Stats was completely abolished after a few weeks.

Focus was gradually phased out and completely gone with the Neith patch.

Both things that the community hated from the start, were taken out of the game. In other words, things returned to the status quo after all that chaos. The community never really grew from it, they just kept demanding the removal of those two things until they were finally gone.
Waiting on a good new MOBA, please.

Stats and Focus was a way of Hi-Rez trying to make their system unique in some way. What they weren't taking into consideration is that society generally hates change, as it takes them out of their comfort zone for a bit, making it a strenuous task to get used to it. However, as long as change is subtle and over a long duration, people generally won't mind. Hi-Rez was making huge changes every patch, making Smite players a bit uncomfortable and constantly having to adjust to a new meta every two weeks.

I believe Hi-Rez have realised that trying to make themselves unique in some way is damaging, as they're trying so hard to be different, yet LoL players (where the majority of the players migrated from) cannot adjust to this.

I reckon Hi-Rez is best off just trying to not change anything and have a similar system to LoL, as it will be the most comfortable for players.

If Hi-Rez continues to make changes like the new map and jungling it will die.
I don't even know what the meta should be!
Dota, HoN and LoL haven't made half as much changes over the year as Smite did and they are still very popular.
There is no reason to change things that were perfect like the actives, the map, the jungle ect.
I feel like any other moba can succeed to have a meta that is continous.

Btw, I bet all my money on a courier in the next update
Hi-Rez said that they won't make any huge changes anymore. That was 2 months ago
No one can addapt to Smite anymore so people quit

I wouldn't mind couriers. Couriers is probably my favourite thing from DotA.

Also, I hate combat blink. Flash is the biggest problem I have with LoL, and Smite basically just put the exact same thing into their game.

Dude, they changed everything! And you know what's funny? The game before Ne Zha was totally perfect! Now everything is broken, mechanics suck, map sucks, and I hate jungling. We had roaming before we had jungling which was way more fun, the game was more agressive and the role of a tank was fun to play. Now only the jungler can do ANYTHING they want, the rest of the team is either afk-farming or just straight up towerhugging.

Meanwhile at Hi-Rez

It's because they aren't in a beta, while Smite is. During the beta, the developers are able to change back and forth what ever they want, as it's theoretically not a finished game right now. Don't blame them for trying to find the playstyle they want their game to be for years to come.

I know it's a beta, but they are changing things that were perfectly fine and not changing things that need to be changed right away. The game could have already come out a long time ago, because it basically is and was a finished game (andding gods can also be done trough the full game, and so can making stupid decisions) if this is how Smite will be than it's really just gonna be a LoL clone with a perk. So far I believed that Smite would be different, but it won't D:

This game is nothing like League of Legends, I don't know what you're getting that from? The mechanics are nothing like it. Although I must say that I too, enjoyed the game a lot more than I do these days, but I still find it to be a great game. We'll just have to wait and see how it ends up at launch which should be within 2-3 months. After that, I don't think that we'll be seeing this much changes. :)

i agree with comicbook guy smite was perfectly fine before jungling i think most change's and terrible though some are good the probleme is someone in Hirez wanted these change's while there were no complaint's about the game before. some of the changes are good i think the swing cains are cool at that the split final item's are interesting but those might as well have been normal item's on them self's jungling has especially on this map made the game redicoulessly passive while there goal was to make it less passive. now all you need to do is pick Ranged Carry go right and you will have the tower down in 3 minute's the second at the 5 minute mark while already killing the solo laner it's SO BORING i tried jungling and even that isn't fun anymore this was a completly failed experiment that the tried way to hard on that almost no one like's and made people quit the game.

it's in BETA they should experiment but if something doesn't get well reseifd by the audince than don't try to hard to make them like it the ONLY REASON WHY THEY CHANGED THE MAP IS TO MAKE PEOPLE LIKE JUNGLING and that include's every one.

again smite is in BETA so they should experiment but if it go's at a cost of the communety than role back to how it used to be.

they had a great communety by being differnent but that's gone now because the turned it into a clone of INSERT NAME OF POPULAR MOBA HERE.

all we can do is make as much noise as possible by going to their forum's, making youtube video's send them E-mail's or just a giant petition online.
