I don't have a lot of knowledge of Tyr, yet.. But, perhaps you're looking for Void Shield against physical, instead of Runic Shield?

Void Shield is too expensive to pick up, it's a mid-late game item if ever bought but it isn't in a great spot right now.

Note also, Runic Shield is the first magical protection item. In that first example, Breastplate of Valor is built early and is covering the main physical prots.

I like the idea of a hammer on Tyr, but I don't think Rune forged is the one unless you are just going off stats and not passive. Since I think the only way for him to activate the passive is with his ult.

Agreed, if you want a bit of damage pick up Gladiator's Shield or caduceus shield. Runeforged Hammer is really rough on Tyr because as you say only his ult procs it, and the sustain stats aren't as important to him as he has a bloated heal on his 2.

Now Im confused too, I hope changing Runeforge Hammer for glad shield is a good choice espacially with high prots from nemean. I just don't know if this might lead to a lack of mp5 in Tyrs earlygame.
