on him/her. You can also use it to follow leaps by first hitting the god (and nothing else after), the enemy uses a leap, then you press 3 to TP to the god leaving you with still having
Somersault for escape or further chasing.
Fear No Evil is INSANE in teamfights and especially for defending objectives like FG/GF or towers. And with full CDR you can just use it to force out beads or enemy ults. It is important to place the ult correctly to make the target move the way you want to (out of their tower, into your tower etc).
Combo:
blink -> Fear No Evil -> AA (for passive proc) -> (more AAs if it's a single god without escapes is the target)
Overhand Smash -> AA ->
Sacred Monkey -> AA ->
Somersault for further chase or to get out.
There are more that I'll add later if ppl want me to.
Imo he is best if you got a team that can deal damage. Because in my experience you for the most part win fights by splitting up fights and singling out targets for your team to make easy kills.
But he is also a very safe god to jungle du to multiple escapes, easy to hit damage and possible carry potential with early Trans and DB.
There is never times where I would say he is a bad pick, but as I mentioned you can be a bit team reliable. Which makes it hard to be a one man team.
Hun Batz is a safe god to jungle, has great CC and teamfight potential, is a bit awkward to carry with without a team, but he is great at defending if your team is behind and can easily win games late/mid game that seems lost.
All in all I think he is one of the most underrated junglers in the game. And if played correctly is just a beast!
For intance he is my most played god in ranked with a 70% win rate.

I will probably add Malice when I get to play a bit with it first. But so far it has not fitted my playstyle to well.
The AS and LS from soul eater is actually pretty good (combined with crits from DB and the passive), but it is mainly in there because of the aura, health and the price.
But as you mentioned, titan's is very strong and it's probably in 90% of my builds :p
And about the start, I used to always go boots etc first. But I never had much use for the sustain tbh. So I started just going crit and Bumba's to get DB earlier like with serqet and I prefer that over boots start. Although having blink at lvl 5 for a nice gank can pay off. So now I normally go dagger if I got mid with good clear or a solo with good clear. And you have to play more passive ofc with dagger, but how often do you go for early kills with Hun anyways? :p
So overall on the build - I'd just make
Matchups? - Hun Batz is a good pick up against the annoying Janus and even Loki.
Lastly, level 2. It's a good idea to hold on to see which one you need but I always get
Overall nice short and sweet guide. Good job!
And for hun DB is more important than Trans for damage anyway.
I normally got Trans fully stacked 5 min after its finished. So I don't really see a point in getting it early.
It is not like you're an adc looking for that early powerspike from being fully stacked.
That is at least my reasoning for getting it later rather than early ;)
You could go Malice instead if you go for a one man carry, but it never works out for me.
So if you play him more like a support ish jungle I think the Trans is more consistent DPS.
Might do some more games with Malice and DB just to try and get the feeling of it when I get back to the apartment on Monday :p
