Intro - Introdução

[EN]
Briefly the mechanics of this build emphasizes the use(or abuse) of Ares Ultimate skill. This build will max your CDR. You'll be able to Ult faster and create great killing opportunities to your teammates. Basically you'll break down the enemy team (even if they buy purification relic). But, its important to say that this build require fellowship and TEAMWORK! Warn whenever your ULT is ready, call a "group up!" and say "surprise motherf..." to your enemies!

Post Scriptum: "Alii bella timent, ego bella gero!" is Latin, and means "The others fear war, I create (or generate) war!"

[PT-BR]

Post Scriptum: "Alii bella timent, ego bella gero!" é Latim e significa "Os outros temem a guerra, eu crio a guerra!" (Foda né não?)

Hey RsngX,

Ask, and you shall receive...my long-winded comments.
  • Just clarifying here...your first 3 items are meant to be those 3 core items? And then you finish up either with the Support or Bruiser combos?

  • With regard to the core, here's what I'd say...as an ult-bot, I feel it's really important to get at least SOME health, as he can be focused during the ult process...he needs to stay alive, and sure, natural reaction would be to turn and run, but if the enemy team knows what they're doing, they may look to burst you down before it completes. As such, although I get your point of getting CDR as quickly as possible, I think one item that adds health, perhaps immediately after boots, would help.

  • As a slight alternative, you might even consider an early Sands of Time to get your CDR to 20% between it and Shoes of Focus. That 20% really early is still going to be very nice for quite a while. This allows you to get that other protection + health item... Sovereignty or Heartward Amulet (depending on team comp) would be a good choice there.

  • Unless another magical teammate gets Spear of the Magus, I would consider that basically core for him if you're looking to output damage as well...rather than putting it with core, though, I'd suggest a separate grouping called "penetration" or something, and putting both Void Stone and Spear of the Magus there as the options.

  • I probably would not consider building Rod of Tahuti on him...his base damage is so high, the pen is way more important. Also, his Searing Flesh has additional damage that's similar to Qin's Sais (and independent of your power). I think other protection items would be better on him...but that's me.
So, might I suggest, at least as an option, an alternative to this build structure?

Perhaps in this order:
Thoughts?

Thank you Bran! Your opinion is sharp as always. I was writing a huge comment but I lost it :(
I'm at work now ( or suppose to be :D ), so i'll be short.

I loved the tip of Sands of Time, it really fits on my build!

I never thought before in build health instead of protections. I'm a casual player, most of enemies I face on arena try to flee when I ult in front of them. But, thanks for the Tip! I'll heavily consider your opinion.

The tip regarding spear of teh magus/rod of tahuti/void stone opened my eyes to a little problem I experienced. Rod is expensive to build when you are just a Guardian (even if you are a bruiser one). When I manage to finish the Rod the match is near the end. The combo void stone + spear of the magus is cheap and provides a better way to damage my enemies before the match ends =).

Thank you for sharing your useful opinion!

I'm a casual player too =)

Glad you liked the Sands suggestion...for the price, you can't beat it for extra CDR, and in an arena setting, you're sort of playing against the clock, so build cost efficiency is absolutely a thing...as you recognized with your comment on the high price of Rod of Tahuti. (Granted, I didn't start thinking of Sands outside of Conquest until Duotem made me think twice, hahaha)

And just speaking about the ult...his base CD is 100 seconds...by the time you finish Sands and Focus, it's down to 80 seconds, which already beats out an upgraded Blink Rune (90 seconds). Although you'll find times you can get your ult off on multiple enemies just based on vicinity during a regular fight, that Blink is really what allows you to maximize opportunity for enemies pulled. So personally, past 20% CDR, everything else to me seems like luxury but not quite as essential.

Would love to hear how it works for you!
