Situationals

Notes These are the items you might need to use, depending on the enemy team.

Golden Blade can be used if you're fighting into a jungler that can clear extremely fasten then you, like a Ratatoskr, and in the situation that the enemy team is invading your buffs. This item is also good because it makes Kali's push potential a real thing, which allows her to split push and push on her own. Overall situational but nice nonetheless.

Toxic Blade is amazing against healers, and you should want to get it whenever healing could be a constant nuisance.

Asi is a great item, bringing 4 stats Kali loves together. You mostly won't want to get this item, unless in match ups you're heavily loosing to an enemy team that has protections and double lifesteal in many characters.

Atalanta's Bow will give you A LOT of movement speed, attack speed and power, and is a great replacement for Hastened Katana, if you don't feel like getting it, or looking for a cheaper replacement for it if you're behind.

Ichaival is a good item against a team that relies heavily on hunters or AA in general to deal damage, and can be a good situational item.

Magi's Cloak helps Kali a lot when it comes to avoiding CC Lockdowns, and can be a valuable situational.

Notes If you get to the point of the game that you're just buying Wards and Potion of Power / Elixir of Power, you can consider selling The Crusher for a Toxic Blade, Atalanta's Bow, something along those lines.

Introduction

Intro Combos Gameplay Summary Other Guides Guide updates

Welcome to my guide for Kali, Destroyer of Demons

My name is Prism. I am a Veteran and a Guide Writer on SmiteFire, who loves playing smite!

This guide uses BBCoding from BBCoding masters like Zilby, xZeroStrike, and FemFatalis, already wanting to thank them for their kindness and their friendship.

Nevertheless, let's move on to the Destroyer herself, Kali!

Combos

Intro Combos Gameplay Summary Other Guides Guide updates

Combo #1 "To the Graveyard"
>>>>> >>>>>
This combo is one that you'll use the most. Close in to the enemy either by walking or by jumping in (if they're low) with Nimble Strike, and then use Incense for the extra damage and stun, then proceed to use Lash to guarantee the application of the lifesteal, the major instant and DoT damage. Use Destruction to either apply damage and ticking damage to attempt to finish off the enemy, or to walk away if you're unsuccesful.

Combo #2 "I'm a Hurricane!"
>>>>> >>>>> >>>>>
This combo is one that you'll use the most when trying to survive. Use your Incense to stun the enemy, if you can't guarantee the Nimble Strike jump (which you'll use to heal up). Then, proceed to use Lash to try to damage the enemy and heal up while you basic attack him, if these abilities are up. Next, either walk away if the enemy disengages, or use Destruction if they keep coming/your stun and jump aren't up, look for a direction the enemy team is not covering and proceed to use Nimble Strike to try to get away.

Summary

Intro Combos Gameplay Summary Other Guides Guide updates

This was my guide for Kali, Destroyer of Demons
Kali is, by far, one of the best assassins of this game. With tremendous 1v1 potential, Kali is a gigantic threat, from Split Pushing to annihalating the enemy team in a few seconds. If you are going againts a Kali, be on your feet. If you are Kali, prepare to slay all those who oppose you, as a true Destroyer of Demons should.

Pris, where's the discussion on abilities? The rest looks very nice, but it seems a bit thin compared to your normal stuff.

Also, skill leveling...not sure I agree. If you start 2, then get 3...I'd get 1 before putting the second into 2.

I would call Qin's more of a core item than Stone Cutting, personally. And when you do go SCS, then I think the better shoes option would probably be Ninja.

What I am used to for Kali is holding of your 2nd skill to see what you're gonna need more, your jump (early invade from enemy jungler) or your 3 (easy gank).

Hi Bran and Dev! Yes, I've decided to omit the Skills/Items part of my guides, as I hope I've explained enough in the notes to make due the items. For the Skills, I feel like is way too straight up with her abilities to even try and elaborate without feeling extremely specific.

Like Devampi said, skills really depend on your idea for level 2. I even specify on the gameplay session to try a level 2 fight, BECAUSE I decided to opt into Incense at level 2.

If you go into Ninja Tabi, you're overcapping AS, and you'll probably loose that AS should you buy a defense item or an item that doesn't contain AS (Like Bloodforge), so I decided to opt into Warrior Tabi for a better early game clear and damage potential from Lash and Basics.

About Qins and SCS, I feel like you can switch between SCS and Hastened, but SCS will make your basics and earlier teamfight potential better, but if you're ahead I would say go into Hastened. Now for Qins, I feel like getting Qins before SCS or even not getting SCS you're not optmizing Kali's potential to destroy defenses, since she applies a 36% Physical Protection reduction while also taking 30 flat Physical Protection from the enemy, making them extremely squishy against the hunter and against herself. but yeah that's that ^^

Not sure about the build order and lack of mention of Ninja Tabi. Qins is built way too late I think.

I would go something like: Ninja > Crusher > Hastened > Stone Cutting > Qins > Executioner. (Can swap Stone Cutting and Exe around)

Also you haven’t mentioned HoG anywhere, and I would add O-Bow, Titan’s Bane, and Ichaival as alternative items, as well as Magi’s Cloak.

Here's how Cherryo was building Kali in SPL:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3bpSms1yww (Game 2) (Sold Crusher late for O-Bow).

Hey Kriega!

While Ninja Tabi is a valid option, Kali's early game potential with her basic attacks aren't the best, so I decided to opt into Warrior Tabi in order to maximize her damage with Lash, both for camp clear and fight potential. I personally wouldn't get Executioner last, and wouldn't get it after Qins, and I think staggering Hastened, Exe, Stone Cutting and Qins brings out most of her damage potential while gradually increasing her movement speed, not forcing a stat before the other.

I don't like HoG and I don't feel like it's a good choice right now, but maybe my mind will change when they add back health number for jungle camps.

I don't feel like O-Bow and Titan's really have a spot in the build, but you'd have to change it's core aspect somewhat, but Ichavail is a good suggestion that I'll follow up on. Algo Magi's.
