........ Pros ........
- Tanky, even from the start. - Stronger Crowd Control than most solo-laners. - Potential for insane burst damage. - Damage combo can lock down enemies. - Super easy-to-use passive. - Decent wave clear with Tremors. - Tectonic Shift to trap your target. |
....... Cons .......
- Tankiness fluctuates, especially early game. - Easily countered initiation without blink. - Building damage sacrifices some survivability. - Seismic Crush speed buff is his only escape. - Missing your 1 means missing m***ive damage. - Wave clear leaves you stuck in place. - Your walls can be jumped over. |
0 (Passive) - Shadow Zone
Stay close. |
1 - Seismic Crush
Crush. Kill. Destroy. |
2 (Passive) - Refraction Shield

2 (Active) - Refraction Shield
It's time to slam now. |
With the whole "extra attack speed and Fatalis" thing, you might be tempted to hold left click and spam rock shift at them, but notice how activating the buff counts as using an ability. I have Polynomicon as core here because if you activate the buff and then land your first attempted basic attack, the extra damage from the buff is applied at the same time as the extra damage from Polynomicon. This extra damage is equal to 50+70=120% of your magical power. For a guardian, this is insane scaling!
This combo right here is why some people call Cabrakan "Fat Loki", and you'll see why in a minute.

I'd suggest, on the first build, that your first set of items is a final build example...this first line is what is displayed when people search in the guide listing.
In Solo, I think I can figure out how I'd build him. Obviously there's some counter-building going on, so depends partially on your lane enemy and the Jungler type.
Starters, making him initially tanky should work well...I see you have Warlock's Sash in the list of "raw power" items, and that might be a good starting item for him. Not so sure about the other stacking items being good for him. I'd be scared to get those myself, but I suck, so...
Shoes list is fine, and in Solo, I'd probably default to Shoes of the Magi for the early pen, but if I'm facing a physical basic-attacker like Osiris or Erlang, I might consider Reinforced Greaves instead.
For the first true counter-build protection item, if against physical Soloers, I don't think Breastplate of Valor is necessary...since he's in Solo, as long as he's regularly picking up the Mana buff, he shouldn't have too many issues with mana, right? I'd think about Witchblade against a basic attacker, Hide of the Urchin if the Jungler is magical and a serious threat, or Dynasty Plate Helm if I want to be aggressive.
Against a magical Soloer, if they have healing, Pestilence is good which is in your list. Otherwise, I'd probably go Void Stone (which is also in your list). See, you already would have a good amount of health from Sash, so just the added protections should be fine...don't know if you'd need Bulwark of Hope, at least early.
Not sure how I'd finish up...would depend a lot on how the match is going and what enemy comp is, but I'd really consider adding Gem of Isolation as an option somewhere. Make it more difficult to get out of Tremors if their escapes aren't up, and add slows to all of the stuns he has. For Pen, between Magi, Void, and Dynasty (if chosen), you could tack on more pen with Spear of the Magus, or if you didn't get Void, you could consider Obsidian Shard I guess, vs. a pretty heavy tank team. At some point in the late game, if Dynasty is chosen I'd look to replace with a stronger physical protection item with some utility.
I have no clue how Poly works with him. Guessing it can be pretty nice extra damage?
Anyway, those are my thoughts so far.
Also, Valor and Poly are definitely needed. Cabrakan is very mana hungry compared to other solo laners, hence Valor. The CDR is also nice. Meanwhile, Polynomicon procs on his Seismic Crush, making the damage on it jump up to 125% scaling. With a full damage build including Polynomicon and Soul Reaver, Cabrakan can 1-hit some mages. My main goal with this guide is to make that crazy burst damage viable in Conquest.
I see you've moved Warlock's Sash to item #1 in most situations...would you still consider Breastplate of Valor to be as necessary for your argument of needing mana, since he gets a ton from Sash, to go with the Mana buff? How important is CDR on him?
As the unfinished guide stands right now, you list Dynasty Plate Helm as a core item, but it's nowhere in your recommended finished build. Maybe that becomes a situational item, and you just keep the other 3?
Look forward to seeing this guide completed.
