A lil somethin' about me and this guide ^^

HELLO GUYS!

So you may or may not have seen me pop up around this site now and again, trying to be helpful and a part positive part of the awesome SMITEFIRE community!

So I used to make loooooads of guides with my most successful one being my Mighty Myolnir Thor guide c:

However, I drifted out of Smite for about a year after I stopped making videos on my YouTube channel (oh yeah I make Smite videos btw) but then I really missed it :( BUT now I'm back baby yeahhhh!

I'm making videos again AND more importantly, I'm making guides again! Basically I like to have fun on SMITE, trying out new stuff and if that stuff works then I will let you guys know!

PS- If you subscribe to my YouTube channel ill give you a cookie c;

When there's a con, there's a pro

Pros

+ Surprisingly good poke
+ Mid harpy camp dominance
+ 1v1 Beast
+ UNDERESTIMATED
So yeah im going to put this out there, Bastet mid isn't the mooooost reliable thing going, but you know what, it's fun, and sometimes surprisingly good! With how important the mid harpy camps are right now, having Bastet as your mid laner can come quite handy! Pounce over the wall, do your stuff, then Pounce back into lane! Also your Pounce Razor Whip poke combo kicks ***.

Cons

declaw
- Can be quishy as FUQ
- Minions will hurt you
- Forced to play aggressively
- Escape used to clear waves
Okay so yeah, its not the best. You will be very squishy and this will become very apparent when poking the enemy at melee range, those minions will slap you in the back with a **** tonne of arrows... IF you aren't careful. Beings as your clear isn't that amazing either, you will be forced to poke the enemy with your early damage rather than sitting back and farming, its not one of those lanes.

Some people learn better by watching

open wound

(^o^) Hey look! Its my video! (^o^)
just sitting there, being all video like

+ It should help you if you're struggling with laning phase! The trick is to try and poke the down as quick as possible, REEEEALLY trying to avoid taking too much minion damage! +

+ I hope you like it! +
open wound

It's not all just mouse click to win

Open Wound Declaw Cat Call

Open WoundOpen Wound
When Bastet hits an enemy with Pounce, Razor Whip or Declaw, she wounds the target for 3s. If the target has a wound, those abilities deal 15% more damage and remove the wound instead.

Pounce
Bastet pounces to her target location, dealing 80/145/210/275/340 (+100% of your physical power) damage to all enemies within a 20 ft radius. For 4 seconds after pouncing, you can press the button again to pounce back to your initial location, even while under crowd control. Bastet also moves 25% faster while in the return pounce state.

Tips and Tricks
  • Dont underestimate the damage on this when maxed, use it for poke and wave clearance.
  • This Ability is also great to quickly access the mid harpy camps, try and secure as many as you can.
  • After using this for poke, make sure to activate it soon as possible to get you out of minion damage range, they will hurt you.
  • Also, keep in mind that you have 4 seconds after pouncing, to use it again, otherwise you'll left wherever you decided to go HAM.

Razor Whip
Bastet swipes at her enemies, causing them to bleed for 30/50/70/90/110 (+25% of your physical power) damage every second for 4s.
Tips and Tricks
  • Not much to be said here, max it second, use for general wave clear and in combination with Pounce for ultimate pokeage.
  • Use on the mid harpies. If the enemy jungler is taking it, jump over, land your Razor Whip and then jump out, the DoT may secure the camp.

DeclawDeclaw
Bastet throws her dagger, which detonates on her target dealing 70/120/170/220/270 (+100% of your physical power) damage and slowing the enemies in the area by 30% for 2s.
Tips and Tricks
  • A good poke ability for when you don't want or cant jump in.
  • The best thing about this ability is the straight 30% slow, the slow doesn't scale with ability level, this is why it's maxed last.

Cat CallCat Call
Bastet summons 3 cats that attack nearby targets, slowing them by 20% and dealing 25/35/45/55/65 (+20% of your physical power) damage. Sensing the smell of blood, the cats will attack bleeding enemies first. The cats have 20/30/40/50/60 protections and last up to 10s or until they are slain.

Tips and Tricks
  • Just an amazing ability really.
  • Literally use this when you think you might need it to secure a kill, the cooldown isn't crazy high so you're better off just using it rather than hesitating and them getting away (sad face).
  • The slow on this ability is sometimes over looked, people literally wont be able to escape you, hence why Fatalis isn't included in the build.

Think about your next item, before even buying your first

The Left Clicky AA Build

2150 1950 2440 2650 3150 2700

Warrior Tabi
But whhhhay Odd? Quite simple, you need the speed and the pen. The alternative would be Ninja Tabi if you feel like you want the extra 15% cooldown reduction.

