ADC/ Mid Build Notes This is the finished build used for Loki in the Carry lane if you are on the keeping up with your opposing carry. There are a few problems that you must prepare yourself and your support for and that is a slow early game. If you chose to go for a starter blessing I recommend hunter's blessing. Reason for this being the only other blessings that give damage would be Mage's and Assassin's, but the problem with Mage's is it doesn't give damage to your wave clear which is your decoy, and only gives you damage on your vanish and aimed strike. Assassin's blessing is kinda obvious but you do not farm jungle camps often enough to reach max stacks within a reasonable time.

Build Item Transcendence Transcendence
Build Item Warrior Tabi Warrior Tabi
Build Item Jotunn's Wrath Jotunn's Wrath
Build Item Hydra's Lament Hydra's Lament
Build Item The Crusher The Crusher
Build Item Titan's Bane Titan's Bane

ADC Utility Options Notes Blackthorne Hammer - This item is extremely strong in matchups where you are going to lose early game pretty hard. Although I do not use this combination much I like to pair it with a Warriors Blessing for the extra sustain and protections you are going to need if you are going to get poked out.

Heartseeker - Although nerfed it provides movement speed and more to your burst. it is still a solid item but not powerful enough to be a solid staple in the build. I recommend building it when you are ahead to kill the other ADC as fast as possible and take all the farm.

Brawler's Beat Stick - Great Item against Magical ADCs such as Sol, Chronos, and Freya and is a good pick if the enemy support has Meditation Cloak or the Carry has Bracer of undoing.

Masamune - Great for sustain and I like to pick it up whenever the enemy jungler has beef with any and all Lokis. It gives a good amount of power and movement speed as well as protections and health. All around good item.

Warriors Blessing - This item is for those hyper-aggressive matchups where the enemy adc and support are both early game gods. While this pickup won't guarantee the early game will go any easier, it will help prevent you from dying and getting too far behind.

Build Item Blackthorn Hammer Blackthorn Hammer
Build Item Heartseeker Heartseeker
Build Item Brawler's Beat Stick Brawler's Beat Stick
Build Item Masamune Masamune
Build Item Warrior's Blessing Warrior's Blessing

Solo Lane vs Physical Notes Against Physicals I like to start Tier 2 shifter's and potions it is amazing when you need a little extra defense to sustain yourself from being poked out and killed early and is a power spike when you are above 50% health and more sustain when you are lower than that and tends to save you from ganks. Void Shield is also an awesome item for more sustain and protections but also provides 20 pen up close and 20 power so you still get alot of pen and some damage on top of it all. The rest is kinda self-explanatory. If you find yourself needing to swap something out, take out void shield if you get really far ahead and get brawler's or crusher but this is one of the best builds against physicals.

Build Item Shifter's Shield Shifter's Shield
Build Item Warrior Tabi Warrior Tabi
Build Item Transcendence Transcendence
Build Item Void Shield Void Shield
Build Item Jotunn's Wrath Jotunn's Wrath
Build Item Titan's Bane Titan's Bane

Solo Lane vs Magical Notes In my experience you do not really play against magical gods all that often in the solo lane but if you do Ancile and Runic shield are very strong defensive and offensive items. If you are playing against healing gods such as Hades, Hel, or Aphro you can wait to build Trans and build Brawler's beat stick as well as build runic shield before Ancile to try to minimize their sustain as much as possible.

Build Item Ancile Ancile
Build Item Warrior Tabi Warrior Tabi
Build Item Transcendence Transcendence
Build Item Runic Shield Runic Shield
Build Item Jotunn's Wrath Jotunn's Wrath
Build Item Titan's Bane Titan's Bane

Alt Options for solo lane Notes I covered both of these options before but they are both amazing for utility.

Build Item Warrior's Blessing Warrior's Blessing
Build Item Blackthorn Hammer Blackthorn Hammer
Build Item Masamune Masamune
Build Item The Crusher The Crusher
Build Item Heartseeker Heartseeker
Build Item Brawler's Beat Stick Brawler's Beat Stick

Jungle / 2nd Jungle (Support) Notes Jungle is not that great of a position for Loki since his early game clear of camps is not impressive especially in comparison to other popular junglers. He cannot gank very well either until around level 5. Be very careful with this pick as well because you cannot do too much early game and are vulnerable.

