Full build

Notes Bluestone Brooch its the best item for physical midlaners, nevertheless we dont really want to upgrade it until we have Titan's Bane.

Hydra's Lament its a great item for Ullr as it gives you more damage after every ability and this god its based on doing cancels, meaning throwing an auto after every ability, making this item to full performance.

Oath-Sworn Spear gives a great stat, flat penetration making this item to be perfect for early-game on ability based gods, specially Ullr as his combo its based on 3 abilities, meaning we are going to be decreasing their protections really hard.

Heartseeker as tanks in this meta are bulding a lot of hp items, this item passive will give you the possibility to blast them in seconds.

Titan's Bane its the core and power spike of the build, as this item will give you the necessary penetration to kill tanks in seconds. After building this item go look for fights as you will be dominating them.

Jotunn's Revenge helps us with the cooldowns, as one of the most important things on a midlaner is the ability to be spamming abilities every second. This item will help us with that.

The Crusher will close the build with its great stats, cooldown and a great passive that will make your abilities to one-shot any backliner.

Situational items

Notes Barbed Carver instead of Oath-Sworn Spear in case you want to add some lifesteal to your build. Moreover, his passive its similar but it isnt flat pen, its extra damage you get after each ability hit.

Tekko-Kagi instead of Jotunn's Revenge in case you want more movement speed on your build and strength, but you will be losing an important part of your cooldown as Tekko-Kagi only gives 10.

Aegis of Acceleration instead of Purification Beads in case we dont need any CC inmunity as we are facing some gods like Vulcan or Tsukuyomi

Blinking Abyss instead of Jotunn's Revenge in case we need to have a second way to scape, in this situation we will be losing a lot of cooldown but we will be much more safer.

Brawler's Beat Stick instead of Oath-Sworn Spear in case you need anti-heal.

Ullr's Skill Order Notes With Ullr the way we upgrade our abilities isnt the usual. We want to focus on upgrading mainly Bladed Arrow / Thrown Axe and Hail of Arrows / Glory Bound as they are our main damage. As you can see we just tick once Expose Weakness / Invigorate and Wield Axes / Wield Bow until we have the previous abilities maxed, because upgrading them doesnt give us anything special more than a little bit of better stats for Ullr

Introduction

Hi, my name is Ragna and I started playing Smite 1 on PC in 2021. I started playing in little community tournaments and after a lot of training and work I manage to play professional tournaments on Atlanta as the Smite Content Cup in 2024.

Now, in Smite 2 I have reached Deity every single split and I have competed in tournaments like Smite Vegas Qualifiers (ending in 5th position of EU) and right now Smite Prime, so Im always getting updated about the best metas on the game.

Apart from that I have a Twitch channel Ragna_smite where we play Smite 2 every single day and we do coaching for the subs to help them to improve on Smite 2, answering questions, talking about the game, etc.

Hope you find this guide as a good starting point for the midlane and helps you improve your Ullr skills and knowledge.

Here are my socials:

Abilities

Ullr's Abilities
Passive - Weapon Master

When you use an ability in either stance, your Cooldowns in the opposite stance are reduced by 1 second.

This passive is the engine of your kit. It encourages you to constantly switch stances and spam your abilities rather than holding onto them. By cycling through your Axe and Bow abilities efficiently, you can keep your damage output incredibly high without waiting for long cooldowns.

Ability 1 - Bladed Arrow / Thrown Axe

Axe Stance: Throws an axe that Stuns the first enemy hit.
Bow Stance: Fires a long-range arrow that passes through minions and gods.

The entire Ullr playstyle revolves around hitting the Axe Stun. If you land the Stun, you can instantly switch to Bow stance and land the Arrow for free damage. If you miss the Axe, play safe until it's back.

Ability 2 - Expose Weakness / Invigorate

Axe Stance: You gain increased Movement Speed.
Bow Stance: You gain increased Attack Speed.

These buffs persist even after you switch stances. Ideally, you want to activate the Movement Speed to close the gap or run away, and activate the Attack Speed right before you start boxing an enemy or shredding a tower.

Ability 3 - Hail of Arrows / Glory Bound

Axe Stance: A Leap that deals damage where you land.
Bow Stance: Fires a volley of arrows at a target area dealing damage.

Use the Leap primarily for engagement or escape; it can go over walls. The Bow ability is your best long-range poke tool. A pro tip: leaving the Snow Field from the Bow ability slows enemies, making it easier to land your Axe stun.

Ultimate - Wield Axes / Wield Bow

Switches between Melee (Axe) and Ranged (Bow) stances. Using this Cleanses Disarms.

