INTRO

THIS NEW LOKI CHANGES EVERYTHING

AS A LOKI MAIN MYSELF

I am quite impressed with this new rework but some tweaks can be made to make him more efficient at jungling instead of solo/split pushing all the time and more of investing time into ganking/teamfight. Ill leave comments and suggestions along this intro on how to improve the new kit. This intro is assuming youve played old loki before.

NEW REWORK ABILITIES


BEHIND YOU!
Bonus 20% damage to Gods hit from behind.
Loki's abilities now benefits from his passive
His basic attack chain is buffed back to 1/.5/.5/.5/1.5x damage

VANISH
Damage per tick: 30/45/60/75/90 + 25% scale
Stealth duration: 4 seconds
Stealth speed buff: 35%

Loki dissppears in a puff of smoke, laughing while entering stealth, removing any slow effects and immune to any new ones.

Basic attacks from stealth will add a Bleed effect to enemies damaging them for 4 ticks.

If Loki takes damage while in stealth he will be revealed for .33 secs

(This removes the stealhy/sneakiness Loki had when ganking but for his opponent now having the time to react before getting ganked. They can tweak this by lowering the laugh audio to be only heard 30 meters away instead of 50m, you can be heard from Gold Fury/Fire Giant when trying to gank...wtf?)

AGONIZING VISIONS
Damage per tick: 13/18/23/28/33 + 15% scale
Damage Dealt: -5-20% for 2.5s

Loki summons a vision of his past to torment and poison enemies. A spectral version of Loki, bound by chains, with poison dripping onto his face is summoned to a location. Enemies nearby take damage every second, enemies hit 4 times by this become blinded. If stood longer in the target location. Enemies have their damage dealt reduced by 5%

Blinded enemies now take damage from “Behind You” when hit by Loki from any direction. Roughly lasts 4s and ticks up to a total of 8 times.

This deployable does not taunt, cannot be damaged or targeted, and does not draw tower aggro. Can still body block opponents.

Should be at 2 or 3 ticks to blind since enemies can easily escape it even without boots or add a poison after-effect since the second you leave the AOE the blind wears off and no poison damage, doesn't make sense, They could do so much more with this ability like prot shred, teleport, or any other form of CC or self-buff

FLURRY STRIKE
Flurry Damage: 19/25/35/45/55 + 18% scale
Final Damage: 40/65/90/115/140 + 60% scale
Slow: 15-30% for 3s

Loki channels into a combat stance, rapidly attacking all enemies in an area in front of him then unleashes a final strike that deals more damage and slows the enemies hit. These attacks can benefit from the bonus damage of “Behind You” if the damage hits enemies in the back.Includes knockup immunity

UPDATE: the 7.10 Bonus update gave his first 5 hits a 15% slow, which is a healthy boost, the channeling overall is still a bit too slow but the scaling boost is very good for early game. A stacking slow wouldve been better considering the refresh on the slows for first 5 hits isnt an after effect, meaning enemies can dash out of it without any slow effects before getting hit by the final strike.

ASSASSINATE
Cripple Damage: 70/105/140/175/210 + 35% scale
Heavy Damage: 100/145/190/235/280 + 90% scale
Stun: 1s

Upon activation, Loki will teleport to a ground target location. If an enemy is within the radius, Loki will damage his target crippling them for 1s. After, he will wind up a heavy strike damaging enemies in front of him and stunning them.

(This is definitely a big buff and lots of teamfight potential, just wish it can stun for 2 secs so loki can get a hit off them since animations take too long)

IN CONCLUSION
Overall, this new Loki rework will definitely change the way people approach or react to Loki since the problems people had with him before still exist but this time they are manageable. So if there's frustration pointed at this new loki, it wont be Loki's own fault given how everything he does now is more on how you would react to him than to complain. This all could still change depending how the devs wanna go about him with more buffs/nerfs.

GUIDE

NEW SKILLS COMBOS

You still have one shot potential given loki's AA buff back to 100% but the rework for now--its best you just do these ability combos for successful ganks.

First, for GANKING
1>>2>>AA>>3
or
1>>AA>>2>>AA(if building crit)

Vanish before using your 2 when entering the lane. Enemies upon seeing your 2 will run away from the AOE and try to escape, thats where you would sneak behind them AA to get the bleed from your 1 and as theyre leaving do your 3 since it has range and can do BEHIND YOU damage.

