This game is nothing like League of Legends, I don't know what you're getting that from? The mechanics are nothing like it. Although I must say that I too, enjoyed the game a lot more than I do these days, but I still find it to be a great game. We'll just have to wait and see how it ends up at launch which should be within 2-3 months. After that, I don't think that we'll be seeing this much changes. :)

Have you played LoL? Smite literally ripped the mechanics from LoL.

I don't get how people can be so negative to changes..

Everyone I know and play with on a regular basis loves the changes and thinks it is a lot more fun now than it was before. Noted that this might be because they play together and have good communication with skype/ts, at least it seems to me that the new map demands more communication and warding (haven't tried it yet because I'm on holiday). The experience from solo queue might suffer because of that, but the premade experience will be so much more rewarding.

When it comes to jungling, I just think this opens the game up so that you can do more than just the static 2-1-2 lanes. And no I don't think you have to have a jungler, but if you don't have a jungler your focus have to be on shutting down the enemy jungler (Wards is the key for that).

All that the changes do is to make you think and figure out new ways to play. That's what I've been enjoying with this game so far, there is always some new strategy you can try out etc. But of course in solo queue strategy isn't worth **** really, so I can understand the frustration if you are playing solo.

When it comes to being like LOL, I don't really see that. I think Smite is the most extraordinary MOBA out there (at least compared to LOL, HON, DOTA, Dawngate etc). Of course there will be some similarities, but that's just because it is a MOBA. And I don't get what the similarities are either, just that they added jungling?

Yeah I used to play League of Legends before Smite went into closed beta, why? Smite is as much of a copy of HoN and Dota as it's with League of Legends.

This. It's a lot more rewarding to play with friends these days as the game now requires team work more than just tank and spank. :)

Everyone, just take a moment to stand still and appreciate how stupid this comment actually is ^___^
Anyways, Smite did rip off lol, but after a short time it went to another direction, buuuuuuut now it has to add some stupid LoL features which no one asked for. If I wanted to play something with lol features I would probably be playing lol

What is the LoL features you are talking about?

All I can see is MOBA features :P

I can't boast about playing a lot of mobas, but I have played LoL for a least a year and some HoN. And I couldn't really see that Smite was any more similar to LoL than to HoN. The playstyle is to me more of a mix of MOBAs, WoW, Boodline champions and fps, which I thought was just an epic experience and I still feel is an epic experience and really really rewarding.

LoL featured a lot of things, like downing the competitive aspect a bit, added active abilities gave a lot of heroes escapes, simpled some mechanics. We aren't talking about omg lanepushing, but lol mechanics

^ This. I don't see any League of Legends mechanics in Smite, other than the regular MOBA basics. The items isin't sharing the same system, nor do they share the same map system other than ARAM/Assault.

I agree that the latest Combat Blink and Shielded Recall looks a bit dumb (liked that Smite didn't have flash), but that isn't a LoL mechanic is it? Pretty sure they got the same thing in Dota and HoN.

What do you mean about downing the competitive aspect?

You don't have exactly that in dota or hon, there basically all the items have an active

LoL is more a casual and forgiving game than dota or hon

ahhh, Yeah that is true. Flash/Combat Blink makes the game a bit more forgiving. But a lot of people complained about the game being to unforgiving when jungling started (maybe it is to compensate for that?). Can't say something before I try it out myself, but I don't like the idea of either combat blink or shielded recall.

When it comes to items with actives, I think it is better to have them as separate items (as the actives in Smite). That way you wont be forced into buying an item you don't really like, but you need the active. That was at least how I felt it when playing HoN (noted I just played a few months with some friends who had played it for a long time).
