Its only roughly 45 wins to get it.
The best thing I can tell you to do, is play play play untill you have 5.5k favor. Once you have that SIT ON IT! Wait for a god to come out and then play it in a practice game. If you like the feel then rent it for a game or 2. Still like it, then buy it.

I stayed with 5.5k favor for a week before buying Cupid, and sadly, the new update does not appow you to rent new gods.

She just came out give it a day or 2 and guides will be out about her.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions.
