Introduction

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get away from the spirit ball behind him...

Playing Isis

Isis, in my opinion, is easily Top 3 in Mid-Laners! She has some pretty nasty wave clear, stun is just on point, and Circle of Protection is just a ridiculously overpowered ultimate at max charge! Not to even mention her kit has a stun, slow, and silence!
In short, Isis is just, all around, an amazing goddess! If you can learn timing, when to rotate, and properly learn to gank and focus the weak one in the group, thats just another win.

Pros / Cons

Advantages

Great sustain!
Insane burst!
Good early game poke!
Great wave clear!
Amazing combo with Spirit Ball + Wing Gust
_____________

__________
Drawbacks

Squishy
Ability Reliant
No Legitimate Escape
Circle of Protection typically doesn't get to max charge
Wing Gust isn't always the easiest to hit.

Skills

Funeral Rites

With each death that Eset witnesses, she adds a stack to her passive. Each stack adds another 2 HP5 and 2 MP5. The increase in regen is shared with allies in a radius of 30, and the death can seen in a radius of 80. The stacks reset on death! (Max stacks: 10)
DESCRIPTION
MY THOUGHTS

Wing Gust

Eset flaps her wings, getting rid of the backpedal penalty/gaining movement speed, and shoots 4 wing gust in a straight line. Throughout the move, Isis is immune to Root and Knockback.
DESCRIPTION
MY THOUGHTS

Spirit Ball

Eset shoots forth a ball on spirit energy in a straight line, and if it hits an enemy, they are stunned for 1s. At max range, the ball hits for a magical scaling of 1.5x more damage. Isis also has the ability to detonate the spirit ball early, losing the magical scaling, but the enemy will still be stunned.
DESCRIPTION
MY THOUGHTS

Dispel Magic

This ability, when hit, will slow the enemy down by 35%, Silence them, and also reduce the Magical Protections. Any ally within Eset passive Funeral Rites will gain the Magical Protections taken from the enemy for a brief amount of time.
DESCRIPTION
MY THOUGHTS

Circle of Protection

Eset plants her staff at a target location for 5s. All allies within the location receive 15% reduced damage, and for any damage dealt, the location grows. At max charge, the staff gains % of magical scaling, and explodes dealing damage to all enemies inside, and healing all allies inside as well.

Items

Starter Items
Vampiric Shroud / Soul Reliquary

I start off with this, as it gives off great sustain and magical power! Off the bat, you start off with 100 Health,75 Mana, 5 MP5, and 50 Magical Power!. This should give you enough to start off, as later on you can back for Soul Trap and a few more health potions and wards/mana potions. Reason I say that is, once you start to get Book of Thoth online, you are already set for life on mana!

Early Game!

These are going to be your core items. You start off with Soul Reliquary so that you can build into Book of Thoth immediately. Reason being, it adds crazy amounts of power/mana to Isis. I tend to buy Book of Thoth over Warlock's Sash as I like the extra power, and I don't die very easily. However, if you think you might die a lot during the game, switch out Soul Reliquary for Uncommon Sash. They cost the same amount but you start off with less power, no extra mana, more health. After choosing which stack item you want, you need to quickly get Shoes of the Magi because you are going to need that extra movement speed! Isis doesn't have a legitimate escape, as stated before. Her escape combo is pretty much Dispel Magic = Spirit Ball = Wing Gust. Literally what you would do if you were to engage, except you back away with Wing Gust as the increase in movement speed and loss of backpedal penalty helps a lot. Also, the Penetration, Mana, and Power is very useful in the beginning of the game. Especially the Mana, as it helps out in the early phases of Book of Thoth, while you are still building up your stacks. Once you get your first 2 items, your damage will start to increase dramatically! Even more so once you get your Chronos' Pendant! This will add another 75 power, 25% CDR, and 25 MP5! This is all around one of the best items you can get for a mage! Great power/Great Cool Down/Great Mana Sustain! In my opinion, this item is a necessity for all type of magical characters who are building damage.

