I had played ra I think maybe once or twice on my account but I had him on my secondary account and decided to try and work on him there and used the healing build and so far so good 1 match in, we'll see later but a nice build to ease into him with, you got my +1

Not sure what you mean by "the healing build" but you generally shouldn't aim for a healing build in Arena. Ra's heal is a decent size AOE, but people won't sit there fighting in its radius. Enemies will back out, and teammates will need to move if they want to attack or retreat.

Take advantage of Ra's very low ult and do a damage/CDR build. You can stack if you want, but you don't have to, and you may find better use if you rush Chronos' Pendant. I also wouldn't build the stacking item before Shoes, because he has no real escape and wants the early MS.

Try something like: Shoes of the Magi, Chronos' Pendant, Pen item ( Spear of Desolation or Divine Ruin), Rod of Tahuti as main items. The first 3 items should probably be in that order...get Tahuti 5th or 6th. Flex items include Soul Reaver, Obsidian Shard, Mantle of Discord, and Lotus Crown.

I swear that last night he had a third build listed before the warlock's and the thoth.

it goes like this.
Rod of Asclepius
Shoes of the Magi
Chronos' Pendant
lotus crown
Obsidian Shard sub Ethereal Staff if obs not needed
Rod of Tahuti

i tried it out that way because boogie has played a lot of arena himself so i figured the passive would be enough early since he had it set like that. The warlock stack, I tried it a few times and did decently, but even putting it first and calling building stacks everytime i was not able to get the full stacks so i will probably not use that. I think your concept looks pretty good, I do get all the concepts you are talking about. Another reason I tried it first was because I didn't want to try the warlock's first since there is the issue with the stacking in arena because I already figured i'd have that problem even before I tried it, and the thoth's I straight up did not do well with.

I was just giving the build, which was there last night and now is not there, a chance as was since he is a pretty experienced player. I normally will do that and then tweak as i feel is needed. I do appreciate you listing another arena option and will give it a shot. His guide was listed as Arena builds so that is why i was trying them out as is.

Thanks for the feedback. In the start section, i was implying that you should work into shoes of the magi. However that was too vague, and i will correct it.

Thank you for pointing out the flaws in hide of the urchin. I thought i had removed the item but seems like i forgot to.

You are also correct in suggesting that mantle should be a situational pick up. The reason i grab it 4th is to get more cdr. Its arena and cdr is very precious on ability based gods, so i dont completely agree that it should be built last.

Overall, i like your suggestions and will edit this guide. Thank you.

You haven't seemed to have listed a start (Shoes is 1600 gold so cannot be a "start") so ill give one: Sorcerer's Staff. Or another option: Rod of Healing.

Ok the build: all the items you have listed are good options but there are some other alternatives you have left out: Ethereal Staff, Soul Reaver, Bancroft's Talon and Soul Gem.

I don't think Hide of the Urchin is a good idea, it is useful for defense, but you don't really need it that much especially if you have Warlock's Staff, if you really need something to help you live get Mantle of Discord or Magi's Cloak. Mantle of Discord is a good pickup against burst, but more of a fifth or sixth item in a build, not 4th. Alternatives to Mantle are: Magi's Cloak (good against Ares, Cerberus and Da Ji), Winged Blade (Against heavy slows/high mobility) and Lotus Crown (for giving more protections through healing). In certain scenarios you could consider instead of mantle a high magical or physical defense item, but that depends on the enemy team composition.

A "full damage" build example from me would be: Warlock's Staff, Shoes of the Magi, Chronos' Pendant, Spear of Desolation, Obsidian Shard, Soul Reaver. (If tanks aren't a problem substitute the Obsidian Shard for like a Ethereal Staff or high power item).

A more healing based build would be: Rod of Asclepius, Shoes of the Magi, Chronos' Pendant, Lotus Crown, Obsidian Shard, Rod of Tahuti.

One more example build with Mantle : Warlock's Staff, Shoes of the Magi, Divine Ruin, Chronos' Pendant, Ethereal Staff, Mantle of Discord.

@Kriega, what's a good substitute for Warlock's Staff, since the item is now bad?

Kriega1 (143) | August 27, 2018 2:57am
Book of thoth, cdr shoes, book of dead, obsidian shard, rod of asclepius, soul reaver.

Or if you know no one is stacking in arena, rush tier 2 warlocks.

It's not necessarily bad, and you have to consider context. You're in Arena. Stacking isn't generally preferred, but the drop in mana it got from the nerf doesn't hurt so much in that mode. But you're looking for a bit of power to go with health, so instead of warlock, you've got your prots from mantle... So just get utility items with health. Pythag, asclepius, lotus, and void stone are all options. Lotus doesn't have health, but obviously has good function and prots.
