Notes This Alt Start build slows your initial gold generation speed for a few minutes in exchange for the ability to engage the opposing team more directly early on allowing a potential early game level lead for your ADC. I would recommend buying the guardians blessing as soon as you get 700g to even you back out in gold generation.

Notes Late game selling shoes and buying a permanent speed elixir is my go to option. It allows me to keep my movement speed from my boots but allows me to be more of a threat to the opposing team. I will sub out my shoes for one of these three items depending on the situation. on this late game build it is also reasonable to sell tyrannical plate helm as the passive becomes somewhat unnecessary

STD Build Item Explination

My standard build aims for lane push and good balance of offensive and defensive capability.

Reinforced Shoes: at the start of the Game shoes are a must, the ability to get back in lane quickly if you die or needed to back is crucial to your Carry and your lane push. Shoes give you 6% move speed at tier 1 & 18% at tier 3. this with the added passive of "Every time you are damaged by a god you gain a stack that provides 3 Physical and Magical Protections. Stacks up to 7 times, Lasts 6s" makes a great combo with sobeks normal passive Blessing of the Nile.

Tyrannical Plate Helm:One of the new Items in Season 7! This item is the first item to buff minions in your lane, this buff can be a huge asset in the early game for you and your ADC! not to mention the minions helping hit the enemy has help me finish them before they can hit there tower! the buff plus 70 Magical power and 20% CCR is a real winner in my book even if it is still to early to tell the long term viability of the item.

Gauntlet of Thebes:Gauntlets gives you your first big health spike by an item, at 300 you're going to come back down lane a more confident god! Couple the health boost with stacking of magical and physical protection and you're going to start being a character that the enemy won't want to deal with 1v1.

Shield of RegrowthShield of Regrowth: This item gives you another hearty boost of 300 to your health. along side some CDR and HP5 and MP5 this is a great next step in your build. the kicker for this item is it give you a huge 4 second Speed boost of 40% off your sickening strike which can help get you out of some real sticky situations!

Mantle of Discord:Mantle of discord is a staple in a sobek build. Its 60 Magical and 60 Physical protection is really good for handling damage in mid game. couple the protections with added CDR and passive 1 sec stun to all enemy Gods within 22 units of you when you take a hit under 30% health. your going to become valuable in team fights!

Heartward Amulet:finally your amulet, a health boost of 250 and 55 more magical protection to help you soak up those hard hitting abilities is real nice! add that to the passive aura giving your teammates 15 extra magical protection and 30MP5 there going be thanking you!

ALT. Build Item Explination

This Build aims for early aggression to boost your ADC and add hard pressure to duo lane

Reinforced Shoes: Just like in my Standard build, at the start of the Game shoes are a must. The ability to get back in lane quickly if you die or needed to back is crucial to your Carry and your lane push.

Stone of Gaia: Gaia delivers a bangin boost of 400 Health accompanied by 25 HP5 and 15 MP5. this give you ample space to engage in fights. she also delivers two passives 1) a health boost when hit by knockups, knockbacks, pulls, and grabs and 2) .3% of your health back per second. For context .3 on a health pool of 3000 is 9 meaning on this build you get 17 Health per second effectively. that is full health in under 3 minutes with out backing.

Gauntlet of Thebes: Gauntlets will get you another beefy health boost of 300! at this point your ADC will thank you for being a bit more of a tank as abilities are going to start ramping and the passive magical and physical protection is going to start moving you in to a good shield territory.

Mantle of Discord: also just like in my Standard build, Mantle of discord is a staple in a sobek build. Its 60 Magical and 60 Physical protection is really good for handling damage in mid game. couple the protections with added CDR and passive 1 sec stun to all enemy Gods within 22 units of you when you take a hit under 30% health. your going to become valuable in team fights!

Chronos' Pendant: Chronos' Pendant is on this build because when you go this route your wanting be aggressive, so shorter Cool downs are a must for firing off your abilities quicker. chronos will give you 20% CDR, 20 MP5, and a 100 Magical Power bump to aid you in pushing the enemy harder. and its passive of shedding 1 second off all ability cool downs every 10 seconds means your abilities are going to be ready before you even know it!

Ethereal Staff: finally Ethereal staff is going to give you more magical power (90), more health (200), and top off your CCR at 40%! But the real reason to buy this item is the Debuff, every time you damage a enemy god you are going to steal (meaning they LOSE and your GAIN) 6% of there health and 8% of there mana for 45 seconds. This can be stacked once every 15 seconds which can be detrimental in late game!

Hello Mac (again),

Some feedback of your build (again):
  • First of all, let me point what support must do in a match: Basically peel and engage. So, you basically have to start good fights, maybe picking up someone with you 1 or something like that and peel your teammates (protect them from threats) like throwing away enemies focusing your carries/ use skills, relics...to mess with the enemy trying to hit your backline. That's what every support is supposed to do in this game.

  • To do that, you will need a tank build, 'cause you can't protect if you die as fast as him. Everything ok until now, right?

  • So starting with some mistakes on your build that mess with your gameplay, Book of Thoth and Hide of the Urchin are NEVER LATE GAME ITEMS because you want the stacks as soon as possible. You can't get stack items in general as late game options because you simply won't be able to stack it. At late game you will have more than ever peel and start fights for your teammates, you just can't kill minions or look for kill/assists in these fights. Also they are not support items so they shouldn't be listed anyway because Hide is too selfish, you won't help your team with that just yourself, and build thinking about just yourself in general is a job for the solo laner. BoT is a power item made for those looking for power and mana but as a support you want be TANKY and not POWERFUL, so you can get the mana from defensive items and they will give you also tanky stats that will be way more useful.