Late Game

This is where your damage is going to really kick in. Soul Reaver alongside Spirit Ball is just tremendous! As stated before, can practically one hit any squishy character. This paired with Gem of Isolation and Wing Gust is going to just seal a kill really quick. After you take out nearly 1,000 HP and apply a 1s stun, you use your Wing Gust, which Gem of Isolation helps out tons with being able to successfully hit each one, and they are either dead or nearly dead, unless you are playing stupid and are targeting the guardian/warrior. And Rod of Tahuti just doesn't need any explanation. It will take your magical power 0 to OVER 9,000 real quick. No, but seriously.

Situationals

These are going to be your counter items/preference items (switched out for Gem of Isolation). Say you are laning against a Hel and her healing is just killing you! Well, not literally as her main healing move doesn't do any damage.. but getting off the tangent, you are going to want to buy Divine Ruin! It is most definitely going to be a game changing item, as Hel won't be able to heal anything back really. But the thing about Situationals is that you only buy them due to the situation! Don't buy Divine Ruin going against a Janus! Spear of the Magus is another item that is going to be a preferential item. If you prefer a little move penetration than you would want to take Spear of the Magus over Gem of Isolation as it helps a lot against a tanky team comp. I would typically buy this item if the other team looked similar to this: Ymir/ Xbalanque/ Sun Wukong/ Poseidon/ Sylvanus. This would be implying Ymir jungle. Or, even if they have a normal assassin jungler and they are still running a warrior/guardian in the solo lane as well as the Duo Lane, you could buy it. But, if they run a mage/assassin in solo lane, you might as well stick to Gem of Isolation. Last but not least, Bancroft's Talon. I don't really buy Lifesteal with Eset, as if I feel like I'm going to have a hard time staying alive, I would just run Build 2. But, if you like a little sustain on the damage build, It won't any negative effects to it. It would give you more power than Gem of Isolation would and the lifesteal isn't so bad. Another item, though, is Polynomicon. It isn't on the list, but I don't tend to work in basic attacks on my combo's with Eset. However, Polynomicon is a great item if you work in basic attacks into the combo.

Actives

Actives are really just built in to help with offensive/defensive tactics. I will mainly build my actives in a defensive way, as they typically will counter whoever I am playing. Aegis Pendant is something I buy going against Nu Wa/ Poseidon. This helps out wonderfully, as they can't seal a kill with either of their ultimates. Next I will buy Greater Purification if they enemy team has an absurd amount of CC! If laning against Janus, it can be used to help get away from his Portal and save yourself from that devastating combo! The other two actives are Combat Blink and Shielded Teleport. I will buy these if there isn't any clearly obvious active that I need. Combat Blink is always useful for when it comes to being a wizard and vanishing away from the enemy team. It is also helping for chasing someone down/initiating. Teleport in and Spirit Ball immediately is never a bad choice. I typically buy Shielded Teleport rather than Teleport to Gods as it has less of a cool down, and it can be used to jump in and steal an object, if you are cool enough.

Summary

In short, Isis is a very dominant Mid-Laner if played right. That is all you need to know! Learn how to play Isis, you learn how to make some kids "Check themselves, before they wreck themselves"

Leave any comments below as to what it is that I need to add, fix, take out, anything! I'm open to suggestions, as this is literally my 2nd guide, so I don't everything! I'm still new to BBCoding, so if there is anything wrong with that, please, tell me! I want to be able to help out the Smite Community with whatever knowledge I think I have, and what better way to do it than the best way!

I like this guide a lot, but penetration isn't as optional as you make it out to be. It actually helps your dps against squishy enemies a ton as well, you'll be dealing significantly more damage with Spear of the Magus than something like Gem of Isolation or Chronos' Pendant. That being said, that's really my only criticism. +1 from me

Created an account so I could comment on these builds. I've been mid-laning with Isis for the past few days and was looking for some tips to help me better use her. I found this guide very helpful, there are so many tips that I'm going to try and see if I can improve.
