Just to throw this out there, This is my first guide. I know it's not very aesthetically pleasing. Feel free to share your opinion and tell me if I left anything out and I'll add it.
I play the Console version of smite, with nearly 700 hours. I started out on PC with nearly 500 hours but switched when it came to console, due to a bad PC. I do not play very much ranked, since I play with about 3-4 friends on the game. I am very flexible in the game, and can play any of the 5 roles, relatively well

-Weak Early Game(Comes online at level 6-7)
-Escape and Initiate are the same abilities.
-Applies a DoT for every basic attack. For each basic attack it applies a DoT for every second, for 2 seconds. This passive is refreshed every time you land a basic. This passive currently scales for 10% of your physical power.
- This ability buffs a basic attack.This is your primary source of damage. It has no duration; meaning it will last until used. This ability can be used to reset auto attack chains.
Simply: AA, activate ability, AA. DOES NOT TRIGGER Heartseeker
- an AOE ability that deals damage in a 180 degree cone. This is your main wave clear, and secondary damage to Horrible Burns. Daji gains movement speed, and slow immunity while this is active. Your tails will mitigate damage from behind. This triggers Daji's passive
- This will be your primary initiation, and escape. This ability is a teleport, this can be used on any ally, minion, buff, or enemy. This ability deals AoE damage to targets around what you teleport to. This triggers Daji's passive.
- This is a very interesting ability. It starts with Daji' going into the sky, similiar to Rama's Astral Barrage
. Daji can fire up to 3 chains, that slow enemies on impact; this also applies a chain to the enemy. At the end of Paolao all chained enemies are pulled towards the Paolao. This ability can be ended early, which can catch enemies off guard, and pull them before they have a chance to purify it. A CHAIN CANNOT BE APPLIED TO A TARGET THAT HAS PURIFIED A PREVIOUS CHAIN.
Counters & Countering
Nemesis- Nemesis finds her way onto this list due to her shield Retribution-Using this ability lowers Daji's pressure, usually forcing her to take her own overtime damage
Agni-Barely making this list we have Agni, I put him here for his easy stun Noxious Fumes+any other ability. He also has high damage with the fact he has plenty of escape.
Nox-Nox also barely making this list, do to her cripple Shadow Lock & Silence Siphon Darkness Not to mention, she has escape potential with lots of damage.
Scylla-Scylla, was put on this list for the same reason as the previous two. Her root Sic 'Em is just enough for Scylla to get an easy kill from her Crush or I'm a Monster she also has an escape.
Hades-Hades' makes this list do to her silence Shroud of Darkness basically canceling out Daji's One Thousand Cuts effectively lowering her damage. He can also do large quick bursts of damage, heal, and escape.
Thanatos-Thanatos is a very obvious Da Ji counter. His high damage, high chase, and high escape potential give him a large advantage over her. However, this biggest issue is his Soul Reap to counter One Thousand Cuts removing a key damage ability.
Basic Counters-Anything with hard CC, or silence that can do an insane amount of damage.
Like most assassins, she counters anyone that is squishy. No real specific gods here for her to counter, due to her not having CC besides the slow on
which gives her plenty of time to kill anyone who doesn't instantly kill you.
Tips & Tricks
-Daji has the ability to cancel the animation of One Thousand Cuts
at any time, including after the attack itself is finished. This allows you to use another attack faster, than letting the animation finish.
Auto Attack Chain Canceling
-Daji also has the ability to refresh her auto attack chain, allowing another auto almost instantly after the previous one. This is accomplished by using an auto attack then immediately after using Horrible Burns
then clicking again immediately.
Canceling Paolao Early
-Daji has the ability to cancel Paolao
early, pulling all chained enemies. But why is this important? This is important because you can get passed an opponents beads if you cancel it quick enough. Some people, will even waste the beads after they are pulled, allowing even more wreckage to happen.
About the Items
-Bloodforge is either a hit or miss item on lots of players. I tend to only use bloodforge when I play squishy assassins, that will be targeted late game. Like Da Ji. This item helps when fighting more then one opponent. The shield allows you to keep fighting afterwards, if their is no chance of escape.
-Malice is a very good item on Daji. She crits for about 600 on each crit, but the damage is not the important part of this item. The added overtime helps in fights, allowing you to dispose of your foes more efficiently.
Attack Speed Builds
- I personally do not find Attack Speed builds effective on Da Ji. However you can use whatever you want.
