DM is probably one of the best players in the world when it comes to gameknowledge. But he is not the most mechanically gifted player, but he is one of the best theorycrafters in Smite (spends tons of hours on PTS).

Most recently he came up with the Mark of the Vanguard + Death's Toll TP into sololane start for example.

Yes he was called BM because he was pretty BM, but that is just how he is. He is at least less BM now.

He used to be a caster for HiRez and he was insanely good at it compared to the once we got now. Which is the reason why me and pretty much everyone I know rather watch DM stream himself watching all the pro games instead of watching it on Smitegame :p

I'll never get over the fact he was talking down and insulting a fan who was suicidal. He's a ****ing ****less cuck and doesn't deserve the amount of praise he gets.

Yeah honestly regardless of someone's worth to a sport or game, that doesn't excuse their actions in or outside of the community. Deifying people because of their skills or how much they give back to their community is a poor choice if it ends up covering up how much of an awful person they are.

Don't forget that one time where he banned a guy for changing his name to DMsfangirl and sniping him in a pts game cause he got killed and he VEL'd or something, back when he still worked at hi-rez and they didn't even unban him.

Alright, I'm not defending how he said what he did about the suicide guy, but as someone who has been on both ends of the block I can understand the underlying message of what he did say. Especially, having learned what I have about the guys life and related situations.

However, regarding the DMsfangirl situation there were a few players that were specifically targeting his streamed games with names related to, if I'm remembering correctly, his sister, who was murdered, and a friend who committed suicide. The player in this instance, SoupKitchen, had repeated reports and previous bans involving harassment of players, including DM. Stew even commented on the whole situation saying that if this similar situation had happened with another player and gone noticed he would still have been permabanned. Likening it too how if you flip off a police officer and speed past you're more likely to get in trouble than if you simply are going a bit over the speed limit and pass that officer at a similar time.

This has even happened recently with regards to Squid and HirezTaco. Where he messaged her with a comment that could have been racially targeted and quickly got banned. The trend still has to be there, but like any comparable real life situation if you mouth off to the wrong people they could speed up the process or put the right people onto you for what you did wrong. Hell even more recently was the guy that made the DMletAlliedDie account that just sat in his customs for hours.

I don't agree with everything DM says or does, but that player certainly wouldn't have been permabanned if there wasn't a strong history of the behavior. HiRez doesn't make money banning players. However, he is targeted for harassment and some of the hate is a bit more than is deserved, and the Reddit *********** is a large contributor to that excess.

Yes DM has said and done some stuff that he shouldn't have, but who haven't? I for one has said and done tons of stupid **** that I shouldn't have done or said.

The suicide rant was pretty far over the line IMO. But in his defence he had on more than one occasion talked about his views on suicide on stream (followed him quite a lot back in the early days of Smite, stopped for a long while after that rant.). And he had called ppl out on numerous occasions for making jokes about suicide because of his history with suicide.

And as he said in his "apology" post, he goes blind when it comes to this topic. So he probably didn't read the donation properly like the guy in the second video does.

Yes he handed it wrong, but if one outburst like that is enough to make you hate a guy. I think you are pretty shallow, you don't know DMs history with suicide (neither do I). But a "normal" person with little or no experience with depression, suicide etc. would ofc. not react like that. But you have to be able to think about it not just from your perspective.

So yeah, I still don't love the guy. But he definitely do not deserve all the hate, and I think it is sad to keep bickering about the same old stuff.
Just reminds me of ppl who hate Smitefire for no real reason other than that they have read that you should hate it on reddit...
