Introduction

Hello people of Smitefire! I am Katsaurous and this is my Bruiser Odin guide. The guide will be a work in progress because new ideas can show up while I play, and I have to work on videos. This is my first guide on this site and game.

Odin is easily one of the best gods in the game right now; his kit allows him to either be a ganker or a pusher. My preferred playstyle for Odin is to run a kill lane and dominate that lane; then roam the map ganking as much as possible. He is also a viable team pusher because he can buff his team with attack speed or melt towers down by himself. Any suggestions are welcomed; credit will be given where it is due.

Skills

Birds of Wisdom
Birds of Wisdom
Key Bind: Passive

Odin's ravens scout an increased radius around himself, doubling his minimap vision radius and gaining visibility of enemies within that radius.

(Useful for counter-jungling)
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Lunge
Key Bind: 1

Odin Lunges to his target location, doing 140 / 180 / 220 / 260 / 300 (+40% of your physical power) physical to all nearby enemies. I max this second because it will decrease it's cooldown wich helps you initiating end escaping more often.

Cost: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 mana.

Cooldown: 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 s.

(Great for escapes / ganks; and if you are building as a ganker this will deal a lot of burst damage with your third spell)
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Odin's Shout
Key Bind: 2

Odin gives a commanding roar, rallying his allies. Odin and his allies gain an attack speed buff of 15 / 25 / 35 / 45 / 55% for 7 s.

Cost 60 mana.

Cooldown: 20 / 19 / 18 / 17 / 16 s.

(Great for pushing or for fighting in your ult)
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Gungnir's Might
Key Bind: 3

This power, while used passively, provides 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 protection from physical attacks and 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 HP5. Upon activation of this power, he does a speeding melee attack that does 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 (+100% of your physical power) physical damage and slows all enemies around him by 30% for 2 seconds, but he loses the passive bonus while on cooldown.

Cost: 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 mana.

Cooldown 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 s.

(Great lane presence because of this, and allows you to catch up to opponents who are just out of reach of an auto attack)
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Ring of Spears
Key Bind: 4

Odin summons a wall of spears, blocking all normal movement. Odin gains +60 protection, +35 / 55 / 75 / 95 / 115 physical power and immunity to stun/fear/silence/root while inside the ring. Pressing the button again will bring down the ring.

Cost: 100 mana.

Cooldown: 75 s.

(This makes you such a dominant force; the stats given is around 6000 gold not even counting the immunity. Use this during team-fights for either trapping enemies or for increasing your damage; very useful for ganks and being dived also.)

Items

Pusher:

Warrior Tabi - Allows you to dominate your lane with great damage.

Reinforced Boots - Buy this instead of Warrior Tabi if you are against a heavy magical damage team.

Healing Potion - I buy 3 of these because you can will be able to sit in the lane and take harassment.

Frostbound Hammer - Amazing item for most melee gods; because your E doesn't last long it is worth it to pick this up to keep an enemy in attack distance.

Soul Eater - Gives you tankiness and life steal, and is also a good item to support your allies. Make sure that no one else is building this.

Girdle of Might - I pick this active up early because this and your ultimate will dominate a team fight.

Qin's Blades - Great for pushing and for in teamfights.

Sprint - Great for chasing, escaping, and positioning an ult.

Heavy Physical:

Witch Stone - Variety of stats that are useful on Odin; the debuff is extremely useful in teamfights.

Voidblade - Increases your damage output as-well as your protection.

Heavenly Agility - I chose this as your last active because it lets your teammates keep up with you in a chase or an escape.

Heavy Magical:

Stone of Gaia - Heavy magic protection as-well as a lot of regeneration.

The Executioner - More damage output for you and your team. You can swap this item for something to health if you need to be tankier.

Aegis Amulet - I've had a lot of close calls that went in my favor because of this item. Enemy Ra preparing to ult you? pop Aegis. Enemy Ao Kuang ult incoming? pop Aegis.

Ganking:

Girdle of Might - I pick this active up early because your ganks will be insanely strong and quick.

Titan's Bane - High physical Pen allowing you to bypass armor outside of your ultimate.

Heavy Magical:

Deathbringer - High damage and when you crit your enemies will feel the pain.

Pros / Cons

Pros
[*] Slow that allows you to catch up to enemis
[*] Powerful team fight ult
[*] Able to play passively or aggressively in lane
[*] Great pusher and ganker

Cons
[*] Melee
[*] Must use his escape to deal burst damage
[*] Missing an ult can lose you a fight
[*] Anyone with a leap can escape your ult

Team Fights

This section will be short as there is not much to talk about. Odin's job is to initiate, communicate with your team to make sure everyone knows when to go in. You can either sprint or Lunge into the enemy, but make sure you are in position to use Ring of Spears. You will want to focus on one enemy and attempt to burst him down with your Gungnir's Might and auto attacks before your ult ends. If your team has a lot of attackers wait to use Odin's Shout until you are close to them. If you are winning use Heavenly Agility when they begin to run as your team will be able to clean up the few remaining.
