Hou Yi fires a powerful shot that can ricochet off of walls. After firing, if this arrow bounces off of a wall it will travel 70 units from that point and gain +40% bonus damage to gods per bounce up to a maximum of 2 bounces. This arrow will stun if the target has Mark of the Golden Crow.

Hou Yi marks an enemy with Mark of the Golden Crow. Marked enemies take extra damage for every 10% of their missing health from Hou Yi's abilities and basic attacks. Also, marked enemies, including stealthed gods, are visible to Hou Yi on the minimap. The mark lasts for 10s.

Hou Yi shoots nine arrows into the sky, striking one sun with each arrow. The nine suns come crashing down one by one, slowing and dealing damage in a target area over time. A target with Mark of the Golden Crow will have their movement speed slowed by an additional 20%.

A very noob friendly guide to building Hou Yi!

It's a pretty straight forward build and i'm only doing this to help a beginner friend.
This build is very good on most hunters too!

Build order needs to be changed. This build can work but Hou Yi is better with a basic attack focused build even though he is a hybrid, and it's unlikely you're always hitting ricochets.

So I would change it to (Based on your build): Trans, Warrior Tabi, Crusher, Executioner, Qin's Sais and then Titan's Bane. There is no point building titan's bane straight after executioner without qin's sais first.

Also the Titan's Bane in this build is optional as you already have executioner, meaning you can swap it for Bloodforge.

What I actually recommend: Devourer's Gauntlet, Ninja Tabi, The Executioner, Qin's Sais, Titan's Bane, Odysseus' Bow. (can replace titan's Bane for Bloodforge if you want more lifesteal.)

Alternatively (Crit): Devourer's Gauntlet, Ninja Tabi, Poisoned Star, The Executioner, Deathbringer, Wind Demon. (You can swap wind demon in this build for Rage, but in that case get Rage third item instead and Poisoned Star last item instead.)

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat.