Build Item Hydra's Lament Hydra's Lament
Build Item Warrior Tabi Warrior Tabi
Build Item Heartseeker Heartseeker
Build Item The Crusher The Crusher
Build Item Jotunn's Wrath Jotunn's Wrath
Build Item Brawler's Beat Stick Brawler's Beat Stick

Relics Notes Teleport - is my favorite relic for ADC and Solo because you can back once every 200 seconds or die then get back to wave without missing any farm. When upgraded, if you place your wards right throughout late game then you can get behind the enemy team and pick off their Mid or Adc.

Frenzy - I like this item if you want to get the game over with as quick as possible. You want to use this item when you go to solo Gold Fury mid to late game and use it to take Towers Pheonixes as well as Fire giants and Pyros with your team.

Heavenly Wings - This item isn't in the solo lane. It is really useful against Chaac's slows and Horrific Emblems early game if you do not want to go for Teleport for your First Relic.

Build Item Teleport Glyph Teleport Glyph
Build Item Purification Beads Purification Beads
Build Item Aegis Amulet Aegis Amulet
Build Item Belt of Frenzy Belt of Frenzy

Introduction

Hello! Please pardon my poor layout, this is my first guide on Smitefire. That being said I primarily play on Xbox one, my gamertag is Vrixium. I enjoy playing Loki and Ullr and have 6 Stars on Loki and 4 on Ullr. Message me if you have any questions about this guide or comments on what you think would be better and why and I'll update the guide. Thank you and good luck, have fun!
If you are at all curious as to what my Loki looks like at the moment, feel free to look up my profile on smiteguru just make sure it is set to xbox when you search.

ADC Utility Options

Blackthorne Hammer- This item is extremely strong in matchups where you are going to lose early game pretty hard. Although I do not use this combination much I like to pair it with a Warriors Blessing for the extra sustain and protections you are going to need if you are going to get poked out.

If you find yourself needing to swap something out, take out void shield if you get really far ahead and get brawler's or crusher, Heartseeker is great for burst in those cases where you are really far ahead, but this is one of the best builds against physicals.

Solo Lane vs Magical

In my experience you do not really play against magical gods all that often in the solo lane but if you do Ancile and Runic shield are very strong defensive and offensive items. If you are playing against healing gods such as Hades, Hel, or Aphro you can wait to build Trans and build Brawler's beat stick as well as build runic shield before Ancile to try to minimize their sustain as much as possible. I personally find myself building both of these to in the attempt to reduce my opposing solo laner's ability to fight me to a minimum, but if you feel uncomfortable with an aura debuff item, it isn't bad to swap out runic shield for another offensive pen item, if so, be careful and keep an eye on how much damage the solo laner does to you and pay closer attention to how much damage you can do.

Jungle / 2nd Jungle (Support)

Jungle is not that great of a position for Loki since his early game clear of camps is not impressive especially in comparison to other popular junglers. He cannot gank very well either until around level 5. Be very careful with this pick as well because you cannot do too much early game and are vulnerable. If I were to play this position with Loki I believe BestMinionEver explained a different leveling strategy that is far better than that of which I came up with:

Btw I think maxing Vanish over Assassinate is better than prioritising Assassinate.

Assassinate is +75 damage on a 90-81-72-63-54 seconds cooldown (depending on CDR 10%-20%-30%-40%).
Vanish is +60 damage on a 15-13,5-12-10,5-9 seconds cooldown.

Vanish is DoT damage though witch of course is mitigated heavily by protections compared to just instant damage (the protections is applied 4 times instead of 1 in this case). But if you go for the squishy targets and build some early penetration it will end up dealing a lot more damage in my experience, at times you will even get off two uses of Vanish during one fight. Then it basically ends up being +120 damage per level :p
I prefer to max it over Assassinate at least, but I only play Loki jungle.

I am not 100% about how the protections are applied, however, the idea of getting more damage on an ability with a lot shorter cooldown is very good and I never thought about that.

Relics

Beads / Aegis / Shell - All of these relics are always safe picks. CC immunity is always good. Invulnerability is good against other high burst gods or clutch escapes. Shell is good for supporting your team in winning team fights.

Teleport - is my favorite relic for ADC and Solo because you can back once every 200 seconds or die then get back to wave without missing any farm.

