Introduction

Hey hey Luna here again with another guide! Xing is my favourite go-to support. He's hella fun and such a good pick.

Don't forget to comment and like/dislike.
Enjoy! xo

Skills

  • Each time Xing Tian hits an enemy god with an ability,he gains stacks of Smouldering Rage gaining a maximum of 12 stacks. HP5/Stack: 3
  • Xing Tian shouts from his chest, damaging enemies and reducing their basic attack damage aswell as taking DOT (Damage Over Time)based on their maximum health.
    DOT Damage: 1.5/2/2.5/3% per second.
  • Xing Tian knocks his opponents into the air, slams then into the ground and roots them.
  • Xing Tian leaps forward dealing damage to enemies when he lands and has increased protections while in the air. He has 2 charges of Sky-Cutting Axe and may use the second within 3 seconds of using it.
  • Xing Tian spins and hits enemies with his axe, hooking them and spinning them up to 3 times before throwing them and also dealing damage while they are attached.

Pros & Cons

  • Tanky boi
  • Extremely fun to play (especially with the gecko gladiator skin teehee).
  • Small amount of tick damage that surprisingly secures a lot of kills.
  • a fun easy god to pick up if you're new to smite, he has an easy escape and a root and how could I forget the Whirlwind of Rage and Steel. I've been guilty of throwing enemies into my team for fun, and it's funny how it works to your teams advantage.
  • Not only one, but TWO leaps. yes, i said it. TWO leaps. Leaped in by accident or out of position? just jump back the other way dude. ;)
  • Massive survivability late game.
  • Slightly mana hungry early game, be careful and use your abilities when needed. I tend to use my (1) Smouldering Rage a lot early game but still keep track of my mana consumption in case there's a gank or team fight.
  • Very small ranged abilities, except for his leap. it's still low ranged but you get 2 charges of Sky-Cutting Axe.

Tips,Tricks&Combos

Game Stages

  • Try to pick off the carry, or even the support (whoever is over extending or more easy to target).Early game you have the advantage to go in, do some damage and jump back out and possibly secure kills if your carry follows up.
  • Xing has a 2in1 knock up and root in (2) Hook Slam that you SHOULD be taking advantage of early game.
  • Struggles to clear waves, usually by 25 mins it gets easier but you'd have to spam all of your abilities.
  • By now you should've rotated to mid and picked off the enemy mid laner. If they're pushing hard and being too aggressive the only solution is death by Whirlwind of Rage and Steel thrown under your tower. The perfect punishment to fit the crime imo.If you are doing this cheeky strat, make sure you (2) Hook Slam to root them under tower.
  • Mid game is usually chill, I tend to roam around to help other lanes zzzz. Don't forget to Ward the jungle to detect potential ganks and camps.
  • By now you should be able to just... kill them ._. ...
  • Murder them with your Whirlwind or Rage and Steel surely.
  • You're hella tanky at this point, you can easily walk out of fights (most of the time).
  • xing go brrr.

Conclusion

Oh yeah I didn't even see the start. Please go HoG, unless you're maybe Ares or Ymir, every game. You want to try reach wave asap. Standard start is Sentinel's, tier 1 boots, health chalice and HoG.

I personally would rather get Glowing Emerald and rush boots THEN go into Gauntlet of Thebes. My items are listed in order of purchase, Shoes of Focus is first. HOG is a waste of gold sometimes, i even looked at AmoralOne's build and he doesn't have it either. It really depends on how you like to play but i havent missed the first minion wave by not buying it. i'd also like to note it depends on who your carry is, some can clear buff faster than others.

Doesnt matter to me who my ADC is, Hand of the Gods feels like a must, Im not happy going into lane missing health, also I understand you might start Glowing Emerald and then boots rushing after that, but there is no value in doing that, you will walk into mid at lv 4-5 with Glowing Emerald and Magic Shoes while I would be there with either Shoes of Focus or Reinforced Shoes - Like I said there really is no value in starting it, that 100 health isnt going to make or break your laning experience, and if you die early in lane, which happens from time to time, at least you can come back to duo lv 2-4 with Magic Shoes

Also I dont have the start listed on any of my guides, I guess I could add that, but its always the same Starter - Shoes - Chalice of Healing - Hand of the Gods

So personally im not a fan Glowing Emerald first item, there is so much value in rushing boots, because they are cheap, and the early stats are good. You are not getting much value out of rushing Gauntlet of Thebes by time you start stacking, ill be only a few hundred gold away from buying thebes myself, if I didnt sov rush.

Also I think the best start for pots would be Chalice of Healing and Hand of the Gods this lets you get to wave quicker, and you dont miss any minions vs having to auto the camp down and coming to lane missing a quarter of your hp.

Kriega already pointed out the Blink Rune which is a fantastic pick up on Xing, lv 1 or 12 your preference there I would do it first, just cause I want to fight all the time.

