I will be adding a lot more to this guide within a few days, for now i will try and gather as much information as i can and provide it in full detail for you all to dive into.
Bellona is an all round good god to play and is very good at defeating escaping enemies and escaping from death herself. She can make a very good damage dealing tank as my build shall show you. Hope this is helpful to everyone trying to make Bellona there new God. Please Follow this guide as a video will be uploaded tomorrow explaining how this build works and how Bellona works. Thank you all for your time.
This build works very well as solo in conquest and in joust, i have even used it in arena but switched the order of Hide of the Urchin and Deathbringer with great results.
Pros
- High Damage
- High Defence
- Highish attack speed
- Great Finisher
- Can tank
- Disarms Enemies
- Very fast
- Quick cool down on ultimate
Cons
- Uses ultimate to escape
- Not the best against mages (especially Kukulkan)
- Sometimes hard to aim Bludgeon in some situations
- Hard to play at the start
Tips and Tricks
-Staying alive
With my build taking you down will be a hard task the opposing team will face. You want to focus on using Scourge throughout your fight as it + Asi will be keeping you alive and if you are low on health run off to minions and use Scourge to replenish your health. Try to stay behind every opponent unleashing a barrage of Scourge as every 3rd hit will heal you and every other hit still healing you
- General face to face fighting
When fighting your opponents open with disarming them with Scourge and follow with Bludgeon and if they run then Shield Bash them away or use your Eagle's Rally if it is available. Try and get a few hits with your whip after using Scourge, as for every 3 hits you heal yourself.
- Ganking
Ganking with Bellona is a problem we are all going to have to deal with the so learning yourself how she does it can be very handy for your defense. Timing is key Ganking a full health opponent isn't a disaster but will use up a bit of you health if your opponent is clever. You wanna Gank someone at least at 50% health and open with your Eagle's Rally landing it directly on them so it stuns. Follow with Shield Bash to slow them down before they get away and then use Bludgeon for that final KO. If still alive and slightly out of range Scourge should finish them off.
- Escaping
Escaping is all about time with Bellona so you got to know when you are making your exit. For every hit she takes She gets a 6% movement speed and 5 protections per stack Master of War so it is best to make you exit with 3 or more stacks for that speed boost. Use Shield Bash or your Eagle's Rally to make your escape as both raise your defense, you might sometimes have to use both to get away from the speedy foes
- Jungle buffs
I prefer getting attack speed as i just cant get enough of it, but Damage is just as handy for Bellona so take either one of these two and you should do just fine
Use to chase down enemies to then slow and follow with the use of Bludgeon to finish them off. Can also be used to escape enemies when close to death as blocks strikes from incoming attacks.
Use this against multiple gods, or just the one. This has an increased attack for each enemy god within hitting distance, so the more the merrier. Can be used for finishing as has an extended reach.
This move is also great for finishing people off, and is also great for healing yourself. It is best to use Shield Bash then follow up with Scourge as you will disarm them for when you use Bludgeon.
Great for jumping in and stunning opponents then releasing the chain of 1,3,2. Also great way of escaping death with a Shield Bash to follow.
Master of War gives Bellona increase movement speed and protection buff for every hit she takes. It is great for escaping and chasing down your foes
Item 1
-Boots are a a must for starter as they provide the speed boost and attack power. Ive taken Warrior Tabi over Ninja Tabi as my attack speed is covered with Winged Blade and Asi.
Item 2
OR
-I have chosen Winged Blade mainly because of its passive, as i find Bellona was only getting killed when stunned. The 10% cool down reduction is also a great help for Bellona. The attack speed stacked with Asi is enough for constant swings with Scourge to keep your health at max throughout a fight. After trying out both these as a second item Asi should be your second item for the early game fighting.
Item 3
This is a great item for Bellona as it provides huge defense but increases her attack as well. combined with Hide of the Urchin people will find it very hard to take you down. Its passive is what made me choose his item as with this build your health will hardly be below 50%.
Item 4
OR
Asi again is a must for Bellona, combined with Scourge you will be almost unstoppable with people wondering how your health is staying at 100% while they constantly hit you. Best replacement if you find attack speed is to much is Soul Eater but would definitely go with Asi as the attack speed + healing every 3 hits is a huge bonus.
Item 5
This is great combined with shifters shield and will have pretty much all your protection needs covered. Along with Winged Blade people wont be able to stun you or get through your defenses. Also the passive is great as you ill be involved with a lot of assists and kills.
Item 6
Deathbringer is all about the crits, i switch around with Rage and Malice a lot as all work very well with this build and is a great final item to get.

day after the god is released; and they're are some grounds for that, its often you find an
obnoxious "FIRST GUIDE!!!" that's really just a terrible build and lacks every other component of guide.
Yours on the other hand showed real effort, communicated what you had found useful and different
ways to use skills. So thank you for that, I love trying out new gods and I've played a couple
games with her so far, but I'm always completely lost with a new god, until someone gives me play
tips and build ideas. Looking forward to additional content as you play her.
I will be adding a video tomorrow and a whole tonne more detail and pictures in this guide to go with it. Thanks for the feedback though :)
She has been out for a day (obviously she was out for longer on the PTS) and there are already... 3 guides with a skill build, a basic item build, and a short tips and tricks section. Not a single guide made is actually a guide and it is kind of a bummer
I would touch up on the skill order as you want to max your 3 or 2 (I prefer 3) then the latter, then your ult, then your 1. That's the most efficient and considering what you're building for I would max the 3 for heals since you'll most likely be using it the most apart from your default sword due to the attack speed.
I would add in a bunch more for the build but that's just me. You should also explain your itemization choices and a bit more about gameplay.
Good luck on the guide!