Heavenly Wings - This item is mainly for use in the solo lane. It is really useful against Chaac's slows and Horrific Emblems early game if you do not want to go for Teleport for your First Relic.

Other than that I agree with the abilities ;)

Yo dude, that's actually not how mitigations work. They'll be the same whether it's burst or ticking damage.

Example: Say the enemy mitigates 20% damage. Skill #1 deals 100 burst damage. Skill # 2 deals 20 damage 5 times. 100 * 0.8 = 80 damage. 20 * 0.8 * 5 = 80 damage.

The main points to consider are usage of both Assassinate and Vanish. Yes, each level up of the ult adds a bit more damage (both base and scaling). But it also has a significantly longer CD.

For Vanish, having the opportunity to use it multiple times in the time it would take for the ult to come off CD is definitely something to consider. Given that it's also your normal escape, I think using it often depends on the enemy team not being aware enough, staying far apart (allowing you more safety in killing solo targets and not dying from having your escape gone), etc.

Situationally I can agree with prioritizing either.

Actually not sure what I was thinking when I wrote that, I was pretty drunk at the time so I seriously hope I was thinking about Warrior's Blessing and just forgot to point that out. It does seem like my brain malfunctioned though in the way I wrote it..

No, You are absolutely right on this one. I haven't jungled much with Loki as much as I would like to because it is one of the most popular roles and I solo que, but I definitely think that you are right on this one, in the jungle, you want high damage, lower cooldowns, you could also put 1 level into your ult and max your vanish in the ADC lane as well just to push more damage over time or just pop peoples' aegis constantly. But there are disadvantages as well too, putting levels into vanish make the ability rather expensive, so if you don't build trans and or hydras early enough, then I think you would have to retreat and or recall alot more often than you would want. But if you are skilled enough at maintaining your mana consumption and using abilities at the optimal times then this is the best route. There is actually another build and leveling route that I saw ProfessorLoki use, and even though he isn't the best smite player, he knows how to play Loki very well, even he isn't the most flexible player, which is to only put 1 point into decoy and continue the rest of the game maxing your 3, 1, and ult. The build is wacky as well but I am hesitant to post it because it isn't easy to use and if you are new or just not comfortable with Loki then it will be a train wreck in my opinion.

Yeah that is a SUPER aggressive build, I do it from time to time when I jungle in low elo games (and for arena, clash etc.). But you just have to gank 24/7 if you do and just end up falling behind if the enemy jungler knows how to farm. Some junglers just panic if you gank 24/7 though and end up not farming and rotating to late and not getting kills and suddenly they are bot farm, bot damage and bot exp. Those games are perfect for that build lol

But getting Decoy to level 4 is just so good for proxy-farming though. Just go do enemy back camps throw a decoy between the towers on the way back. Yes it is scumbaggy to steal farm. But OH MY GOD does it feel good to be multiple levels ahead of the enemy jungler.

Won't be a bit bad to have Void Shield or Runic Shield since it will make the enemy to be aware that you are near during Vanish due to the debuff icon of the shields?

You bring up a good point and it is not one that I have covered. These are items that I have found that match my playstyle with Loki and when it comes to the solo lane, killing someone in one combo shouldn't occur if your opposing solo laner is... Well, playing just about anything. From my experience playing If you committ to damage, you end up getting killed before the opponent is below 50% because of the high base damage warriors tend to have, But tank loki doesn't perform well either. I believe that Void Shield is great for defense and offense as it allows you to push some more damage through and sustain more. Runic shield is good because its more of a tempo play against magicals. Outside of boots, and void stone I do not find myself against any more power items so runic shield reduces their damage on not just you, but the wave and your teammates as well. To address awareness and especially in high tiers, people just listen for you when you vanish. Its loud enough to be heard from a decent distance and footsteps are also a huge indicator as well. So I never found myself relying on my opponent being unaware.

Valid points definitely, but still think it gives you a disadvantage when you get to lategame and whenever you rotate for fights.

I do love the items though.
Maybe try Ancile and Gladiator's Shield (noted you won't get much out of the passive)?

Indeed, I find it okay in the early game as a solo to have debuff items but the problem is later, when you need to gank the other lanes and help in team fights.

Yes it is definitely not a good idea to go debuff items on Loki.
Not everyone will notice it though, so in low level games it will probably work.
