IF you do need a protection item, you shouldn't get more than 1 defensive item in your build in most matches. In very specific situations (e.g. enemy team has 5 magical gods or 5 physical gods, you could possibly consider getting 2 protection items, preferably ones with hybrid function - so some form of offensive stat on them). Also, i tried rushing tier 2 book, do you think that works with lacking mana sustain? i think start 2 is way better.
