Intro

Hey everyone, this is my first guide here on Smitefire. I'm a LoL player, but this game is awesome. I didn't find a build/guide on here for Zeus, so I decided I would be the first to do so. I started playing smite about a month ago, and since then, Zeus was my first buy. I have been playing him quite a bit, I edited just on 9/17/12 the items, to what i thought was best. Enjoy!

Zeus is a ranged caster, with a TON of power. He builds of stacks of lightning with his AA and abilites, and you can use your e to detonate those lightning charges. Let's just say you can deal a lot of dmg.

Items

Look, I'm really not going to tell you EXACTLY how to build, but we really need to focus on the core of the set. If you really need some other items that you feel would be good, go right ahead. Your builds should not be the same every game, but this is here to give you a guideline of what you need.

Core Items

Boots of the Magi Standard mage boots, max these early

Warlock's Sash

Warlock's Sash HP,MP,magic power, and it has a stack. Very nice.

Polynomicon Standard stuff, except the passive it gives. What it does is, you have a chance to proc you AA for 100% of your magic power in addition to the physical power you already have. This deals MASSIVE amounts of dmg at high lvls.

Rod of Tahuti Very standard item that you will see on all mages. Get it.

Abilities

Meditation

Meditation It is guaranteed that you will need this. Not as much in Late game though. If you want to switch something else out for this late game, be my guest. It still comes in handy.

Creeping Curse Now, there might be some controversy over this item. What this item does is it synergizes with your Ultimate VERY WELL. You might think, but it's only got a 35ft range on it. Thats ok. That is enough distance to put you in AA range. Use creeping curse when you put our your Ult. They will be destroyed. get this once you finish up with the items on your first back.

Purification Beads This ability is especially helpful in the fact that it gives you a free remove of cc and immunity for 2 seconds! I would highly recommend, as we don't have any reducing cc on the build.

Last 2 Item Choices

These are the final 2 items. Now that we have the core build, We can pick and choose these items according to our needs.

Magical Power Items

Chronos' Pendant Cooldown reduction really comes in handy sometimes, It is a very nice item to get

Rod of Will Seriously, this item can SAVE YOUR LIFE. The decrease of crowd control effects is GODLIKE. Since there is no other items within this build that reduce cc, we NEED this. That is unless you already have the reduced cc effects.

Void Stone The magic Penetration is very nice against those nasty Magic Protection
building guys. This really comes in handy.

Doom Orb Doing amazing in your game? Get this item, it will drastically improve your score more than it already is NOTE: DO NOT GET THIS IF YOU DIE A LOT. YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Gem of Isolation Now this is another one of those items that has an amazing slow. If you feel like creeping curse isn't enough Get this.

Defense Items

Midgardian Mail Team putting out too much raw Physical Power? Grab this, gives you defense, and a godlike slow.

Breastplate of Valor Need Phys Protect? Need CDR? Need more mana? This item has it all.

Magi's Blessing

Magi's Blessing Too many Magic Power ability users? Get this for a shield blocking a spell. I would actaully highly recommend this if you are getting destroyed by a caster mage.

Now I'm really not going to tell you exactly in what order to max these items, just make adjustments and find out what you really need next.

Skill Order: The controversy

Lets jump right into the controversy of what to max first. I'm going to put the skills in order of what to max first, down to last at the bottom of the chapter. Lets begin.

Lightning Storm Obviously, since this is your ultimate, you max it first. No problems there.

Detonate Charge Now this is where the arguments arise. I honestly feed like, besides your ultimate, you NEED TO MAX this first. I cannot stress how important this is. You are going to be AA'ing quite a bit, right? Good. Detonate those charges Whenever you feel like it for a nice chunk of HP.

Chain Lightning This does quite a bit of damage, and I can see why you would want to max this first, but max it next

Aegis Shield

Aegis Shield Finally, max this last, get an early point for fun, but wait on it till later.

The Game

Early Game

I really think you know mostly what to do. Farm, harass when the opportunity arises, watch for ganks, that sort of stuff. Make sure you are communicating, and get those wards, they save lives.

Mid-Late Game

Keep farming. Notice I started this Mid-Late game with farming those creeps. You need them and it is very important. Now, at this point of the game, One of the teams should start to make progress on winning. Be especially careful not to get jumped on from behind. You should probably take the mp5 buff from the jungle. It helps quite a bit. By late game you should be a powerhouse, able to take quite a bit of damage, and deal a ton as well.

In Conclusion.....

I guess that's everything for this guide! Leave a comment and a rating AFTER you try the build out. Thanks again. Also, don't troll downvote. I will murder you in your grave. Do I sound the least bit jokeful? Nope. I will.

One last note, be sure to spread the word about how awesome this guide is!!!!!

Quoted:
Don't agree with getting Warlock's Sash so late. Typically the majority of the time you are killing creep is early/mid game which is where you will be able to get the max stacks count fast. Sometimes games do not even go to max lvl 5th item.

Also don't understand the Creeping Curse. Is it suppose to be a synergy for your Void Stone? Even if it does synergy well i do not agree with getting it that early. Typically after I can get tier 3 boots even before lvl 5 meaning that you couldn't even use it to keep people in your utl. Would recommend either getting Meditation or getting items faster.

No vote either way.

Fixed Some stuff, added some other stuff. Going through right now adding and editing.
