Introduction

Hello people! I am AzureNightmare, and welcome to my first guide on Zhong Kui. Zhong Kui is a fairly new god but I have a solid grip on his play style and I would like to share it with you too! Zhong Kui is a combo reliant mage who excells at mid lane. He is an awesome duelist being able to take on most gods with no ****s given in 1v1 situations. Not only that but he has an amazing team fight presence with his maniacal ult. So without further ado welcome to my guide...

ZHONG KUI

Pros / Cons

Pros

+Awesome sustain
+Fast lane clear
+Great duelist due
to his ability to harass and then heal up
+Fantastic initiator
+Not as squishy as you'd
think thanks to his passive stacks
+Unbelievable teamfight
potential due to his ult
+Supremely fun to play
+HE IS A GHOSTBUSTER!!

Cons

-Weak to ganks
-CC can shut him down fast
-Somewhat long cooldowns
-Needs combo hits to deal
heavy damage

Skills

Demon Bag

This passive, is just...wow. Demon Bag makes it so that everytime you steal someones soul using your Exorcism you get a stack with 3 protections up to a maximum of 20 stacks. So by my calculation 3x20 is...*Googles 3x20* is 60! That is a permenant Elixir of Defence + 10 protections there, and when it doubles in your ult Athena and Sobek will be jelly of your bulkyness. Kinda sucks you lose it upon using your ult though.

Expose Evil

Your bread. You are probably thinking; AzureNightmare why are you so awesome? But you are also thinking why max this before Exorcism and Book of Demons when they do more damage? Well here is the thing when you use either of those you remove the card and instantly apply half of Expose Evils damage instantly, so by improving this ability you improve the others at the same time. As for the skill itself its an highly above average bleed effect with high range and a 6 SECOND SLOW. So its alright I guess.

Exorcism

Your butter. You basically FUS RO DAH the enemies causing their souls to flee and doing insane damage. But the real awesomeness comes it when they have an Expose Evil in their face, in which case you remove it doing EVEN MORE DAMAGE and healing yourself. By a lot. A lot a lot. Not to mention it is how you obtain your souls and your Expose Evil and Exorcism is your lane clear which is a light speed clear. So yeah it I think you get it.

Book Of Demons

This ability gives you a book. But not just any book, this book is like the Crime and Punishment of the Smite World. Passively the book shoots energy balls along with your basic attack...because books can do that appearantly. But seriously this passive, while nothing too amazing is good for some extra damage, not to mention it looks badass. But wait there is more, when you activate it the book spins around you for a near 1 second stun. HOWEVER it can also remove Expose Evil to double that amount. That is a Ymir like stun right there. Also it does superb damage BLAH BLAH...

Recall Demons

This ability is like a bad joke. It heals your team periodically while damaging the enemy and doubling your passive stacks. Need I say more? Basically pop this in a teamfight, your teammates will love you, your enemies will rage and good times will be had.

Items

Shoes Of Magi

Pretty basic stuff. Mana to spam your abilities, magical power for more damage, magical pen for even MORE damage andmovement speed to well...move. Nearly a must have on all mages and Zhong Kui is no exception.

Focused Void Stone

You will be going mid so you will most likely face another mage, so what better way to ensure you will win 1v1 engagements then magical defence? Oh also it gives even MORE magical power and penetration. So yay for damage!

Ethereal Staff

This will give you a whopping 600 health and combined with the stacks from Demon Bag you will be really bulky, especially for a mage. Oh and its passive gives you around 60-70 extra magical power. So extra with bulk and power this item is a must have.

Rod Of Tahuti

Do I even have to explain why you get this? I think the 125 magical power and an amazing 25% increase in MP speaks for itself.

Gem Of Isolation

This item gives all the stats you could ever need, health, magical power, mana... Just the stat would make this worth it but its passive takes it to another level thanks to its
synergy with all his abilities. It especially makes his Recall Demons an unescapeable death trap.

Bancroft's Talon

Hello underrated item! Talon is just ridiculous, lose 40% of your health? Boom insta fully stacked Doom Orb. And it also provides much needed lifesteal. So pretty badass.

Conclusion

Thanks for reading my first guide ever. Hope you liked it, if you did feel free to upvote and if not constructive criticism is welcome. So hopefully this has helped you with Zhong Kui and I'll see you all in my next guide.

Weakinging curse is an excellent idea but due to his built in slow and the Gem of Isolation
i think it is somewhat obselete for Zhong Kui. I usually stick with Aegis Amulet and Purification Beads.

Yeah, I suppose the built-in slow means Gem shouldn't be a priority - I just like annoying the enemy team with an 8 second super slow. :P

Again, very nicely done for a first guide, and I'm going to go ahead and upvote it since you said you plan on updating it in the future.

If you have any questions about BBCoding or formatting, feel free to ask me or look at any of my guides.

Yet again thanks a ton for everything, and as i update in the future ill be sure to ask you for ideas!

P.S. I love your chang'e and hel guides!

First off, thanks for the kind words, it really means a lot :D. And I chose to get a late game Gem of Isolation since Zhong Kui has a built in slow in the shape of his 1. And thanks for the playstyle idea ill definately include it soon.

And as for the 3x20 thing, pssh that was a joke...yeah thats it a joke.

I think Gem of Isolation should be purchased earlier because of how ridiculous his Expose Evil is with it, but I think it's a good build. A playstyle section would be an excellent addition, but for a first guide I think you've done well; you explain each skill, some pro's and con's, and a good build that is partially/mostly explained.

Oh, and I really hope you didn't have to google the product of three multiplied by twenty. :P