  • Never build auras PROTECTIONS too late like you did with Heartward Amulet. Aura PROTECTIONS are more efficient early game and make a good impact in teamfights so, if you want aura, you want it earlier (may Void Stone is an exception). Why? Because late game the enemy will have penetration like ( The Executioner, Titan's Bane and many others Pen).

  • DO NOT GET meditation cloak as support. This relic not only has few to none impact in conquest early game but becomes a very useless item late game wasting your relic slot. Sure it restores mana but that can be just manage and you won't be out of mana. Also you have an entire ulti that restores your mana so you can use that too. And the HP restored is healing, so, if the enemy has 3 anti healing items you basically will not heal anymore, just the mana. So if you want to save yourself and your ally, choose Magic Shell since it provides a shield that prevent incoming damage, not only bigger than mediation HP restored but also powerful stats when fully upgraded that is block basic attacks (complete deny any incoming damage).

  • Chronos' Pendant is not an option for supports because you can get the stats from defensive items and you don't need power 99% of the times. You can easily swap it for Pridwen and get the MP5 from an item like Oni, Genji...

  • Stone of Gaia is not a good item since it doesn't provide anything useful and the healing is easy countered by any antiheal in the game. So again, if the enemy build 3 items, no healing for you. And as it don't bring anything except HP, build Thebes and you will be much more well served.

As I promised here's the feedback, more complete now. I hope you read it.

So honestly looking at the build it looks more like a solo lane build then a support build.

Assuming this is a support build let's start by looking at both your starts the first one is decent, although the 6% movement speed won't be as noticeable as the 100 hp and the hp5 from the glowing emerald. although it does not allow to start with a chalice (and in most cases I would agree with kriega that HP chalice is better as it helps you with surviving the hits you tank for your adc and minion agro)
The second start I would like to heavily discourage, mostly because delaying blessing is going to hurt you a lot more as you already identified yourself. you also miss out on some sustain. And lastly meditation is considered a noob trap as early you feel the effects but lategame the effect drops heavily and other relics are better.

Both other builds are like said before quite solo oriented as they contain quite some power, however sobek's scalings are quite low so power is not really that great.
A lot of the other items are quite selfish instead of supportive. Also with a bit of pen you will be pretty squishy.

lastly the skill order I can kinda see why you start with Charge Prey especially if you would use the alt start, however I think it's a bad choice as the opponent wil outclear you at the start discouraging early aggression unless you are under the tower most of the start. Starting with Tail Whip or sickening strike will be better as you can clear void faster and help with the wave. Also I wonder why you split the lvl ups between 2 & 3. IMO sickening with the healing and healing reduction is stronger to prioritize.

Kriega1 (143) | February 10, 2020 7:42am
You don't need mana chalice on a support. You get mp5 from your blessing and you can get mana sustain with mana or multi pots.

I also find it quite concerning that you think Book of Thoth and Chronos' pendant are suitable items for a support build, they're not.

i only use it early ill sell it later

Kriega1 (143) | February 10, 2020 8:02am
Then that's wasting even more gold than already buying chalice in the first place.

You don't see ANY high level ranked or pro support players pick up mana chalice - it just isn't necessary to have.

probably want to slightly rephrase the aura part as it really is aura dependent how efficient they are. Technically they will always have an effect although how much you notice of it depends on the point of the game.
1
xmysterionz (71) | February 10, 2020 9:31am
I didn't say it doesn't have efficiency after late game I just said early game Aura protections are way more efficient than in a moment when the enemy has already Pen.

I mean the build works fine for me, that is the point, just because it isn't min/maxed or geared toward how you want support to be played doesn't invalidate it. I made choices based on how I view a supports role should be played if you don't like it, I'm sorry. However. almost every build on this website is the same, I choose to try and make a balanced off and def build that feels more useful to me then a moving wall.

Edit: i would like to point out when you buy an item should be subjective to the game not particularly what slot the are in the guide. just my opinion.

Kriega1 (143) | February 10, 2020 10:03am
>"i would like to point out when you buy an item should be subjective to the game not particularly what slot the are in the guide."

Dude. Not everything is subjective in this game. You can literally do damage calculations and in game tests to see what typical set of builds/items perform the best in a specific function (e.g. mitigating damage, aura + mitigating damage, top dps etc...), it's what the coaches for the Pro SPL teams do and helps to dictate the meta, while also keeping up with patch item changes.

Now when you do nonsense like building Chronos' Pendant on a support, when you can get CDR from your defensive items choices and the 500 gold pot, and when you can get better damage output (and added tankiness) from Ethereal Staff or even picking up something whacky (on a Support) like Spear of Deso due to it's power + flat pen combo for high squishy damage, you can see how your faulty item pickups can be improved.

And you still haven't addressed why Book of Thoth is even listed in a support build.

If you're submitting this guide in hopes of doing well in the guide competition you're going to need to wake up and make some fixes.

Just because it worked for you it doesn't mean it's good (or bad). We have plenty of item options but some items were made to be used in some specific situations and/or specific roles. For example, you can't get stack items as late game options because you simply won't be able to stack it. At late game you will have more than ever peel and start fights for your teammates, you just can't kill minions or look for kill/assists in these fights.

What we do here is discuss when build and when not build some stuffs because, let's be honest, people usually come here to find "the best build" and "the best way to play with" some god and then we also think everyone here comes to show their best strategies and we reply with questions and answers, called feedback, with our view point, some people with more experience and higher levels and others with lower levels and less experience but we all try to talk about the strategies here, if you don't want to do it, Then I'M SORRY FOR YOU.

I showed my points of how you can make your guide better, if you will follow or not my tips it's not with me anymore, I can't help someone that doesn't want to be helped.
