Time is eternal, and no one, no one but no one, can defeat time, for time is immortal and none can outlast time itself.
I wonder, whether Chronos did sanction the definition of 'second', the SI unit of time itself, as 'the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the caesium 133 atom.'
Well, anyway, welcome to the Eternal Land of Chronos.
Yes, yes, but tell me Why?
- His burst is too strong.
- Moves like a jagger.
- Time Rift has tons of damage.
- You can Stop Time, wouldn't it be cool?
- He has a strong mid-to-late-game, where you'd literally almost 1-hit KO those carries.
- He can Heal/Mana Refund/Weaker Rod of Tahuti/Weaker Polynomicon.
- Free Hastened Fatalis.
- He is an Assassin.
No, no, but Why Not?
- Squishy early-game, where people usually aim for you and kill you.
- Very, very, very reliant on items.
- Ultimate take quite some time to cast.
- Skill shot damages.
- Small area damage.
- Mana-hungry early-game.
“We become what we behold. We shape our tools, and thereafter our tools shape us.”

Why not Shoes of the Magi, you ask? Yes, Chronos has a low cooldown on his Time Rift, but in order to shorten cooldown of your ulti, Rewind and of your '1' even more, you buy it. You can spammore often. Besides, you can also Accelerate more often.
Well, well, well, self-explanatory, isn't it? Yes, he may be lacking in defence early-game, but his late burst will make up for it. It wouldn't even matter if you have a good teammate beside you. You will get OP earlier with this.
Why this as the 3rd item, and not rush it before Rod of Tahuti? Your Magical Power isn't that high early-game anyway, Polynomicon wouldn't help much, besides, you have your part IV of Wheel of Time, it is basically, a weaker version of Polynomicon, but it lasts for a few seconds, while Polynomicon only activates once in a few seconds.
Alrighty, get this now if you have Magical opponents, but if you don't, then don't even think about this.
Most of you probably wonder why had I not gotten myself some MPen., no? Here it is. If your opponents start to build up some Magical Defense, then buy this earlier. If not, leave it here.
Well, you get to be the target of your opponent's whole team often, if not all the time, so, this items would probably be a good addition to your toolbox. Just Accelerate and let it stop at part IV, and auto-attack to win. There was a time where I survived 3 teamfights (or rather, hunting-me-down) by this. I simply out-damaged them at low health. I finished them off (with auto-attacks) at low health before they even get to land their coup-de-grace.
You can exchange it for Obsidian Shard if you feel like it, which is when their tank has not that much Magical Defense. Besides,it adds Attack Speed to you, quite nice, actually.
Get it in place of Focused Void Stone if you are willing to sacrifice your MPen. and M. Defense.
It is a good item in overall, but you just have other better items! Besides, you already have a slow-stun, Stop Time.
Get a Level 1 Blink at early-game. Upgrade it afterwards. It helps you to escape some nasty circumstances, with you being squishy. I prefer Combat Blink over Blink because of the conditions that you have to be out of combat for 5s before you can use it.
Your second life-saver, aside from your ulti, Rewind.
Meditation Yes, this is good, as Chronos is somewhat mana-hungry, but well, he can manage his mana at late-game, so, why bother? Actives cannot be changed. Don't really recommend this.
"Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy."

Must.Max.It.First. Why? It hurts. A lot. In early-game, you have to chance to aim your Time Rift, but at some point in the game, you must be able to fire it without aiming. You have to know where exactly will it land on, and you have to land it accurately to get a chunk of health off the enemy.
This is the only real AoE (though it is small) damage he has. But it hurts.
You will have to chain it immediately after your Stop Time then proceed to auto-attacks after that.
A nice skill to have, but it gets annoying when the Wheel of Time does not spin to where you want it to be. So, let me lay it out for you.
In early game, Accelerate at part I, for the Health (of course, go for the mana buff before that).
In early-mid game, after you got your Shoes of Focus or probably stage 1 Rod of Tahuti, Accelerate at part III, to boost your Magical Power. Why not part IV? This is because your Magical Power is still negligible.
Right after you get your Rod of Tahuti, and I mean RIGHT AFTER, you always Accelerate at part IV, to dish out tons of damage.
You won't see any other gods having being rooted by Neith and still be able to keep firing auto-attacks to kill people and gets a Double Kill and survive after that.
The only CC Chronos has. It is a skill shot, albeit with a larger area. Try initiate with this skill then follow up by your Time Rift and starts auto-attacking people. Also,it hurts. Remember, it slows enemies to a stun. It does not stun them straightaway!!!
An extra life. But caution! It take quite some time to fully activate it, and you are still vulnerable in the period, so if you find yourself being cornered, you'd probably start using it when your health falls into the yellow region. Do that, and then jump into the fray from behind and starts killing them.
You do this: Rewind -> Accelerate -> Stop Time -> Auto-attack to proc Polynomicon -> Time Rift -> Auto-attack to win!
So, basically, this is your skill cycle:
Stop Time -> Time Rift -> Auto-attack to proc Polynomicon -> Accelerate -> Auto-attack -> Time Rift -> Auto-attack. (Rinse and repeat)
If you have a Blink or Combat Blink then it's better. You can Blink behind the enemy lines then stun them from there. They won't know what has struck them even after they died.
“Ability is of little account without opportunity.”
― Napoleon Bonaparte
Creeping / Wave Clear
Well, luckily, Stop Time is a straight-line skill, which not only slow-stun people, but also dishes out quite a lot of damage too. Use this skill to start your creeping, then Accelerate to auto-attack and finally Time Rift.
Teamfights
Well, I have basically outlined the skill paths to use in the Abilities section above.
All you have to do is to look for opportunity. Wait till your tanker initiates, then Stop Time and starts hacking at them, they will probably be dead before you even got the chance to use Rewind.
In early-game, ALWAYS, and ALWAYS, initiate with your tanker. At late-game though, you can go up their doorsteps and Pentakill them, without your tanker. (But this action is not recommended, do not attempt this at home) It is best to let your tanker tanks all the damage. When you see, Ymir for instance, using his Frost Breath, you'd better start to fire your Stop Time, so that, by the time the enemies are defrosted, they are stunned by you.
The Timelord is making its way through the battlefield, bending time to its purposes. Why is he here? Is the ongoing battle such of a threatening scale that Time itself has to take measures to prevent undoing of all things?
Will you, my friend, join The Timekeeper in his path to save the world? Wade a path of destruction across the battlefield! Kill the enemies, for justice! With the power of time!

Actually, clearing waves with Chronos should go like this:
Accelerate at section II for the mana refund > auto attack to stack minions > Stop Time > Time Rift. That way you won't lose mana as much as you would.
This guide is overall good. It isn't my preferred way of playing Chronos as I like to build him like Freya. I like to go Shoes of the Magi, Fatalis, Demonic Grip, Polynomicon, Gem of Binding and Rod of Tahuti. But that's just me.
I'd also recommend some situational items like Breastplate of Valor etc.
An upvote fro me and I hope you'll expand this guide in the future.
The reason I don't put in Breastplate of Valor is because, you can simply outburst the Physical carries before they cut you down. (Well, at least that's what I manage to do every time)
Thanks for the suggestion and comments! ^.^