Second, for TEAMFIGHTS
2>>3

If youre going against your enemy jungler and mid. Put down your 2 to box in or disperse your enemies and pick off either target with your 3, if they decide to step into your 2 and take the blind and passive dmg then immediately do your 3 and do lots of damage when boxing with them. If you build Brawlers,Crusher, or Heartseeker; His 2 is great for range application so enemies cant heal from a distance when battling against Mages or Hunters

Last, the ULTIMATE combo
1>>2>>ULT>>3

This is your all-in combo to fully kill your target.
Vanish to sneak up on them, activate your 2 to distract them and deter them away from escaping, immediately ult them to cripple and stun them in your 2 AOE zone, from there they will be blinded and take damage from your 3 and the bonus 20% passive damage. Boom, that final heavy strike from your 3 will finish them off

This rework is definitely changing up the way people approach Loki, some will hate it and some will be relieved. Majority will say its a buff and makes Loki a B-A+ tier God now. Loki mains will split over this but that was predictable. As a main myself, Its acceptable. Im not in love with it but its a for-the-better change in Loki's kit. Its just that theres so much MORE potential they couldve gave this loki rework but HiRez was afraid their playerbase is stuck with PTSD of old loki so its like they feel if they buff him then its back to the drawing board cuz people will hate it and say hes broken. As you saw in the notes below each ability, there were suggestions on how to improve the kit instead of just bumping dmg numbers but will HiRez listen? Not likely, whatever makes them more money. Loki's new kit couldve been alot better if they stuck with more Lore-wise abilities and more trickery and deceit instead of just this slow poke of a rework that barely covers any abilities of deceit. The Morrigan is more of Loki than Loki himself. And thats just sad. Who knows how theyll change him, im not holding any hopes but im still open for discussions on how to improve the kit.

The problems before still exist today, its just a whole nerf to his kit to slow down those problems. Noobs using new loki will experience the same they did back with old loki considering how easy his kit is to use and how easy it will be for experienced players to counter him. Loki can still pubstomp but higher ranks will know better to have picked a better jungler on their team to be 2 steps ahead.

i am gonna miss proxy laning to troll the enemy team...goodbye old loki

REWORK IDEAS

THESE ARE JUST IDEAS TO HIS KIT ON HOW THEY CAN BE REVOLVED AROUND JUNGLING WHILE ALSO BEING AN EFFECTIVE GANKER WITH LOKI'S CORE IDENTITY OF BEING A STEALTHY BURST ASSASSIN WITH BITS OF TRICKERY



SINCE IM SURE DEVS ARE UNWILLING TO REWORK HIS WHOLE KIT AGAIN SINCE THEY SPENT 7 MONTHS ON THIS, I WOULDNT WANNA WAIT ANOTHER 7 JUST TO BE EITHER RELIEVED OR DISSAPPOINTED AGAIN. IF DEVS COULD JUST LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY AROUND LOKI AND NOT JUST THE ANGRY REDDIT TROLLS CLAIMING "LoKI iZ OP, pLz NErF". ITS LIKE THERES THIS DISCRIMINATION AGAINST LOKI USERS.

HERE ARE MY IDEAS OF A REWORK ONLY FOR HIS 2 AND 3 THAT HAS MORE SUSTAINABILITY AND MOBILITY TO COMPETE WITH THE ENEMY JUNGLER



NEW 2:
"DECOY"
Ability: Pet/Teleport
Affects: Self and Enemies

Loki spawns a decoy of himself to a target location with 25% of Loki's base health and can only deal 50% basic attack damage. When the decoy expires or loses all HP from taking damage, the decoy explodes dealing damage to all enemies in the radius. This ability can be activated again where Loki teleports to the decoy's location and explodes for 75% damage. Doesn't aggro or taunt minions and towers.
Explosion Damage: 90/140/190/240/290
Radius: 20
Decoy Duration: 8s
Decoy Range: 50m
Cooldown: 10s

Notes:
- Can be used during Vanish without dispelling it.
- The decoy has unit collision.
- The decoy can target and be attacked by enemy gods
- Cooldown wont begin until after decoy is gone

NEW 3:
"HIDDEN DAGGERS"
Ability: Stim/Line
Affects: Self and Enemies

Loki summons an aura of 5 shadow daggers spinning around him. Nearby enemies are dealt damage and slowed every time a dagger passes through an enemy every .75s. Activating this ability again puts you in a ranged mode being able to send one dagger at a time.
Damage per tick: 30/45/60/75/90
Aura duration: 5s
Aura radius: 15m
Range Damage: 30/40/50/60/70
Range: 30m
Slow per tick: 6/12/18/24/30%

Notes:
- Can be used during Vanish, activating range mode dispells Vanish upon first attack
- Daggers aura can pass thru enemies and ranged daggers stops at first enemy collision
- Can benefit from Behind You! passive

Again these are just ideas, I have the highest of doubts Hi-Rez will do anything similar to this or even just see this guide itself but youre welcome to share these ideas to the devs on their social media accounts.

Hey, Overall nice guide, just some overall comments I want to say about your builds from one Loki player to another.

- I personally see a lot of loki players building Jotunn's Wrath, its just a bad item, the stats arent worth it, and it falls of late game anyway. I'd be going The Crusher most of the time if in the jungle.

- Also if you're juggling I wouldn't recommend building Transcendence as that just takes too long to get online, as a jungler you're trying to race against the enemy jungler. You should be opting in for some kind of burst, again The Crusher would be optimal.

- I like the addition of Soul Eater that item is amazing on Loki, people underestimate that item for the stats it provides at such a low cost.

-Moving onto the Crit build. Idk why you have Heartseeker in a crit build. Heartseeker is used purely for ability damage and in a crit build you're trying to get as much AA's off as possible by auto cancelling. Id remove Heartseeker and keep the Titan's Bane.

