It finally happened. First penta ever. And of course it was in Assault. And of course it was with Freya.

http://smite.guru/censor/match/hr/38229

Weird match. Enemy team had 4 physical gods. Ours was balanced, but only for the first 5 minutes or so...then our Kali dropped. She DID try to come back...but immediately dropped again, and we never saw her after that.

A fairly early Witchblade really helped me soak up damage. I really wish our Bacchus didn't start Soul Reaver and got Sovereignty instead. Our entire team seemed to have major issues healing up, and Sov would have helped that.

In any case, my penta came a few minutes before we finished the match. They had just finished our Phoenix and we had been pushed back all the way to our titan. It took me a span of about 30 seconds to get them all, and I didn't actually realize I had gotten the Penta until I heard "congratulations!" or something like that, in...I think it was Freya's voice? I don't know, I didn't have my speaker…

Supposedly, proc is short for "Programmed Random OCcurrence" meaning that an item has a chance to apply an effect on hit. However, I don't think SMITE has any of these, since items that apply on-hit effects are guaranteed to apply them. And yet we still say that something will "proc" a passive or "proc" Polynomicon or Spear of the Magus. I think it might have mutated at some point into just "PRogrammed OCcurrence". What do you think? Have we been using "proc" the wrong way this whole time?
This isn't the only confusing thing in MOBA jargon. I have no idea if "meta" is an acronym or not.

A New Milestone

Well it's been one full year since I joined on this site. And man that was a heck of a journey. I grew in quite bit of knowledge of Smite and able to share my knowledge with the entire Smite community. I like doing this because I feel that I'm making a difference. So for this occasion I'll unarchive my first guide I ever did and post a link in here so you guys could look at that. Then I'll post a like for my Ra to see how much I grew in knowledge in Smite and BBcoding. I just want to shoutout to all the people that help on this journey. DucksRock, xZeroStrike, PerfectPrism, and BranMuffin17.

So here's the link of my first guide:
My First Guide.

Here's the link of my Ra guide:

Tilt

It finally happened. Two days in a row of poor matches and generally poor gameplay by me finally did it.

I tilted. Serves me right for posting this one.

Smite.Guru Game Summaries

Okay, so my tilt might be a bit different than yours. You might not even consider it tilting, really, when the only effect you see from me is a heavy sigh. But ask the inner me at the time of my last games (2 custom 3 v 3s w/ clanmates, happened after the Sol arena match), and SMITE was the last thing I wanted to play.

In the last 2 1/2 years since I've been playing…

I'm feeling the love bursting from my chest.

I love Assault. Now don't get me wrong. I now have some appreciation for every game mode.
  • Arena: quick gameplay, sure it's unbalanced, but sometimes interesting comps work. It's also quick and a good warmup.
  • Clash: it's sort of like an elongated Arena. Sure it's got 2 (really close) lanes and some objectives, but it's still mostly a teamfight.
  • Joust: even though I suck at it, being in a 3-man is like an intimate version of a 5-man queue. Great for when you can't get a full team together.
  • Siege: now that I understand the mode better, I'm down for it, at least when queuing a full group. I can build like I would for Conquest, with starting items and stacking items, and it's like always being in the Duo lane, with a sometimes weird comp. I like the warping option...convenient.
  • Conquest: Even if we only have 3 or 4, queuing for this means that me and my teammates are the bulk of the team, minimizing toxicity to some degree. Now that I'm a bit

This is mostly about last night's match, though I'll summarize a few previous games.

Conquest matches have been few and far between for me lately. I only play that mode when friends are also playing, and since school started back up for a lot of them, it's made it more difficult to get people together.

So I've mostly gone back to my roots, playing Assault more than anything. In general, since expanding my repertoire of modes, my level of play in Assault has gotten significantly better.

Even when our team is losing, when our comp is horrible, when my score is poor, I find that I'm doing generally well, confirmed by looking at my stats. But man, there are streaks. One day, every game I played was a win. The next two nights, I couldn't buy a win. Weird how that goes.

Oh, and I had no clue how Raijin's ult worked. That was embarrassing...got a lot of BM on that one. My bad, should have messed around with him in jungle practice or something first.

With regard to Conquest, it continues…

This has been on my mind for a while, so thought I'd blog it. Sorry for the TL;DR.

Firstly, for anyone not familiar with me, I'm a full-on casual player on PC. I generally don't take the game too seriously, and I've never said that I'm a great player. However, that doesn't mean I don't want to do my best, no matter if it's an unbalanced solo-queue Assault match, or a Conquest match with clan-mates (which, by the way, includes SF regulars such as DucksRock, ThePerfectPrism, Zilby, GameGeekFan, Bullfrog323, and others). If you're curious, you can view my records on SmiteGuru, here.

Part of doing my best is trying to be aware, and of playing intelligently (e.g. not diving when I know it's unlikely to end in my favor). This is extremely variable, as it is affected by things such as the quality of teammates' and enemy's plays and skill level, the composition of gods, etc. In a way, I have little control over some of these things.

The other part of doing my best is the effort I've put int

I tend to hear that Anubis is the most OP god in Smite, and I often find it to be true that he is OP; however the most OP doesn't seem true. Who else has the power to drop people like Anubis?