Heartseeker
Ahhh, I see. Sweet as hell item! You'll need to grab this early game, starting off with two points in it and going back to base to grab the full item ASAP. It will give you the early physical power you need to dominate mid trades and manage to clear waves.

Jotunn's Wrath
Go on... Not too much about this one, just an all around great item for you to grab as Bastet. It gives you a neat 25% cooldown reduction which makes up for not buying the Ninja Tabi, and also gives you 11 phys pen. The mana is pretty handy too.

Rage
Hmmm, yes, yes. Now this is reliant on the AA build that I choose to take myself. If you're going for the more bruiser ability damage build then don't take this, or Deathbringer. If you are going for the AA build then your damage will start to show at this point.

Deathbringer
True, true. The other core item for the AA Bastet build. Again, don't buy this item if you're not going for the AA Bastet build. However, just like Rage, when you get this item, be prepares to 3-shot people.

Void Shield
You're a genius Odd! A GENIUS! An all around great item for Bastet to have. Her kit and the rest of this build means you don't have to buy a Hastened Fatalis, so instead the other solid option is this item. It will also make it more difficult for your physical targets to fight back.

The Bruiser ***** of Mid

Magi's Blessing
2150 1950 2440 2700 2100 2050

Magi's Blessing Magi's Blessing
Really?. So this item is a great choice for a bruiser style Bastet. It gives you some sweet defensive stats and but on top of that has the great passive. People will often try to stun you to try and stop you from jumping away, this item essentially gives you a free Purification Beads every 1 minute.

Titan's Bane
Damn you're good. This will give you some flat out nice damage. The penetration works on abilities and a lot of your damage comes from abilities. You will shred through armour with this in your build.

As If 4 Abilities and 2 Consumables Wasn't Enough

Aegis Pendant
I pretty much always get this active, especially when going mid. Many mid lane Gods have big damaging ultimates which this can negate completely.
Greater Sprint
The second active I tend to go for, feel free to use it to get to lane if your tower is under attack.
Greater Purification
If the enemy team doesnt really have any big ultimates you need to nope, grab this instead of Aegis Pendant
Wrath of the Gods
You can grab this depending on your own preference. If you really want to keep dominance over the mid camps and/or wanna use your, "jumpinHoGswagfiregiantsteal", combo.

Too become stronk, you must de-stronk the enemy

open wound

open wound

o.o Those Pesky Mid Harpies o.o
just sitting there, flapping away

+ MAKE SURE YOU'RE CONTESTING EVERY MID HARPY CAMP! +

+ I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH, the exp you get, is exp the enemy mid laner DOESN'T get +

+ The mid harpies are often mistaken as the junglers camp, their job and that you mustn't take it, WRONG! +

+ Every time they spawn, either/both you and your jungler should be there +
open wound

open wound

I kinda like vision

Well that about wraps it up

Cat call

^ ^ The End... ^ ^
hope you liked it!

+ Well that concludes my mid lane Bastet guide! Again I know Bastet is played better in other places, but why not give it a try and let me know how its goes? Oh and if you cant grasp the play style check out the full game commentary and see how I handle it! £(^o^)£ +

I'm new to playing Bastet, and have a couple of questions;
1) Is this build viable for joust?
2) I've found that if you aren't doing well, VERY SITUATIONALLY you could get a transcendence or devourer's glove isntead of heartseeker for permanent stacks. Do you recommenc this?

All in all, a very well-made, informative guide. Thanks!

Don't play conquest, but this guide was very solid and gave a lot of insight on a god that has recently been thrown back into competitive play. +1

Well it's...unique. To say the least. Bastet mid + Jump for wave clear. Never seen it that way, even in closed and open beta, but I guess if it gets the job done. Usually people max out the bleed first, using THAT to wave clear. I'm going to have to try this out to see if it actually works. Any idea if the same applies in solo lane?

The build seems good, nothing much to say. Though you put Voidblade, which now is called Void Shield. The explanations are all good.

While I've never played Bastet mid, I know for fact that Razor Whip is more effective in clearing a wave and can hit the whole wave, since she whips from left to right. It does more damage overall, and I think should be maxed first, before Pounce. Also, you could explain how to harness open wound to it maximum potential - since it's a flat 15% damage increase, it'll be the most effective when used with your most damaging skill - Razor Whip. So a little bit more emphasis on that would be nice.

There is a sever lack of gameplay. Apart from actual laning and mid-camps control, you could use some information about team fights, roaming, and how Bastet handles herself throughout the game phases.

The guide itself is very shiny and beautiful. BBCoding is in place, and I especially like the custom headlines.

I'm gonna upvote this guide hoping that you'll expand it and give more info about raw gameplay. I put my trust in you, so don't let me down! :P I know you won't