Kriega also pointed out the Breastplate of Valor I do not like this, or Genji's Guard on guardian supports. There is no value in getting these items when there are other cooldown items that are better, more suited for the role. For example Pridwen Spirit Robe Relic Dagger - Since we are playing Xing anyway Relic Dagger would be a good pick up.

I am not a fan of Void Stone right now either on support. We just do not have the room to give up for something like that. Honestly if you want to build a damage item, look more towards Spear of the Magus granted you will need to change up your build to make up for the protections you are losing. You can go like:

Sentinel's Embrace - Reinforced Shoes - Stone of Binding - Gauntlet of Thebes - Spear of the Magus - Pridwen // Sell boots for Mantle of Discord or you can keep boots and buy a Elixir of Defense

If you wanted to max your cooldowns because you're Xing, you can do:

Sentinel's Embrace - Shoes of Focus - Gauntlet of Thebes - Pridwen - Spirit Robe - Spear of the Magus // Sell boots for Mantle of Discord or you can keep boots and buy a Elixir of Defense - Either way you keep the 40% CD - and the cooldown items are really good for support. - plus you have the passive in Spear of the Magus You could also replace Spirit Robe with Relic Dagger and Spear of the Magus with a Oni Hunter's Garb or Talisman of Energy

There are tons of ways to work in 40% cd without having to build the selfish solo lane cooldown items.

Your relic choices are fine, I would start with Blink Rune and if they have an AA jungler ill buy Magic Shell second active, if they do not I am buying Sundering Spear - there is nothing wrong with Heavenly Wings or Horrific Emblem these are fine actives, I just find that right now there is a lot of value in Sundering Spear, and Blink Rune is almost a must have.

Sundering Spear is a bit of a troll relic IMO. I like to be a situational support and grab Magic Shell as my first relic. Personally, Genji's Guard is better than Oni Hunter's Grab due to its better protections and generally better passive. i'd never buy Spear of the Magus on Xing Tian as he already does enough damage tbh not to mention there are better items for him to be big tank boi. Void Stone again is a good item, it really depends on preference and your play style. I will add a few more items into the build though, i generally focus on tank over damage to last longer in team fights. iv'e tried building magical items on Xing Tian but i'd rather protections over magical items. I do appreciate the feedback and i will be editing the guide to suit everyone's preferences :)

AmoralOne (11) | April 7, 2021 8:27am
Okay, so first off:

Sundering Spear is not a troll relic at all, you just dont understand how to properly use it, and thats fine! Im all for supps grabbing Magic Shell and Blink Rune or another team fight active. However Sundering Spear is getting a lot of value in Season 8.

Genji's Guard no matter what is always bad though, Like my examples above there are tons of other options more suited for support.

Spear of the Magus is arguably the best damage item for supports. Letting everyone do 7.5% more damage to the enemy is op, you are not buying this item for its power and such, you are buying it for the passive. Adding this passive, with a Sundering Spear everyone will just die.

Void Stone while not bad, is not good at all since we are keeping Starters right now, so you have less slots to work with.

I get that everyone has their own playstyle, but at some point you have to conform to the better choices if you are looking to improve. Adding personal play style guides, and such like that isnt good for new players who come here looking for builds. Every new player that comes to the site should be able to click on a guide and go this is the best for X thing. If you wanted to changed this guide into a joust/arena/slash guide that works as well since you can get away with basically any build there.

Pridwen late is just generally better than breastplate. Also you should really mention Blink on Xing it's a good relic on him.
1
LunaPixie | April 6, 2021 11:00am
Breastplate is still a good option hence why i added it, Pridwen is also listed. It really depends on what you'd like to build that's why i added a lot of options :) Blink is good too but many people in the smite community frown upon supports getting certain relics from what i've experienced. It also depends on how well you're doing too, I know a lot of older smite players wouldn't find it beneficial. I will add it, considering its good for ult engagements but i've definitely been yelled at for buying it.

I don't think I've ever seen someone get chastised for going blink on (specific) supports (including Xing).

Blink is actually very common on specific supports, including Ares, Cerberus, Kuzenbo, Sylvanus, Xing Tian, and Ymir...maybe Kumbhakarna also. In all honesty, Blink Rune would be a normal pickup for me if I was playing Xing. Also...it would be a regular pickup playing Xing in Solo too.

Reason why Pridwen is considered the better item compared to Breastplate of Valor late-game is because of the better utility from the shield and slow, along with balanced protections. BoV is only physical protection, which is fine of course (and it's higher phys prot), but the other big aspect is the mana pool...that's usually something very helpful early game when you can easily burn through your mana stores quickly and before you get other items with mana sustain. But in your example build, you have MP5 in Sentinel's Embrace, Contagion, and Genji's Guard before it, and honestly you'll never run out of mana if you just have the sustain from Genji's; you don't need the extra that BoV provides.

Thus, in agreement with Kriega on both counts...feel Blink should 100% be listed as an option, and feel that Pridwen is a better item choice in your example build for the added utility it brings. It's fine to still list BoV if you want as an option, but Prid in that example build would make the build stronger IMO.
