Erlang Shen opens his third eye and analyzes the enemy's strengths and weaknesses. When activated, Erlang Shen gains additional Physical Damage and Lifesteal on each strike. He also applies a stacking debuff to enemy gods, reducing their damage dealt to all sources. Stacks last 3s.

If the buff effect has ended and the ability is on Cooldown, successful Basic Attacks reduce the Cooldown of this ability by 1s.

First off, let me just say that your jungler build is really great and worth +1 (haven't tried the solo)

I was thinking of maybe using hasten katana, golden blade, and bloodforge for him. What would be a good build ultizing all three items for him? (this is for jungler)

Don't need Golden blade on Erlang. Better to go Crusher after boots.

More specifically here, the reason you don't need Golden Blade is because ES has a basic attack hit chain that does AOE damage in a cone in front of him. This helps his camp clear. It's more important for gods like Arachne, whose general clear is fairly awful and all of her abilities only do single-target and/or DoT damage rather than burst.

In the early game, you could just use his 2 or 3 to help with clear, since they can hit multiple enemies.

Does Erlang Shen still viable as solo?
I miss those times when he was S+ almost SS after the buffs and before the passive change (or even right after the change).

Viable? Yes. A good solo? Not sure. I believe I placed him in A/A+ on the SmiteFire tierlist.

There are better picks for solo and he's a better jungler than warrior, so that's why we don't see him in solo that often.

More alternative items: Masamune, Beserker’s Shield, Warrior Tabi. Also add starter 3 which would be assassins blessing, Mace (crusher after boots), pots

Builds are fine but add more situational items like witchblade, winged blade, mantle of discord, spirit robe, urchin, frostbound etc...

I understand all your situational recommendations, except for Frostbound Hammer. Could you explain it, please?

Basically Frostbound gives Erlang extra sticking power if you don’t use the “Fatalis” part of his 3. It also makes it very hard for someone to escape you if you have the passive applied to them. The passive in combination with witchblade can also be helpful in boxing other AA-focused characters. The base stats allow you to tank a bit more damage.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat.
