Introduction

Loki plays like a true assassin, in quickly to kill your target and out to kill another day. He has the tools to be an annoying menace that always squirms his way out of danger and pressure the enemy under tower all game. Loki can easily carry a game as long as you are equal or ahead of the enemy in gold and levels.

Use 1 into 4 into normal basic attack then after the basic attack lands immediately use 3 and basic attack until the target is dead. Usually the second basic will kill once you have Hydra's Lament and don't forget that your 1 applies a bleed.

Items

Standard Build

Loki can easily make do with a cheap build. Transcendence gives good power early and builds stacks for the late game. Stacking quickly is nice but if you have a mage or hunter building stacks on your team you can build yours from God kills fast enough. Warrior Tabi is standard power and move speed boots. I usually build boot after Trans. to start stacking but can be built before for more evasion and chasing ability. Hydra's is a must on Loki. The burst damage from Hydra's passive and Loki's 3 is very high and allows you start killing squishy targets with Loki Bread and Butter Combo. After Hydra's you should be killing any god that doesn't build defense or health in one rotation of the Bread and Butter Combo. Since you are now destroying squishies they usually start camping out in tower. Bloodforge allows you to start ulting under tower for kills and survive attacks from the other enemies. Jotunn's gives Loki ~45 power with the the mana added, maxes your cooldown percentage and gives you some pen. Can be built before Bloodforge if the enemy is tanky. Titan's Bane is usually the goto last item to help kill tanks when the damage dealers are dead. Can be built right after hydra's if the enemy is loading up on protections.

Situational Items

Breastplate of Valor can be swapped in for Jotunn's if going against heavy Physical damage comps and Gengi's for heavy Magical damage comps. If you're feeling luck you can change Titan's for Deathbringer. Brawler's Beatstick is used for anti heal. HeartSeeker is great for extra move speed and passive damage.

Pros / Cons

Pros

Very High Single Target Damage
Stealthy Escapes
Cheap Build
Good Wave Clear and Tower Pushing Ability
Great Initiator

Cons
Struggles Badly From Behind
Squishy and Easily CC'd
Relies On Abilities and CD
No Sustain
Has Less Impact Against Tanky Teams

Build looks ok. I'd get the Jotunn's Wrath] before the Bloodforge. Not sure about that Deathbringer though.

As someone who plays a good bit of Loki in Joust and Ranked Joust I have to say that I disagree with a lot of this. Trans Loki can be OP but trying to stack it early enough to matter is a hassle and typically stops or stalls your mage from stacking which slows both of you.

I also have to agree with Kriega1 no The Crusher? Really powerful for Loki, especially in Joust. Bloodforge is taken to early if you're taking it at all. I'm personally against LS on Loki as it rarely matters and the shield from BF is negligible in terms of life saving for Loki anyways, More of an ADC LS. Titan's Bane last would be situational imo and i'm also really curious as to how Breastplate of Valor and Genji's Guard are situational on Loki and what situation they would be favored over more Power/Pen, Defenses are great but your ult would probably be a bit underwhelming while using either.

I do agree with your start if you are going Transcendence, The pots provide enough lane sustain to reach your ult before 1st back and can allow an early advantage as long as you don't get bullied out of the lane super early. Securing both camps and the xp camp can make a quick lvl 5 and the pots help you keep up so I get it, I do that to.

I use Bloodforge for the 75 power and Passive. I'm usually level 10+ by the time I get it so the 300 shield helps against tower shots. Plus the 10% helps for evasion and chase. I personally have not had to build Defense but sometimes run in to 3 mages or 3 Physical gods so protections might do well in those situations. Also in solo joust you would most likely build on defense item.

Why Bloodforge so early? Also no The Crusher as an option? Lastly, you won't need Titan's Bane in every single game.

Another thing, why no Tier 2 Trans start? Or is it because you feel you need the potions to avoid being pressured too easily? Edit: please DO NOT buy Deathbringer on Loki. Ever.

I like Bloodforge for diving under tower for kills. I'm usually level 10+ by the time I get it so the 300 shield helps against tower shots. I added The Crusher thank you. I build titan's bane because if they have 3 zero defense targets then the game is over before I finish the build but if they have a tank I can kill them.
Early game for Loki isn't bad but it takes a bit for him to come online and start oneshotting so I like the sustain from the potions. DB is more of a for fun Item but definitely be used to great effect against a 3 squishy comp.

" DB is more of a for fun Item but definitely be used to great effect against a 3 squishy comp." - even against squishies, you would get more damage by simply building power/penetration items (heartseeker, crusher, brawlers etc...). If there is one assassin you do not build crit on, it's Loki.