- Also you mentioned the Crit build should only be used in the jungle because of how expensive the items are. Why is that though? Isnt it the other way around? In Solo you gain the most amount of gold, so you'd come online quicker in the Solo lane than Jungle. I'd prefer going Crit in solo than Jungle.

-Finally Moving onto your last builds: Tanky/Split-push builds. So these must be troll builds right? I do not see any loki player building this, you'd be completely useless, even if you build this as support. His kit is made to do damage and these builds just don't cut it.

-Also you mentioned this is also for split-pushing, there 0% penetration on any of those builds so idk how you're gonna take down objectives. If you want to split push I really enjoy your "backdoor" build on the first page, it provides max % pen and attack speed, plus Berserker's Shield is a pretty good split pushing item on loki

-Jotunns wrath is solely for the cooldown it helps with camps since youre relying on abilities to cooldown faster than AA and Decoy before, i mention you can go brawlers if theres healing of any kind on the enemy team but Crushers is fine too

-Transcendence is for the big mana and power buff it gives when stacked, thats why i said get it instead of the blessing to get it stacked early

-Soul Eater is underestimated indeed. Great for ability damage and heals

-Heartseeker for crit is interchangeable with Titans, its an option there just in case you want the 65 power and 200 mana. Titans Bane is the way to go if youre just one shotting.

-Crit should be only in the jungle cuz the solo meta right now with the recent buffs to warriors items make its difficult to go against warriors. Thats why the Tanky Bruiser build was made cuz there you actually have a chance

-No im not trolling, with that build, i won almost every game ive gone into solo lane. Loki can be a bruiser since youre getting arondight, glad shield, and sledge. Also loki support is a no go. No peels or heavy CCs. You rely on your 2 and ult so much.

-As for split-pushing, yes you can go with the backdoor build i put if youre going solo lane. You can replace glad shield w/ berzerkers if youd like. Just get the Belt of Frenzy and youll be fine with the Bruiser Build.

Again these are all build that work CURRENTLY and that worked in PTS. So dont knock em til you try it. They work for me and people i advised to build when trying loki for the first time. This guide will update when it needs to, if theres a new build im trying that works better than the ones listed, then ill update it and add it.

- I just feel like Jotunns is a very underwhelming item, I do understand the reasoning, that you want to have more cooldowns for camps, but I think more burst like, Crusher or Brawlers will provide more for the team. And you get cool down already from hydra's and soul eater, or trans. I remember running Jotunn's for the longest time but came to the conclusion there are just much better items.

- I Understand Trans provides a bigger mana pool cause Loki is a hungry monster when it comes to mana, but I think having Assasin's blessing helps with that problem. Plus like I said previously, it just takes too long to get online, and by the time you stack It, the jungler will probably have more burst potential and you'd be behind

- I'm still confused on the reasoning behind heartseeker? Isnt that Counter-intuitive though? You're trying to use as much autos on crit, not abilities, wit his new kit you actually want to ability cancel the 3 so you get another auto-attack faster when this build is fully online, which shows how bad this new loki re-work is.

- IF you're playing loki in solo, I don't think you should be fighting the warrior in the first place, your main priority in the solo lane is to PVE Farm and proxy, and get to rotating to mid and gank to your heart's content lol. Fighting the solo warrior just wastes time, when you could be doing other things.

- With regards to your tanky builds, I just can't believe those builds can be viable, or I need to see the build in action because I know for a fact in high MMR games this won't work. I'm not going to assume your MMR cause you might be in a high MMR but I'm just very doubtful this works in Master ranks. Regardless Loki is not available in ranked yet. Again might be totally wrong, but if it works for you then keep doing you.

Overall reading your Opinions on the new Kit, and as a loki main, I'm surprised you approve of this rework. For me personally, it's very bad. Im not salty or anything, I'm actually all for a loki rework, but this rework is complete ***.

The main reason Low-rez was doing the rework in the first place was to make his jungling better, provide more teamfight potential, and steer away from split pushing. And they only achieved one of those 3 which is making his jungling better, obviously, he clears jungle camps much better than before but that's all. His 1 got Nerfed hard cause they added that laugh sound, his 2 is supposed to provide more teamfight/AOE damage but its the worst ability in his kit because no one is gonna stand in that circle for more than 2 seconds, and his blind isnt actually a blind. His 3 is toooo long and not even CC immune? If you're building crit, and thats fully online its better to abilty cancel the 3 into an auto attack, which says a lot about this ability - useless other than for jungle camps. Finally his Ult just takes too long.

I know these are some points you mentioned and where he could receive buffs to make him better,I just feel like this is a huge downgrade, even if they buff him, people will start complaining and then he'll get nerfed to the ground again... Why not just revert back lol

Also the last thing I wanted to mention was your very last comment on missing his split pushing. I think hes a better split pusher than he was previously. Cause his auto chain got reverted, its faster to take down objectives, and not to mention the damage reduction on his 2 against the titan proves useful.

Overall Loki does the same exact thing as before but worse. I don't see any improvement in Teamfight potential as of now. But this is all subject to change.