You gain passive Lifesteal in Axe stance and Strength in Bow stance. Because the cooldown is almost instant (1 second), you should be weaving this into every fight to reset your passive cooldown reduction. If an enemy like Bellona disarms you, pressing this button removes the effect instantly.

Example Combos

The Full Burst: Bladed Arrow / Thrown Axe(Axe) (Stun) -> Wield Axes / Wield Bow (Switch) -> Hail of Arrows / Glory Bound (bow) -> Bladed Arrow / Thrown Axe(bow) -> Expose Weakness / Invigorate(bow) -> Basic Attacks

The Scape Combo: Expose Weakness / Invigorate (axe for movement speed) -> Hail of Arrows / Glory Bound (axe for jump) -> Hail of Arrows / Glory Bound (bow to create the slow area)

How to play Ullr

Gameplay Start / Early Game

  • Start by clearing the first wave using Bladed Arrow / Thrown Axe in Bow stance. Aim it to hit the entire line of minions. If the enemy stands in the wave, punish them with the same arrow.

  • Move to side camps with your jungler. Use Bladed Arrow / Thrown Axe to stun the large camp monster, preventing it from damaging you, then switch to Bow stance to finish it off with Basic Attacks.

  • Return to lane and focus on aggressive poke. Ullr has some of the highest kill pressure at level 2. If you land a Bladed Arrow / Thrown Axe stun, immediately switch stances and fire Bladed Arrow / Thrown Axe. This chunk of damage often forces the enemy to use their potions or back to base.

  • Be mindful of your Mana. Because Ullr spams abilities to utilize his passive, he runs out of mana very fast. Do not use Expose Weakness / Invigorate just to clear wave; save them for fighting gods or rotating.

  • Save Bladed Arrow / Thrown Axe] (Axe Leap) for escaping. Do not jump aggressively onto an enemy unless you are 100% sure you will kill them, as you have no other way out if the enemy jungler shows up.

Mid Game:
  • You enter your prime in the mid-game once you have items like Oath-Sworn Spear or Heartseeker online. Your ability combo now deals enough damage to 100-0 a squishy target if they don't have Beads.

  • Roam aggressively. Use Invigorate in Axe stance to rotate faster than the enemy. Show up in some of the side-lanes, land a stun, and secure a kill before returning to your lane.

  • Master "The Combo." If you catch an enemy out of position, repeat always the combo we talked about in the last section called "The Full Burst" Combo.

  • Use Hail of Arrows / Glory Bound to hop over walls to steal enemy jungle camps. Ullr is excellent at invading because he can clear a camp instantly with his combo and leap back over the wall to safety.

Late Game:
  • In the late game, Ullr transitions from an ability caster to a hybrid Auto-Attacker. Your abilities still hurt, but your Basic Attacks with the Expose Weakness buff will shred tanks and towers alike.

  • Your primary goals in teamfights are:
  • Do not leap into the backline. Unlike the mid-game, leaping onto a team in the late game usually means death. Keep Hail of Arrows / Glory Bound to reposition away from Assassins.

  • During Fire Giant sieges, you are a primary damage dealer. Stay in Bow Stance to maximize your DPS. If an enemy tries to steal, switch to Axe stance to stun them, effectively zoning them out of the pit.

  • When attacking Phoenixes, activate Expose Weakness / Invigorate to gain a massive Attack Speed steroid. You can destroy a structure in seconds, often ignoring the enemy defenders entirely.

  • If an Assassin like Fenrir or Loki jumps on you, do not panic. Switch to Axe stance immediately. You gain passive Lifesteal and can Stun them in the face with Bladed Arrow / Thrown Axe, turning the fight in your favor instantly.

How to ward as a midlaner

Early/Mid Game

Here you can see the best spots to ward as a Midlaner.

These wards will help you to be safe during the first instances of the game, giving you the information about if your getting ganked from the solo or duo side.

Very Passive Situation

These wards will help you recover if you come from a bad spot i which maybe you are getting ganked a lot or invaded

Late Game

These wards are use to help your team on teamfight situations or fire gigant pulls, there are a lot of possibilities take those ones who you consider that suits the best to your game situation.

Siege / Defense Phoenix

For this situation there are only two main spots to have a ward, as you can see them rotating from one lane to the others, maybe you could even put one at lane to see if minions are approaching the phoenix but it isn't that important as knowing which lane they are going to siege.

As with that information you could be able to be on the right position before your enemies giving you a great advantage for the teamfight.

Regardless of the role, wards are the most important consumable you can buy, so don't forget to buy two wards after each back!
